It is baffling to me how bad the quality of the writing, directing, and performance were for a new character who was forced into center focus for dawntrail. Truely bizare.

thorn_lekoh: Occult crescent was fine.. for about two and a half days. By then you've understood every boss fight, you've cleared the laughable amounts of "story" there is to go through, and the only thing left to do is grind the same thing over and over mindlessly for... nothing, just to make the levels go up.

That was the last thing i was still expecting from dawntrail, and they fumbled it like the rest. Zero interest in catching up with 7.2's MSQ despite hearing that it's "less insufferable" than .0 and .1, as there is nothing i'm looking forward to and no character I want to see more of.

FFXIV is now nothing more than its gpose feature for me, an expensive photography simulator, but I'm not going to give them the infinitely renewable benefit of the doubt that I and many others have given to the californian MMO in the past.

Been playing since 1.0 and DT made me quit. I'm not coming back unless they stop destroying jobs to make them as bland as possible. In that regard (gameplay) Shadowbringers was by far the worst expansion where they dumbed the heck out of everything.

Celis.C: Interesting journey, for sure. I started FFXIV two months into Stormblood, now some 7.5 years ago. I have 14.000 hours clocked. I got through Endwalker mostly by playing an alt casually and taking my time. Since that alt finished Endwalker's base MSQ (6.0), I've not felt inclined to continue playing. I did Dawntrail on my main and am still recovering from the burnout it triggered for me.

I don't ask a lot from the game, but even those things are too much asked on top of being long-time issues. Let 'small' problems fester long enough, and they'll turn into the rot that eats away at people's enjoyment. That's the state I'm in.

- No proper inventory for crafted materials

- No proper material selection when crafting if you don't have the mats in your direct inventory

- The glamour system needs a complete rework to actually work

llgxz: According to the census Dawntrail’s player retention is the worse it’s ever been. The games population is down to pre-Shadowbringers levels. It never dipped below Shadowbringers starting point in the entirety of Shadowbringers or Endwalker. Growth has stopped, and while I’m sure the player counts will spike again when the next expansion launches, as well as the expansion after that, the game has definitely peaked and is in managed decline mode.

Church-i7q: Endwalker was good mainly because the raids slapped and I like dsr and top, other than that dungeons were garbage, bozja was good, and they tuned summoner into Lego phonics, I hate what they did to summoner.

BoardgamesforOne: Yes and yes to the voice acting. It just wasn’t good enough. Though I don’t think gallool ja jas was good enough either. Whether as the writers or the voice actor, constructive critique or replacement was needed.
