Shopping Cartkaiseromen: Having the map THAT restricted is so wild. I was so looking forward to building around the river and those hills to the south of Burning Springs but this bottlenecking you in sucks so much. Skyline Valley had amazing build spots introduced and the Ghoul update even added some, why are we being crammed with "the biggest update ever"?
Jakenh84: 3 guarantees in life: death, taxes, and a banger Mr Church video calling out Bethesda’s BS.
sirlloyn9115: The Ghoul already stands outside Vault 76. I think they just didnt want to use most of the map because it was a rush job to drop alongside Season 2 Fallout.
ThatBugBehindYou: When people said they've been wanting to cross that bridge for years they didn't mean they literally ONLY wanted to cross the bridge lmao, how shoe stringed together is this game that they can't even add this without you being able to cross the river? There's really NO other way to make players play the quest when they first enter Ohio? I mean really what a load.
MrJoshuaAM: "I think I might know what that reason is..."
Me: "the map has to load from that point or some technical issue."
"So they can force you to start the questline."
Lancars: I knew this update was too good to be true. I thought about making some kinda bridge home but i'll still get that stupid "can't go that way" crap when i get out into the water. What a huge fumble.
christophercarignan8592: Love fallout, but they are missing out on so much. They should be adding big chunks of new states as expansions. I feel like this game could be a World of Warcraft type game if they would actually do expansions. There is so much potential.
wolfstar_productions: Totally agree with Mister Church. I was bummed out that I could not just cross by way of the river, and or have new area(s) to build.
Pyrocy: One of the devs in the discord said that portions of the inaccessible areas near the river are for future content of some kind. Most likely for fishing.
wurstlander: The Starlight drive-in workshop is a 1:1 copy of the one in Fallout 4. I'm not complaining, it's more shit to do, and it looks nice, but it was uncanny that the roof structure failed in the same place in the same way and that every other detail is the same. :P
gamingdungeon8094: They have repeatedly stated in the discord server that the reason for the borders is that the areas are planned for future content and they would rather not risk making peoples camps removed if the area they chose becomes a POI.
JimTyphoon: This would have been a perfect opportunity to add one of my personal favorite landmarks, the bridge from Newell WV to East Liverpool OH (now called the Wayne Six Bridge, one of the last of its kind) and I was hoping they might do it as it's a famous connection between the two sides of the Ohio River. Really disappointed
user-cz9jf1ec8s: “Biggest” update ever.
Doesn’t even have a new raid.
When this update releases we will have been running the same raid for a whole year.
They’ve had a whole year and still couldn’t give us new end-game content.
Rainyday1724: I hate that we are not going to be able to build across the river. I was hoping to be able to make a great fishing camp and make a bridge.
yochaoss: Being able to utilize that river for building was legit what had me excited to play agin. Once agin Bethesda ruins it for players
jackey6149: tbh the restricted map should really only be for the first few quests
have it so a very deadly sand storm has kicked up and you need to take a set path
after a few quests just have the walls go down so people can just fucking cross the river
NotNuka: Can't build in random areas because there is likely an Abraxo Suitcase thing to collect nearby.
lisap9592: Thanks for the info. Mr Church…Release the river banks!
blindhitman4207: To be fair its public test server atm, so it could change a bit. Also side note it could also be a different area/update
MercurySunlight76: Thank you for pointing out this major suck factor.
JimTyphoon: Also: point of order, the Mothman wasn't blamed, he was warning everyone
SkaerKrow: The reason for the aggressive blocking of access to Burning Springs could have something to do with asset load considerations. Games essentially stream data constantly so that you don't get load screens for traversing the world, and as you progress in one direction or another, it queues up those assets in anticipation of your movements. With Skyline Valley, the buffer between Cranberry Bog/Savage Divide is relatively light on content, but the Forest is full of events, POIs, and quest related assets. To keep the game from having to load Burning Springs even when you're just making your way along the Ohio River, they may have restricted the crossing point to the bridge in order for that specific place to be the load trigger for the zone. Not ideal, and I really dislike it, but there may be more going on here than just Bethesda hamfisting us into a questline.
louskywalker9656: That's why you're my favorite fallout76 YouTuber. You honest and straight to the point. Unlike some of the other shills on here, you can visualize them cupping tod Howard balls.
TheTwoTwoForReal: Is that Starlight Drive In a literal 100% copy from Fallout 4?
Alexdraculas1988: It so lazy.. no preexisting locations makes me sad
henrybrown8727: They took the NV aesthetic seriously by railroading us into their quest, it seems.
