pedromoreira6218: "they dont listen to the right people for feedback" this is the most important sentence said in my opinion those black mage changes came from them listening to the people that whine and complain about how they cant play black mage because it was "to hard"
RyuSaarva: All tanks and healers looked at these samurais complaining about losing a single skill with anger.
aurraci9833: What you said in first 40 seconds is so true, ppl need to realise it’s not just hate it’s wanting the game to survive the numbers don’t lie
brandonn161: This game needs much more than class redesigns. They need to redesign the encounters as well. As it stands, all the classes are just different flavors of DPS.
Lordoziom: I can't believe they read the Dawntrail story and decided it's acceptable.
akridx5712: Kona's entire character got ruined in one patch. LMAO!!!
Jay-mx5ky: Please we need a once-per-major-patch player survey ASAP.
Lordoziom: I think most casuals didn't even realise there was a graphics update.
Sev-j3: Seeing my FC and Friend list get crushed, is soul-draining. People are leaving this game, and not coming back. 8.0 is the last chance for alot of folk, for this game.
Belerin26: Honestly at this point they need to just make FFXVII MMO
Lordoziom: I have to disagree, I love the job diversity in this game!
We have Blue DPS, Green DPS and Red DPS!
What? There are 4 seperate blue DPS classes? That's crazy!
cryat5121: The part about killing characters just reminded me they were going for it in endwalker and then backpedalled and no one died. that last sequence before endsinger, if all the scions would have actually sacrificed so you could have a chance at stopping her would have been 10000x more epic, grounded and emotional. This expansion could have been about the grief of losing them and what it meant for eorzea. Instead we got WUK LMAO.
johngreener6696: Just found your channel. Thank you. Too many content creators are following the “can’t criticize ff xiv” approach and so few are being the voice of those of us who love the game but are being pushed out by SE for the sack of raiders and content creators.
LunatoTsukiyo: As someone who started in Stormblood and recently gave my house up and finally unsubbed, I have been nothing but disappointed in FFXIV. I clocked in 19k hours pre Dawntrail because it was just FUN to play. Back in Shadowbringers I ran Expert roulette a billion times just because it was so much fun to play all the different classes. Every patch nowadays kills class identity even further, dumbing them down making them all the same. I saw the cracks happening back in Endwalker where content was so dry and rare, there was nothing to do. Dawntrail was advertised as this content heap that the game needed, yet it only gave bad class design, lack of content and absolutely awful decisions from the team showing they don't even care. The cash shop is full with stuff that could be in the game. I kept hope for so long but they finally lost me. Having to pay virtual rent was just the nail in the coffin for me. I'll take a break until 8.0, see if it got better and if its the same trash then I am just done with the game.
xuyuzu: Lead of job design needs to be fired straight up, they literally dont know how to make job rotations fun and interesting
mosley3485: The main problem rn is that they need to break the formula. They've been releasing Stormblood every 2-3 years for a decade. I'm so bored that I can't even be bothered complaining about the game any more.
The constant oversimplification just makes the cut and paste content even less interesting. I don't check patch notes to see what has been added. I check patch notes to see what has been removed.
There just isn't anything left to get excited about. Who's pogging out because they get to do stack/spread/proteans again but with 3 less abilities than they had last expansion?
Enderlinkpawnu: imo, I am not like super butthurt about an ultimate not coming out in 7.3. The more hardcore side of the game has been eating really good for basically all of Dawntrail's lifecycle, while the more casual players that dont do savage/ultimate/chaotic/criterion got basically nothing but shitty MSQ until CE came out. It's a shitty situation either way, but now at least in SE's eyes, now both sides of the community have had a dead patch?
I think SE needs to seriously rethink their content roadmap. Like if CE came out in 7.1, and then we got an ultimate in 7.3, nobody would be having any issues whatsoever. The hardcore players will have what they want, and the casual players wouldn't have had basically nothing to do for the first 8-9 months of this expac's launch outside of some of the worst MSQ in recent memory.
HeliosDemí: (Long comment about the job design...)
The change to Black Mage felt good at first, the faster cast times and infinite time on ice/fire phases - but then I started to feel...nothing while playing it, not even 2 full weeks into using it. I've dabbled in it here and there but didn't try it seriously until EW, and it felt so damn good. And people also KNOW when you're good at it too, because you got more comms if you performed well on a hard job. Not so much anymore.
