Why Fallout 76 Is Smarter Than You Think!

thesweetone: I made my 5th character and was around level 40ish when a level 500 flagged me down and dropped and dropped several weapons, ammo, 20 or so stimpacks and a dozen outfits. I dodnt need it but i was happy to tale it. I always try to do the same, if i see a player below level 100 i try to dump tons of supplies for them. Spead the love people.

xiii.gr2: 'testing' our patience more like it.

jacebronson2305: "Bethesda's smartest games ever made." Thats really not a very high bar.

puc_aurawolf: I LOVE the Camp system, especially now, being able to build almost anywhere in so many unique ways is INCREDIBLE!

theshadowknows...9120: I always maintain that Fallout 76 is a game that failed upwards, succeeding often in spite of Bethesda's own self-sabotaging nature. The fact that they genuinely assumed before launch that players would actively work against each other from the get-go (even to the point of nuking each other repeatedly) just shows how out-of-touch they've been from the player base... and then later from the game itself.

We've seen the same thing with CAMP building (removing the ability to double-wall, for instance), monetising (atomic shop cardboard cutouts at the train stations), map expansions (expeditions and Skyline Valley) and so much more. So often it's been the players who have made their own fun. Who could forget the boxing matches found in the Nuclear Winter lobby? The unexpected team-ups and bizarre personal quests? The weird community pile-on of Ward, and the kiting of Grahm away from his barbecue event?

I imagine Bethesda being mystified by their own success, like Max Bialystock in The Producers, asking: "Where did we go right?!"

HypnoGenX: Just started playing the game last week, expecting to hate it. But it's the best damn Fallout 4 expansion ever.

redvoco02: I made a Detective Agency roght outside Watoga So i had Assaultron and Protectron Patrols to guard me since i did the quest to register myself as a resident/Mayor. I made a sign and everything. Id helpmlost players do quests or find in game items. And others would help me! I love ot

mathdemigod8162: I want an elder scrolls TV show, but only if the main character eats 72 cheese wheels in the course of 30 seconds.

ReganMisfitGamer: Surprised too the game has become really robust.

johnalexander7457: I think the game was pushed out too early to cash in on the fallout name.

I don’t think they made some big brain play to intentionally improve their game in the long term by not having much content on launch…

I always like your videos, and I watched this one till the end. But the whole “they’re actually smart for screwing over the players!” Is just a reach to say the least.

jorgenbergman3386: I totally agree with you.

mathdemigod8162: In all of the years I've been playing fallout 76, I only ever had one really negative interaction.

A group wanted to try to kick me out of a radiation rumble event because, if you recall, playing on steam in the early days meant that your username was a random string of numbers and letters. They thought I was a bot, even after I got on voice chat and said that I wasn't.

Other than that, I have never had anything other than incredibly kind, cordial, and helpful interactions with other players. This is absolutely, more than anything else, what keeps me coming back to fallout 76.

tonyclark9250: Bugthesda is just lucky that it has people like us who put up with their crap. All the geniuses already left. Why stories like the fisherman go nowhere or no story at all for Grahm. The players and the community made FO76 a success. If Bugthesda understood that, we'd already be playing FO5 instead of getting a crappy Anniversary Edition of FO4 that didn't even fix basic bugs from the launch of the game 10 years ago. Back to dailies and then NMS.

LandruTheBody: Rick, while you make some very interesting insights and suppositions, I can't possibly give Bethesda credit for this much foresight. You almost make it sounds like they planned it this way from the beginning. It's more likely they learned lessons from the past 7 years only because of their many screwups. If they can somehow use that info to make the next FO game better, more power to them but I don't have my hopes up.

juricarmichael2534: So short you say: "We are game dwellers in Bethesda's Vault experiment of creating a living game set up!?" -- Almost --

fermidox: Fallout 5...when it releases in 2035

trapmouth: Best Fallout map, hands down.

jamesjosephgilchrist6616: Yah idk not so much teams anymore, hardly anyone shares cards post are way down , and so many are spam ads now like bye caps , xp , ect, the servers are disconnecting all the time so I hope they fix that, i already know more stuff on map is going to cause issues so have to see but yah I want to be a orc looking super mutant now cause gule is cool and yes on ESO show as long as most the cast from game of thrones is in it lol

vics7280: I like role playing as a tailor/merchant. Got free clothes and low cost consumables, and I go visiting camps just to shop. Wish camps had a "mailbox" where I could drop items for camp owners to come back to, then better believe I'm gonna upgrade to a mailman wandering the wastes.

TrashPANDABurr: I built a maze so we could get our "K1ll 76 wanted players" its been a lot of fun for my friends and I. I love the 76 community. We are always trying to help each other and other people. Its been great.

KentuckyRanger: I've played FO76 since release, (Over 10K hours) and can tell you first hand, it's the loyal players that's kept this trainwrek rolling.

What's really sad though, is that we veteran players, are the most overlooked element of the game.

They almost lost me, with the last two updates, and will be lucky, that veteran players are still here.

I've been playing in the PTS, and that's they ONLY reason, I haven't moved on, because they've really dropped the ball hard in the last two updates, giving end gamers nothing to do, except gather flowers, and fish..

Jordan-kq3qw: I think the great tragedy in hindsight is going to be how 76 showed exactly what we wanted, and then Bethesda will still not manage to use that information to design future games. The perk system is incredible, but will they use that, or base building, or the types of enemies plauers like to fight, and loot they loke to get. Will there be the things we love from 76 in future games?

moongirl786: I’ve wanted an Elder Scrolls tv show since 2011…

christopherfarmer5824: So smart you got to wear a mask to go into the Wayward, in the bar is a Ghoul, then go to creator hollow 76 like if we are friends, would you like to no more...
