donnydew0325: Its because in the beginning there was legit no one apart from robots. No regular NPCs. So when the time came when they actually had NPCs they didnt do shit to the original story. The entire story is to just show you around the map thats it

VincentTheBadGuy: It is really tragic. The game is in technical terms better than Fallout 4, but it is still held back by Bethesda's bad habits, and the insistence on the game being a live service.

You have to do the responders portion for the cure and the raiders part for Rosy's help (both are non optional parts to complete the Wastelanders questline), but you can completely skip the Free States and Brotherhood portions due to no questlines needing anything from them. You go to the cave with the enclave invite and can join them early, skipping those two. I havent completed the enclave questline after doing the skip mind you (since i dont wana), but i dont see why it would stop you from completing it otherwise.
