FFXIV Occult Crescent First Impressions

blackandwhiteduo4971: People complaining about atma one time grind like they don't have months before the next step arrives, midcore people complaining now that there is midcore content, lmao, OC is really fun and great so far

kbhalacy: The regular fates die too quickly. That's my only complaint

socram3254: I'm having a blast, I missed field oprations so much, even as a solo player it's so fun meeting people on the spot and chatting, it truly makes FFXIV feel like a MMO again

NayaiDeaure: absolutely adoring OC. the music has been incredible. the CEs a bit more challenging, and the variety of rewards quite nice. and God, do I wish the main game would put Treasures around the world like OC.

KrazyBean14: Really enjoying it a lot. Kinda wish CEs gave a little gold coins though.

danrobgar1979: I liked the relic, I think they should keep doing it like this. 1 hard step (atma) then an easy step (tomes) I think it is a perfect mix. I like teaming up with people in occult crescent also and doing CE. Plenty of stuff for people who don’t do savage to do in that new zone.

Coreycry: the background music could be less loud, phone speakers struggle to hear you

lu-sk: Hey just wanted to let you know that the music in the video is too loud, making it difficult to hear you at times. Listening to the video in the background is straining.

ikeaira8701: I been patiently waiting for this content since fanfest announcement lol and all i can say is: "worth the wait." Only complaint, fates die far too quick. I'm missing more than actually being able to participate in. I have the game on a ssd, decent pc specs, and good internet so I know the issue isn't fully on me. I wish they'd increase fate bosses HP a little more and that could solve most of the issues. Or players being more patient in pulling.... but that's a big ask lol

sorinnoctis652: I just hate how i cant take my alt classes in there at lvl 90 to lvl up.

omegazero5884: Since I think part of the reason why there is just the one time grind is because they've moved away from the idea that people will only be getting the relics for one or two jobs and are instead believing that people are going after all of them. Maybe having the relics take diminishing returns for each subsequent relic.

Like the demiatma step let's say instead of 18 there was 22 atma you needed to collect and for each subsequent relic you got it reduced the total amount you needed for that relic by 1.

So first relic 22 then 21 etc etc.

I think this would help tremendously with making the grind for all the relics less exhausting while still making the grind for a few still a grind.

CaptEirikr: I normally don't like grindy content that much due to time constraints, but I've been enjoying it too; been fate grinding (which I haven't done in years) out in the world to get my demiatma (15/18, just need the ones in Yak'Tel), and the phantom levelling in the Crescent has been very satisfying too.

helloInternets: This crescent is fertile with adventure!

Tally ho!

benoitrousseau4137: SE cooked. It's the best exploration mission they've done in my opinion. I wish there was 3 more zones of this coming.

dalthorn: Is it just me or is the music REALLY loud compared to him speaking?

EmiliaTanWho: what is this majestic music im listening to

liftea7304: My main issue is that the repeatable relic step should have been atma too but instead of requiring 3 just require 1 from each colour.

azae00Vids: Please can we stop the complaining about tome grinds … not every spends so much time on this game.. some have a demanding jobs.. and some don’t have this “community” assistance.. so being able to progress despite is nice

Naoto-kun1085: I absolutely love this content, they succeeded in taking the best parts of Eureka and Bozja and making it a whole new zone! I only wish there was a casual version of Forked Tower, something more like CLL, but it's also really cool watching people do it, I wish there were more people streaming Forked Tower prog! Also Fate scaling is a bit weird, but I like that Fates and CEs appear way more often than the previous zones, and usually one at a time

Euphamia: Yes its always good to force out single people because a 48 premade is way more important as people. Down with single players! >_>

yabiyabi: Hello. I worked hard to become level 20, I buy a certificate, but nobody does the content. I am very sad about it. It was something I looked forward to but then I realize it is more "savage" than "normal"... so they did not understand the feedback from Chaotic Alliance... did the management also have 48 testers to complete it? The rest of the content, while I had minor complaints, I am fine with majority. It is fun for 2 hours, but after that I am feeling mentally tired because I have not friends to do it with. I feel discouraged about the raid I looked forward... We mostly thought "This is normal version, savage releases later" but now I don't know if this is true anymore.. it is not a content done here. Am I misunderstanding? I have been avoiding Forked tower content because I wanted to go in without being spoiled, but it seems I have no choice ^^;

taranstones1798: My thoughts so far: its super fun and a great start

LightSummoner84: The content is superficial, nothing innovative, nothing new, recycling old assets, put random chest,...

Not so massive content, superficial lifespan.

Sakupenn_: I have very mixed opinions on the relic weapon, I am glad there's actually a grind again, but my issue with the Demiatma's is that there's no actual cap on how many you can get, and because of how many CE's there are in the area that drop Realgar Demiatma's, I just have WAY more of those than the others. (And after capping my shared FATEs I really dread doing any more of those.)

That isn't to say that I hate the grind for Atma's itself, it just feels like a LOT of RNG for very little the first time you do it, I kinda wish the weapons themselves gave special effects in the zone, like the armors do. Cause if you do Savage or even just your weekly roulettes for tome gear, it's just glam.

I'm really enjoying the content so far, and I love having big scale fights back where you just get to watch 20-30 people who have no idea what they're doing all die instantly.

Maria_Erias: I'll say this: I think having the max pop for each instance at 72 was a good idea. FF14's netcode is super old, and with the pinpoint precision on timing needed for a lot of mechanics since the end of Endwalker on, it's getting incredibly obvious how bad it is, and becomes easy to tell which NA players are furthest from the servers in California because of how many people wind up dying to mechanics in CEs and FATEs in OC that looked

rythiancross: Wasnt bozja also tomes during the first step?

Lets1do1this: It’s interesting to hear your thoughts, I’ve been playing 11 years now myself and I do get in downtime / between patches people have nothing to do and the players that basically live in eorzea will love this, but idk if people just don’t work or live off inheritance or just don’t have family / kids or something but what is on avg a 20-30 hour grind for one step of a relic that is purely based off rng chance is just not acceptable for the average player, you then go on about community and working together then start complaining about randoms wanting to do the raid, I mean I do get it, it’s a bit much a player who pays their sub wanting to enter the content like it’s designed… I notice this shit attitude a lot now as the games got older and I do just put it down to to many hours played by some, you have kind of lost track of the average player and how much time they can spend playing and the avg skill level of someone who doesn’t just sit at home all day everyday playing the same mmo. No wonder new players now days sound like they have done something major wrong and keep apologising for making simple mistakes in duties, I wonder why ffxiv keeps losing so many subs when their old majority player base sounds like this…
