Shopping Cartsenopheria: Now the funniest possible outcome for this stream is that Reggie somehow gets super into FF14. And now Woolie has 2 people in his immediate social circle that will talk at him about FF14 while he zones out and thinks what he wants for dinner that day
MedusoJuegos: The fans and community trying to give Woolie the royalty treatment by surrounding him with fireworks and creating walkways with everyone cheering him, only for him to immediatly call everyone "whales" or walk around them is the most Woolie thing ever and i love it.
Clapton20001: I've been looking forward to watching this, and I hope it's enjoyable for however long it lasts. For my money, this is the best story in FF.
AbrahmEden: High marks for Femhroth Woolie
dogzillaboot14: Hope you have fun Woolie. Thanks for giving this great game a try Miss my old days in 14 a lot and it's nice to see it's thriving more than ever. Wish you and yours the best
telesticHarlequin: man its so annoying how people treat streamers when they play ff14 for the first time. like its nice to make people feel welcome but there is such a thing as WAY too much. its so easy to cross the border into actually just group harassment, especially when youre popping giant effects and following the streamer with your giant shiny mount to make sure streamer sees you. anyway, im really excited for this series. i hope woolie warms up to the game, theres some amazing stuff to experience even as far back as realm reborn. lots of people love to overblow how much it sucks or whatever but you really get to earn your character's noteriety and it feels very cool and organic.
koifish835: Its a little funny seeing the dichotomy between most of the comments here saying something like "Its cool to see Woolie give this game a shot I hope it likes it." vs some people writing an entire paragraph about how the game is nothing but a slog and people have deluded themselves into enjoying it at all. If you don't like the game that's fine but why are you here? Just wait until he plays something you actually like.
ponderingForever: 1:21:26 "And if you look to your left, you'll see -- oh, oh god they're coming"
InternetShis: Thankfully A Realm Reborn isn't nearly as grindy as it once was, so hopefully Woolie can blaze through that great filter we all love alongside Pat so he can reach an appropriate place to determine whether it really clicks for him.
draknus2009: Holy shit Woolie and Reggie picking up FF14 with Pat on their shoulders is so good. Been waiting for this moment for years.
greenboots_4661: I mean this with all respect to all involved: Don't skip quest text just because Pat says it isn't important. Like you mentioned with running from quest from quest rather than being ferried everywhere by other players, the "tedious" stuff is part of the journey and skipping past it all will lessen your investment. If something catches your attention, feel free to slow things down and read.
Rage_Casanova: I can't believe Woolie made a cooler Hrothgar lady than mine :c
JJMomoida: Despite kinda blazing through some of the dialogue, I do hope Woolie becomes interested in the world. ARR doesn't have the strongest story, it's... serviceable, but for many it is the start of their journeys in Eorzea. It sets the stage for everything to come and I remember playing as far back as 2.0 thinking how the gameplay itself wasn't really grabbing me much, but boy did I want to know what the deal was with the Ascians and the empire and all that jazz.
user-ko5ul7yi1x: Not sure if he'll continue something quite grindy like this but I hope Woolie at least gets to Shadowbringers and appreciate its impact
rosenrot234: With how into fashion Woolie is I can totally see him cooking up some sick outfits in this game. Fashion is always the end game. There's also something so funny about Woolie playing a tall character surrounded plot wise by a lot of Lalafells. She could just pick them up by the head like its nothing.
DaiHaj: Woolie waltzing by the entire pathway of people without a care is the single most based thing I have seen a streamer first timing this game do.
leafgreenbeast: gotta love the crowd of people incessantly in camera and making noise while they shake all the seeds from their hand in their excitement
Rhaethyn: Wow, these comments are unhinged. At least the streams themselves have a bunch of enthusiasm, lol.
stsars13: Brother we have been trying to make you play this gave for FIFTEEN YEARS welcome!
GwajiBuYing: FF14 is almost guaranteed to be Woolie's most boring fucking playthrough yet. Even if you accept whole-heartedly that FF14's gameplay is going to be an incredibly boring sequence of the same three buttons for at least 20-30 hours (which it will be), and that the story is the only thing you're really here for, and you totally rush the story, doing only job quests otherwise... the MSQ is really, really fucking dull. For every relevant story beat with actual lore and shit happening, there's several hours of mind-numbing running back and forth between awkwardly placed NPCs. Even if you discount rubbish quests overtly designed to drain your soul, the quest design is just hideously boring. Hours are spent running between NPCs in the same settlement, or navigating to some location out in the wilderness, miles away from any aether crystal, that they inexplicably decided to make central to this arc of the story. Hell, the fucking hideout of the faction you spend a good chunk of the early story hanging out with is a good jog away from the nearest teleporter and behind two loading screens, and you have to go there all. the. time.
ghost-in-the-ciel: 58:10 It's totally legitimate to say the politics in 16 come from 14, because neither game bears much resemblance to Square's much earlier foray into a more substantial, adult political fiction with FFT and Tactics Ogre, written by foreign policy student and former journalist Yasumi Matsuno. They have been trying to ape that quality ever since, but without the actual writing chops or understanding to pull it off, and as such have succeeded only in replicating the aesthetics of political storytelling, aimed at imparting a nescient audience with a vague feeling of sophistication and intrigue but with nothing really substantive behind it. In that way, 14 and 16 are two of a kind to be sure. To the extent that 14 succeeds as a story (which is the thinnest amount of butter spread over the universe's largest and driest slab of bread) it's because characters like Alphinaud and Y'shtola are reasonably charming--the rest is paper thin window dressing.
VaSoapman: Woolie NO! Its a trap!
Pats tryin to get you to retire right before the slam so he can command throw you!
SeanCrosser: Woolie really hit it out of the park with his Hrothgar. Jo Gunz looks amazing.
OrcintheBasement: Thank god they figured the audio
salvatration3704: Only watching this now but I heard on bsky that people were just circling Woolie the entire time and that sucks. There really isn't a way for somebody in Woolie's hyper-specific position to play this ideally.
Eidlones: The community is so annoying whenever a streamer tries out FFXIV. Swarm them like flies on a piece of crap and spam visual effects and mounts, hoping to get a second of recognition.
melynxforce8918: Of course reggie know about ERP
