There were a bunch of beastmasters both in the Southern Front and Zadnor, not just Lyon. Pagaga Vochstein (the lalafell with the gryphons), Clarricie Priscus (the elezen with the mammoth), Hernais Longus (the hyur with a manticore), and Daguza Sus (the seeq with an entire horde of random animals) all come to mind readily.