I literally moved to Picto soon after the nerfs - I unconsciously didn't wanna play black mage anymore. Wanted to feel the same way I felt on older black mage with the long cast time - big damage payoff.
And you know what the sad part is; they couldn't even nerf Picto correctly - Hammer is now a dps loss (at level 100) unless paired with raid buffs.
Also you know for a fact that if they removed Dark Arts from DRK, there is no way they are bringing back Kaiten. It is an absolute failure of design of a tank as far as how fun it is - 123 for 1 minute and then "not fell cleave" with an OGCD. It's in the same boat as black mage rn, it's boring. Why did it take until DT to bring its defensives closer to the other tanks? Why did TBN stay the literal same since SB? Why did its gapcloser that replaced Plunge initially have long endlag that screwed up the opener?
I don't even need to talk about the healers; but I will anyway because this has been a problem since SHB. Nobody asked them to take away Selene and AoE Esuna/Haste. Nobody asked them to take away secondary DoTs like Aero 3 and Miasma 2 in favor of STRICT 2-minute rotation. Their excuse is that they want to develop more complex fights and as such, they make the damage rotation for healers simple, but having a 2ndary DoT that cost a lot of MP to use is a risk reward that you were never truly pressured to always use. Taking those away removed that extra bit of damage management we used to have. We also LOSE MORE BUTTONS in older content the more they retroactively simplify everything.
Also, remember when they removed Energy Drain on launch of SHB from Scholar and they put it back an entire patch cycle later after everyone kept screaming at them?
This game has some of either dumbest players (which is very likely) who don't know what to actually ask for in job design and misremember what their kit was back in HW and SB, or devs who literally forget what they learned from past expansions. And this isn't a FFXIV issue either, because this annoying trend is happens in Kingdom Hearts as well, taking several steps back with the combat design in KH3 when the design was solid in KH1 and great in KH2. Leave it to Square Enix to be incompetent over and over again on things they've worked on for years - as if they suffer a personality disorder.
At least Capcom learns from their mistakes, Square Enix just keeps screwing around - pretending they're okay with making garbage business decisions because FFXIV is keeping them alive. It's more than embarrassing; it's disgraceful.
bigtimetimmyjim6486: I went from one of the pillars of a top FFXIV speeds team to quitting the game in the course of half an expansion; they completely dropped the ball in Dawntrail in so many ways.
--A story so out of touch and derivative that the only enjoyment I get out of it is how incompetent some of the moments are. (and yes, a lot of us in the optimization scene really care about this)
--Job balance that is beyond terrible, this video covers it really well, nothing more needs to be said.
--Some jobs just playing extremely poorly as a result of their quadrupling down on the 2 minute meta and making natural buff windows mechanical hell. To me, this is proof that nobody working on the battle system actually plays the game, as they enforce ranged proximity mechanics at a time where a job like RDM need to be in melee range to execute its burst...sometimes it can be flexed around, and other times you are literally chained to a wall and just out of luck.
--A raid design which has gotten a lot of credit from the playerbase at large, but it is also a raid design that I personally do not enjoy, giving up its proactive, thoughtful mechanics in favor of reactive ones that reward reflex over thought. They remind me of WoW's raids, where you can gain a much more distinct advantage from using plugins (addons), widescreen monitors (to see the arena better) and rely on randomness to create artificial difficulty (see m2s's bee adds).
The game has passed me by, but that is OK, I am fine with that and have other activities to enjoy. However, I am not OK to see others also feeling the same way that I do :(.
Ryomaaaaaaaaa: Truths is, complains won't matter if the revenue don't drop. Imagine paying a sub and having a store. Eating double shit and still happy.
Biggest irony is when the company had less revenue the content was solid right at release, more revenue = less quality checks. Crazy.
cyberocelot1325: i love this game but at some point you have to be willing to say when what you love isn’t what it used to be.
Edge2177: SE has consistently proven they are not listening to NA feedback, only JP feedback and that on the forums.
Zantetsudex: Frustration and anger isn't even the most egregious thing I'm feeling about the state of the game right. I feel bored, to the point I'm literally starved to play but I get a visceral feeling even thinking about FFXIV.
