Some problems with catching them has been not being able to upgrade stuff on the rod to catch the stuff that you need to catch the more difficult fish xD

LeTon75: The repair fishing rod doesn't actually do anything as no damage is recorded or taken by the rod. It's just a bug as they had to use the weapon mechanic to allow for upgrading and customisation. I'm sure it will be taken out the game with the punch card patch next week.

Glad I haven't bothered with the fishing farce. I'd be seriously annoyed if I'd wasted my time trying to catch rare fish only to discover my rod needed repairing but didn't indicate anywhere that it did.

user-mlwri613: This is just more broken Bethesda code. Yes, you can go in and repair your rod, but you can also immediately go back in and do the repair again right after you "repaired" your rod.

enejkrajnc6278: I think u can repair it because its actually melee, it buggs sometimes i hit a molerat few times when fishing it does 0 dmg xD
