I Investigated Fallout 76s Hidden Economy Rare Loot, Plans Apparel Beyond the Cap Limit

wolfredbeard5871: And this is why normal players can't find anything....

QuickLern818: Great job, ShySloth. Amazing ingenuity taking this route: i look forward to your future endeavors outside the box.

syedtrakc: Please make more videos that are fallout exposes This is one of the best fallout 76 content creator videos I’ve seen.

megasurge93: The cap limit was only 20000 for a while when FO76 first started. They increased the cap limit to 40000 later on. That was the increase.

rudyripple4355: This is the best F76 video I've seen in...years? Not just the same old "read Bugthezduh's latest announcements off their site" or "How to tweak your Raid build after the monthly nerf" - video.

Of course I noticed when I'd search topics that people were using Leaders but I never looked into it so this was interesting and the roleplaying interview style was awesome and the cuts to you nodding and winking were hilarious. haha, Well Done!

moseschrute2582: The wink got me Absolutely incredible shy!! amazing work thanks for taking the time to make this

exquirentibus: Nice! Original way to present this story.

shawns2321: I don't agree on the guy who said he wants a centralized marketplace with a message board. That would just make those that abuse the systems more powerful as they would go around snatching up everything server to server within minutes.

ronblue7: 1K Leader Bobbles?! Damn!!

JamesElmquist: This is actually awesome fallout 76 content thank you for the good documentary

beastabuelos6421: I'm not a trader, though i do have a bit to say about this. I have traded a few things here and there in the past before leaders were currency. I'll rewatch the video and comment on it as it goes.

8:04 that's a great way to frame it. But for someone like me, i don't love it, but i also don't need it. The one glowing mask i wanted, the glowing robot, i got it. All of my armor has the 4 stars i want, all of my important weapons and many of my just for fun weapons also have their 4 stars. I have pretty much everything else i want in the game, besides knowing how to craft every legendary mod.

I am one of the people that rejects the leader economy. Though i do not believe they should be made untradable. More things should be tradable, not less. Like why can i not trade someone a fully custom weapon, but i CAN drop them a pre rolled weapon with 4 legendary mods that they can put on themselves? Just let me give them the whole thing as one unit. But my thing is, leaders have no value to me. I'm level 2300 or so, i haven't cared about xp since like level 600. And i get that they're "money", but the difference is, in real life, you can't live in society without money. You can easily play 76 without "money" or trading. Same goes for stuff like rare apparel. TFJ, TLC and glowing masks are worthless to me, because i don't place value in things simply because they are rare. Those clothes and most of the glowing masks are FUGLY, i would never wear them, so they are worthless to me.

the cap limit did increase once. It started at 30k, it was raised to 40k when the aristocrat legendary mod was added, since you have to be at 30k for full effect, or you did when it was added, i think it's changed now. But they wanted people to be able to use the effect and still use some money.

yes, absolutely, increase the limit, or get rid of it altogether. But if they do just increase it, it needs to be a HUGE increase, like a million, or a few million.

like the grand exchange in runescape. It's a trading hub where you can submit your item and set a minimum price you'll accept for it. Then you just go play. Check it later and it's probably sold. Same for buying. Select the item you want, the most you'll pay for it and keep playing. Often enough the trade is (or was, haven't played in like 15 years) instant. It requires no player interaction. It's fully automated and it works across servers, so you're not limited to the pool of people on the server like you are for vendors in 76. And i don't think this would hurt camp vendors at all. People still did traditional trading in runescape after they added the grand exchange.

runescape has this too. And not just agree, but it has to be a double confirmation. Each side has to agree TWICE before the trade goes through.

Bethesda has talked about implementing a 2 party confirmation trade menu, even said they've been working on it and put it on a roadmap back when they were still doing roadmaps. I think that was the roadmap where a ridiculously large amount of stuff they had on it just never came. Like they had put camp pets on a roadmap way before they were actually added and 4 stars too. They haven't talked about it in at least like 3 years now.

this is exactly why I'm not going to trade for leaders. If the market changes and they lose their value overnight and I've traded away all my valuable stuff for leaders that are now worthless, I'm left with nothing. As it is now, I've got multiple Susan's soothin plans, gatling plasma mod plans, tons of other valuable plans i can't even remember because I've been holding them for years. I have very high levels of harder to obtain junk i could trade and i can craft many sought after legendary effects, including some of the head hunt ones, like lucid and the evade chance one. I even have plenty of rare apparel, because even though it's worthless to me, i know others will want it and if it ever does lose value, i haven't lost anything, because i got it for free. But there is no market for someone like to me to be trading these things. Call it generational wealth i guess, since at this rate I'll be passing them on in my will ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

yes, do more videos like this. It will be good for the community and good for your channel. I've seen plenty of people do lore, or mystery hunting type stuff, but this is more investigative journalism about the game in a meta sense, that i don't think anyone else is really doing.

C_To_A: it would help if there were subtitles on what the people you are interviewing are saying it’s hard to understand what they are saying due to the distortion

shawns2321: That interview bit is crazy

Mathius-theo: This isn't hidden. You just need the chat mod. That is if they don't ban you just for saying something they don't like. They regularly sell duped and/or legacy items as well.

rjmminis: The first time I went on a trading subreddit and saw people trying to get like 500 Leaders for something, I knew this was just a way to enable dupers to monetise their cheating

aWellPlacedGrenade: this is the thing I cant stand the fact that I need to grind tirelessly while other people just printed free money.

bethesda NEEDS to do a reset and wipe of excess bobbleheads. even if some people complain. leave a reasonable amount on each account and wipe the rest

Rome1979-Playstation: That was so freaking creative!!! I told my daughter to stop what she was doing to check out your new video with me. It was so hilarious and very well thought out. I didn’t know there was a cap limit, that’s crazy! They definitely need to make it higher for sure. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this awesome video!!

paulgratton-dd6ui: Interesting video ! Thanks ! Peace from Canada !!!

Hypnogely: I feel like this is all part of the game. Trading was built into the game before vendors. If you're willing to trade a rare glowing mask for a 4 star legendary, what's the difference with trading the mask for 30 Leader Bobbleheads?

aestevalis0: Oh, I thought this was gonna be about third-party real money sites.

The-House-of-Seven: It also should be mentioned that leaders didn't really become currency when legendary crafting happened. ll3's were the original trade currency it shifted from live and love 3's to leader bobbleheads because Bethesda nerfed ll3's.

FlorianOlivier-t1o: Great Video .. a Campitem that is like a bartertable of sorts and two player sit down with a proper Trademenu would be great and would encourage the trading in general i think

user-cz9jf1ec8s: We need a proper trade window

And the ability to post items in our vendors in exchange for something other than caps

The-House-of-Seven: Atoms are bought with, wait for it...real money.

Chill_Gaming76: Before bobbleheads there was the magazine chaos that played out rapidly destroying alternative currencies before we landed on the Leader.

LobitoGamingTV: cool video! i remember trading the god rolls, the explosive plasma and flamers. but i also remember trading for flux and magazines.

its not the leader bobbleheads that are the problem.. its a hard cap on caps and above all the very present hacking. modding and duping in the game... this has been a issue since the start.

even know there are bots running the raid that wall glitch and one hit the snake. Bethesda never really tackled the cheating that inflated the economy. actually the traders had to adept to the contamination of trade resources every time.
