sedos6084: This unfortunately seems to be a vindication for discord groups that despite the debate in the player base they DO own the content for occult crescent. It's a shame to see the content be put decisively beyond my reach to even attempt, especially since the content for casuals is so slim this expansion.

FaelonZ: big big news, please support this, them doing this stuff ahead of original plans is massive and they need to do it more if things like this need to be addressed. They're scared to do this stuff and we need to let them know to please do it we will be ok with a maintenance if it means not waiting an extra month for the patch or however long if/when this happens again in the future. This is also why people need to be vocal about these things, the devs listen, it's not complaining it's productive feedback; and don't shush people "complaining" like they're hating on the game or something, you'll thank them later.

FearDatD: Agree that this is more about a better feedback loop and turnaround. If something is important to change, change it ASAP

As for FT itself, the changes are good but it sucks for people who don't wanna join a discord or just have a curiosity about the content.

PDohm123: Would also be nice if they offered something other than Savage for Forked Tower. It's hard to complete Field Ops when the final dungeon is at a level a lot of players don't try, because they're not hardcore players.

It's great news for people who are in discord groups, love organizing outside the game and for some reason decided their social life needs to revolve around the game. For the rest? It sucks. I wish SE could strike a balance that pleases people who enjoy light social interaction (Endwalker) and people who crave heavy social interaction (Dawntrail). But they wont. I am tired of subsidizing the fun of influencers and hardcore raiders when I am struggling to find a way into this discord-only content mode FFXIV is on.

Manwife357: On my FT clear run we had a random fresh sniper who wasn't in the discord, they joined for callouts and tried hard and we got them all to the way to magitaur, and they got the mount. (Even if they were on the floor by the end, hehe)

kasik047: The restricting instances for premades was required. There is a premade on NA that has 40 clears that now has a dedicated FC of snipers that follow them around between DCs in order to spam ciphers and take spots from premade members. They join the tower all as tank/chemist in order to just survive through all the fights and sell these runs to 1/2 people per tower/night. Group spent HOURS trying to get a clear instance but they still followed wherever they went. Entire night should not be wasted because of people who are want to waste our time.

Inddie_Who: Honestly I think they should have done it like they did DR. Have a regular version that's easy to clear with randoms and little to no coordination, and then have a separate Savage version with exclusive rewards for the people who actually wanted a harder challenge. I'll likely never clear FT because it requires a lot more prep work and organization that I just don't want to have to do in order to clear this quest line
