What I got out of it is that they evidently force-starved people to bring them to horrific levels of hunger, then extracted the essence of that absolute hunger to create creatures like Algol, likely by cursing their enemies via forcing the extracted essence of absolute hunger upon them, transforming them in the process into an eternally starving monstrosity who then devours all of his former friends and allies.

"The mind recoils from the methods employed to incite and capture such desparate hunger." That means they CAUSED the hunger in order to exploit and capture it, not that they punished people for being hungry.

Jiffles: The lack of any proper feeling scaling is one of my biggest gripes. I'm sure if you go from zero to max youd notice a difference but the method of reaching max level requires you to basically trickle feed improvements. Unless you just don't max out any jobs or wear any gear until you can get all of them max instantly, which no one would do.

pUREsTORM9267: I cleared the Extreme version of FT:M for the first time last night, and I have to absolutely agree with the normal version being too watered down.

It's not just the bosses having simpler, less punishing mechanics, it's also the corridor sections having no traps or puzzles.

I was personally hoping that FT:M Normal would be more like Delubrum Reginae Normal, which has traps and Thrice Come Ruin.

If you have a single FC submarine running on the standard OJ route a lot of people do then you generate 14 million per month on average by simply logging in and checking them. With the current rate of carrots being 3 million and assuming (big assumption I know) they stay only 3 mil and never rise you are looking at just shy of five carrots a month you can buy from subs. In a whole year of submarines you can expect around 57 carrots at that rate. Meaning the most ludicrous money making method in the entire game that a lot of people complain about generating too much gil would still take you..... 35 years to complete! That's not counting anything you get from pots, carrots dropping carrots, or normal chests but even being generous and saying it's a 50% return rate you are still looking at 17.5 years of submarine money only going to carrot :) good job SE very fun.

TLDR the best money making method using submarines would take 17~35 years to complete 2000 fortune carrots.
