Top 10 Things Only Original Fallout 76 Players Remember

Purpl3Fish_TV: Trap camps is what cost us the fast travel mats.

KentuckyRanger: One thing I really wish they'd bring back, is the Civil War reenactment.

That, plus Survival mode and Nuclear Winter...

candycoatedchump: Remember when you had to level up after level 50 just to change one special point to another?

natedawg6207: I remember how lonely the game felt without human npc's in beta days... back when enemy levelling wasn't scaled to player levels....

cycoholic: Does anyone else remember the event at Cows Spot Creamery? Similar to Feed the People at Mama Dolce, you started the factory to produce cream and would get attacked by feral ghouls. Maybe it was charred ghouls. Don't remember.

I don't think the event survived the Beta testing.

tribunaltimes1862: I remember playing the preorder beta, and then they let us keep our characters when the game officially came out

stephenstrange5663: I miss full damage, survival mode, and even nuclear winter. They should make you choose between raider/settler and opposing faction can always deal you damage, and opposing npc areas would attack you.

cynic5581: I liked the original vision with all the humans in the game actually being players. The game had a liminal space vibe to it that was a bit creepy and very post apocalyptic feeling. Now the game is filled with human NPC's that feel more robotic than robot NPC's with their animatronic movement constantly starting and stopping their slow motion run and always getting stuck on the terrain.

epicender12: I think the best way to readd fast travel mats is to make a check to see if they are within a certain distance from traps. If they meet the criteria, they can be placed. If they're too close to traps or certain defenses, they won't be able to be placed.

Edit: for those who are unaware, they still exist in the game. You just can't use them at camp. The workshops that you can take over around the map still have access to the fast travel points but it only affects your team which is why they are probably still in the game in that capacity

BrandonRecon117: the stash is at 1200 not 800 right now

brettmiller7105: Dude my friend said I was crazy for remembering the fast travel mat. I loved it. My friend looked at me like it never existed and said I was crazy

Wild-Quill-Hickok: I was there I saw it all and I am still playing 76

pbwizard1969: Remember when you actually got legendary drops according to the legendary creature. 3☆ always dropped a 3☆.

CesarSanchez-vk4ei: Ooooh, so thaaaats why I would have random meat stew on my inventory

robertisaac2617: Finding ammo back in the day as well as weapons we're always a pain

SwearMY: The bobby pin thing is hilarious.

grendelmortus7495: What I miss is the bottle cap mines that looked like lunch boxes that we used. Powerful but gone now. And nuclear winter.

pamelann: The fast travel mat is still available, but you can only use it in workshops.

Also, you used to have only 30 items for sale in each camp vendor and each of their inventories was managed separately. Anyone remember color coding them?

PaleSlate-fg9ck: Played since beta, so cool to see how it used to be. Totally forgot about the atomic shop Vault Boy cutout

cjmojica7740: I'm an OG of 76 and rememberr all these things. Thanks for the Throwback Thursday!

GAMarine137: I got the game at launch, and I remember nearly throwing my keyboard because the game would crash in the middle of a quest. I left the game after Wasteland Landers and came back after the TV show. I started a new character and play the game nearly daily.

Bobbyspags: I really miss old school Whitespring. Some of the absolute worst things they have done in their updates have happened at Whitespring.

1. Nerfed spawns

2. Took away robot spawns for low level players

3. Placed the Responders there

4. Never fixed Mischief Night

Love most updates in the game. But they really dropped the ball on Whitespring.

phoschnizzle826: I remember when the enemies in some of the locations (Lewisburg comes to mind) where the enemy type was randomized - maybe Scorched, SuperMutants, or ferals. Not all of the NPC's were an improvement. The QOL improvements have been very useful.

goldfinger76: And I am still here

Ray_Rhoads: They got rid of the fast travel mat because people were setting it up to fast travel directly into traps and to stop those griefers.
