1Mrstephen: Good lord the lighting is better in this video.
cordeliacentauri1737: Anyone who has experienced hoyoverse/chinese gacha games can see this a mile away.
debrucey: Anyone who expected otherwise is naive
TheMrg59: IDK If anyone has ever pointed this out, but 99.9999999999999% of the time you've said 'I don't know if you can hear (insert cat name), but s/he's xyz', we cannot, in fact, hear anything.
dyreckta23: That was my biggest fear in all this I know they want to limit the grind but pay to win will make me drop it sadly
Envinyon: "FFXIV mobile will kill FFXIV"
DacianGradaMusic: It’s good they are quick to address this stuff but kinda worrying that the first thought was “let’s just remove things that the main game has included and make it paid” — sure, this is a free game vs the subscription, but it still looks bad to straight up remove stuff.
I’m fine with letting people pay for some grinds, it’s a typical mobile thing since you might not want to sit dozens of hours on the phone of all places to grind, so as long as it’s obtainable in game as well it’s fine. Again, options.
They have been doing some great QoL but they need to keep in mind that everything will be compared to XIV, the good and the bad. Just like how YoshiP’s team will get posts about this or that thing that is better in Mobile, the opposite also happens.
teraniel2500: No p2w, but it seems there will be pay to convenience. It's f2p so it can't be helped, but i'd rather pay monthly.
nighttimestalker: I'm really curious if the people in these comments actually watched the video, ir immediately went to hating just because this a mobile game.
Literally nothing about this screams p2w. Its just some ninor convenience stuff that has minimal effect on the actual game . Meanwhile, you can pay to literally skip entire level grinds and story missions on PC...
Pretty much everything this is doing, the PC version does. Minus the materia pass.
They have some outfits that cost money? SE will often drop $20 outfits on the mog station.
We also have payed mounts, payed dye, paid emotes, payed glamour weapons, payed furniture, can pay for more retainers, etc.
bluezhift: Interesting seeing how knowledge of the desktop game affects monetization options in the mobile. Nevertheless, they will get that money one way or another. I think it's important to realize that they don't want enough to just keep the lights on. SE and Lightspeed want to pull down Hoyoverse Money! The beta test is giving them the hard data they need in order to figure out how to do that. Hold your wallets tightly! LOL
Nutrafin-3D: Is Chinese game censorship still a thing? Like is the global version gonna have censored skeletons and what not? Or can they still do that stuff outside of China?
xTyith97: In all honesty, the only monetisation a game needs is purely cosmetic - especially for an MMO. Yet they often insist on gate keeping certain things and edge you towards paying for something out of convenience. It’s silly.
jowest99: They are reminding me why I hate F2P games, and would much rather pay a monthly subscription. All of this pay for convenience/power garbage is just ridiculous, and shouldn’t be a thing.
TamaReeves: I personally dont mind any kind of monetization as long it's not hindering the core gameplay. Since this is an mmo, just the fact that the battle isnt tied to p2w is alreadh a plus for me
handbananabusta1034: Great video as always. I see this is the start. They are about to do a rug pull so I'm enjoy my train while it still rides at dawn. They justified spending. This comes full circle just wait and watch.
djkatsuo: This seems fine. It’s completely optional.
fayte0618: I wonder if someone will calculate the monthly cost difference between versions
nexmeles8023: honestly, I am curious how much of this we might see in the 8.0 updates and adjustments... not the pay-to-win.. you already had people ragebaiting over that with the Cash shop Motorcycle... haha but like the Materia and such.
thecomingofchrisit0: I'll need to rematch this again, it's a little confusing.
Coltiwaka: Well glad the weapons werent pay to win and the ilevel thing is getting removed. Materia limits is concerning but maybe im more forgiving for a game i can play completely for free if i so choose, but it is good its changed.
Generally if i can earn something in game i am ok with pay for convenience cause i dont mind the grind. Like someone told me it would cost $200 for 1 outfit to unlock every color, but its not required to, its not needed to do every piece, not every slot needs to be unlocked and you can earn it freely.
I might be more positive about mobile than others here in the comments i feel lol
ruick78: Well yea Chinese are heavy spenders in mobile games. Not surpised
yabiyabi: I was expecting this about next year....NOT this soon.... I never ever ever believe a company going "completely free" without pay to win.
Especially when it is from China, especially when it STARTS from China to test the waters (which is so sad) I am disappointed.
Even though it is not entirely "P2W" but battlepass....? It starts slowly with this kind of thing, so I am not going to be surprised in the future.
itsspookie: I'm going to say this is another nail in the coffin.
jamaldowner: See, now I'm wondering if there's a Chinese YouTuber who does a synopsis of Mr. Happy's live letter brake down....
raventhorX: definitely rubs me the wrong way if they are taking earnable cosmetics from the original game and making them a cash shop item.
Bigbadbog: Pure Chaos Bacon energy
