Shopping Cartpedromoreira6218: ff14 did something that really needs to be documented wich is how they successfully managed to chase every type of mmo player away from their game with 1 single expantion even modders find it hard to justify loging in now, at least wow took them 2 long expantion for people to actually leave
magus232: yeah i personally have lapsed literally a few months ago cause all there is to do in XIV is stand on the steppes in uldah and socialize, gave up my medium plot personal that took me over 19 months just to finally win because im not gonna have it held hostage behind a subscription that i dont want to pay.
valowrai3156: finally unsubbed and let my houses blow up after like a decade, just tired of being held house-hostage when they're such an investment to begin with.
TheMasterwitcher: Id love to get into eso but i cant be arsed with the halfwit combat. I just cant stand it
bigslick920: Housing is becoming easy to get in ff14 with demo being enacted. FC shells houses are going poof daily its' great. So I would say the active players count drop off is looking legit.
Mike_Requiem: It baffles my mind that a game like Wizard101 that came out in 2008 two years before FFXIV 1.0; you could buy a house with in game money as a free to play player and is completely instant based...
JDXik: SE shouldn't even get credit for their housing. The original system released in 2007 in Lord of the Rings online had neighborhoods as well. The exact same number of small medium and large plots that FFXIV went on to use. That's most likely where FFXIV's housing came from. Much like the gameplay cycle from another game there was nothing original about FFXIV's systems or features. Which I personally don't mind devs do, it's healthy competition. What I do have a problem with is the fact that Square Enix/Yoshida didn't even bother to put their own spin on it or innovate it in any meaningful way. Much like how they're arrogant enough and the players are quite frankly stupid enough to think "OH THE FIGHT IS IT'S ON REWARD". No, fights are content. What you get from the fight is the reward.
KILLRAIN42: Even SWTOR has housing that's more easily accessible than 14's. It has limitations, for sure, as it's not a major focus of the game. Not to make apologetics for swtor, but, 14's got it's limitations too and at least the base gameplay of swtor is still enjoyable which is more than I can say for 14 these days.
arturius9715: Yeah, what"s even crazier is that I can't even skip a month as an Fc lead. After 30 days, leadership is passed.
Soyofdarknes: Oh man... i was fine with burning FF but is becoming a wow glazing channel, i hope not, but it gives the impression.
Scheesecake: 14's build system for housing is so much of hassel to deal with , it's pointless even buying one .
pandamonium9255: Every single soul to witness this video should individually link this shit repeatedly all over lodestone forums, FFXIV twitter wall, Facebook and YouTube pages. Just mega blast them with this video until they cry again on the next live letter
usefuloxymoron8912: Call me a slopeater if you like, but I'm am one of the ones that still likes 14. But I'm also not one of those toxic positive people who huff copium and yell that everything is fine while the game is burning down around me. We all know Wuk Lmao is awful, so I won't mention that too much, but Wow's transmog system is objectively superior to the glam system. Wow's housing system will be objectively superior when it comes out. Then there are simply baffling decisions, such as to lock Occult Crescent behind level 100... if you could have used OC to level jobs like Boszja allowed, so many more players would still be running OC.
I recently started an alt in ARR and I'm actually enjoying myself. Say what you want about ARR, but the world has much more 'bite'. There's tonnes of side-stories with a nasty edge which has a stark contrast with a lot of the disnified aspects of Dawntrail.
silverdepth5111: I'm letting all of my houses go but I have to resub one final time before putting my characters into indefinite hibernation, I already gave away all of my FC houses but my private house, you have to let the auto demolish happen in order to get a percent of the gil back. Yes that's right, you wont get any gil back if you manually demolish your house. They purposely did this to greedily squeeze out one more sub fee out of you. This is why the timer is 45 days and not 30. My last 30 days I'm gonna download every mod I can and show them off and how they cheat the game and send the video to Square Enix, in hopes they DMCA more mods making this game even worse because they outlined exactly what they have a problem with when they stopped mare. Screw ff14, its community of mentally ill losers, the team of incompetent devs and the greedy company behind them. I cannot wait until my final sub fee runs out, I will finally beable to uninstall this waste of 100gb off of my SSD.
Mizauria: You're not paying rent, and my god I wish people who clearly haven't been around since the start would actually recognize that the player-base asked for this system. We pissed, bitched and moaned for housing that wasn't being used to be freed up for other people. The demolition timer has had historically had YoshiP's ire since they implemented it; he fucking hates it because he knew it would lead to stupid "rent" comments, but because we specifically asked, and it was the only solution they could come up with, they implemented it despite his misgivings.
ChannelRaznoff: It would be interesting to see how low their numbers would dip if they removed demolition permanently from the game. People paying their rent is probably keeping the game out of full maintenance mode at this point. The game has worse FOMO than any gacha I've ever played. You at least don't lose access to the things you spend money on if you stop playing/spending for several months in gachas.
akkidarkness4824: I enjoyed playing ESO for the time I did, as well, but the couple things I hated the most was you HAD to br subbed if you wanted the most out of gathering your loot and crafting materials: aka, sub to have materials remotely deposited into your material bag. Otherwise, fill up your inventory and you're out of luck.
As well as the houses costing a LOT of gold, or a good chunk of real money; which id what they wanted you to do.
The game was enjoyable to me otherwise, but i don't plan on returning.
theLukkyChannel: Wheres athena ?
ErocañaX: Bring back Athena
menosay1912: Shame ESO is garbage and I consider supporting Bethesda as bad as supporting Squeenix.
Tailionis: I'll keep paying for YoshiP' rent if you keep paying for WoW. Blizzard is not some great company either m8. I've been listening to you for a few weeks now. I don't understand the point of your content. It's just whining about a game you don't even play.
akkidarkness4824: The best housing system I've ever experienced was WildStar's. It spoiled me to the point that pretty much no other housing experience is even close.
Fully instanced, automatically yours (after a quick quest), and you were more or less free to design it as you saw fit. Fully customizable inside and outside the house.
But sadly, it is lost to time.
Nefarious-69: They say in ffxiv glamour is the endgame. In eso housing is the endgame. I have yet to find a mmo with housing that even comes close to eso.
davood123: They need to switch to horizontal progression. The tower of ffbabel is gonna fall over at this rate
Darkkfated: It's not too late, it's only Alpha. Blizz still has time to remove the 3D Gimbles and disallow floating objects, and thus locking all the true customization behind a bunch of glitches, hack-y nonsense, and add--ons.
tirandeshibaraki743: There's a reason you don't see too many skeletons in 14.... they're all stashed in Yoshi's closet.
arcanerune9134: Eso will also sometimes give a huge house as a community event reward. If the community as a whole meets the goal every active player gets the house.
