Assuming this is still true, Yoshi p told us this delay 10 months ago.

darkmistress1980: im not a raider/group content person and by standards im a casual. alot of the world first and rading stuff is nice for ppl to have but not important for me. i wish they gave the causuals the content at the front end of the expac then drip feed us bits through out the rest. this expac felt more aimed at the raiders more then any body else. i used to be a massive fan of the MSQ cause i liked the story but as of late its been "eh" and it makes me sad.

i didnt really benifit from 7.3-7.4. i yeared for QoL stuff like med-large inside for the house, more "hooks"/places to put decorations on, i would have loved the firnature scaling thing from WoW (cause being a femroe its hard to get nice sized chairs and such), id love stuff like the WoW's/SWTOR's reagent tab system so i can gather till my hearts content and then dump it on the MB OR even better make your housing server/realm wide. so if my alts need something i can put it in a communial bank tab and then my alt can grab it out, stuff like this.

Ryukai-san: I have a feeling that the housing stuff will be 7.5, as it can be used as a subscription hook for the 8.0 waiting room.

I331E38: As a longterm player I've paid attention to all these patches, but have logged in maybe a total of 12 times since DT's first two months were over. Honestly I just want DT to be over with, it's been a snoozer all around and no one plays anymore that I know.

BlakeAustin2011: The devs can gussy up the love letter and the game with all kinds of community asks and QOL improvements and etc., but at the end of the day this patch is important for one reason: story.

Outside about 25-30% of Dawntrail, the overall story was a complete failure due to pacing, an awful lead NPC, and a region players at large just didn’t connect with.

If the 8.0 story doesn’t have hype coming into it, or if it ends up being awful, the game is toast. The BBEG in Endwalker was an unimaginative “switcharoo” last minute, and DT didn’t really capture the idea of the stakes being massive if we fail.

Spoiler:

I am not a fan that we defeated 2 unwinded Ascians and 2 elder primals and the Endsinger only to have sundered half-Ascians suddenly reappear as presumably primary antagonists. The Ascians coming back really only works if in their ignorance they lost complete control of their magic and created a cataclysmic event (on the source or on a shard) that maybe we aren’t able to stop, but we can only forestall.

SayDose: 7.4 is definitely going to show where they're going with the content direction. I was not happy with their "content for everyone" idea with Quantum, since that only scaled from Savage with q15 to Ultimate with q40. OC being just a big zone to farm power for the Savage only endgame raid and having minimal rewards and purpose besides that felt terrible as well. If the future of content is some synthesis of those then I'm not very excited for that. It just makes the game extremely raid focused where you're either a hardcore player who raids savage, or you log in, do the story, and unsub for 4 months.

DacianGradaMusic: I will probably just sub for one month right after patch as I’ve been doing most of this years, even with the great combat and additions there’s just no reason for me to keep going with the same ol’ formula…

I really hope they don’t touch the variant portion of the dungeons much, because for me that was perfect already. Sure it can be improved, but the idea was already great because of the solo friendly aspect, figuring out the endings was fun, the mounts you got at the end were mostly great and worth the “hassle” and if you really wanted you could quickly do some fast runs at launch to get potsherds for a quick resell for millions on day one. Been there, done that, plenty of fun!

Considering the sheer amount of varied rewards so far I’m less worried about the “criterion” part, whatever that ends up being called in the end; we already know the fight designs will be exceptional and everything else is just a welcome bonus.

Good point on the story direction too, I’m not a DT MSQ hater in the slightest, because I do have a brain and can see the difference between 10 years of buildup epic finale and a new beginning, but it makes sense now that the Tuli arc is finished we shift focus on the WoL and Scions again for an epic shard hopping adventure or whatever! I hope Erenville won’t be gone adventuring on his own for long as I’m ready to have some fresh new allies in addition to the classic scions.
