HUGE Changes Coming to Caravans in Fallout 76!

beegnewton1001: They think we're supposed to just forget about one of the best NPCs that they can't "fix".. They just keep cramming future bugged out content. Come on Bethesda, where's Windy?..

HansoMo: Where are the 2 missing traders?

it's almost a year...

hughejasse1: Bethesda is like a home builder that finishes the build but doesn't inspect it before moving on. When told that the roof is leaking the response is "we know it's leaking but what if we give you this instead" and digs out a pond in the back yard handing us a fishing rod. They claim that someday they'll fix the roof but meanwhile we should buy some wallpaper and a hat from their store. They introduce weapons and armor, we grind for it, then they nerf those weapons and armor, then dangle more shinies in front of us to do all over again. It's beyond me how people reward them with a F1st sub. Regardless, thanks for the video and take care.

allangelsscream: It’s disappointing how little Bethesda listens to player feedback. Setting a time limit doesn’t really show effort into fixing the pathing issues, no update on the additional characters for Milepost Zero. It’s like once caravans went live they abandoned finishing them and instead went on to focus on new content and this bizarre fixation with weapons and builds. Introduce a new fishing mechanic and a fishing camp contest but only the first week of the season had any fishing related atomic shop items. Instead it’s just all mega bundles of old content for high cash grab prices. And while they hype up all the changes coming, we are left to wonder how much will be dumped on us half finished while they insist the issues aren’t bugs, they’re features.

keithday1982: I just had the thought if they gave a 4 star item for completing a caravan every one would be doing caravans

mystic9314: It looks like they are more worried with nerfing ppls builds every single patch instead of fixing bugs or crashes it’s actually so sad to see

bradleygronski817: I want caravans to be throughout the wasteland with interactive npcs that you meet at the end. Easy

MrTehru: Honestly, before fishing, I don’t think I had done a caravan for months. My supplies are maxed out completely, and there was literally no reason. That said I run a lot of them now because it’s an easy way to get bait. You can run at least three of them without costing any or much money soyou might as well. And anytime somebody runs one I always jump in because again it’s just a great and easy way to get improved bait. I’m now sitting it over 200 which is not a huge amount considering I’m pretty casual but you know I think it’s enough for me to get the rest of the fish I need. So that’s cool.

AdamWarehime-h6q7w: They should just fix it an all the bugs instead of all the nerfs

paulgratton-dd6ui: I enjoy helping others do the caravans,so the seven minute change is welcome.Especially when helping low level players running their first caravan.Good change.

ToxicHorrorTV: I think we are stuck with this engine because todd refuses to learn how to use a new engine.

It's so old and broken, it's like my back, carrying too much and can't take it no more.

As for the bugged npcs they've not released, how knackered are they if bethesda did not release them?

ianhorn5466: Disappointing. Not sure why they don't just change that area where the brahmin usually gets stuck to make pathing easier rather than this bodged solution. Another person who wants the new vendors here. 1000 supplies is reached pretty easily and I could also do with the cap sink of running many caravans.

stitchfan08: I do like that everyone can get the same amount of supplies

radwolf8794: there also a nerf on vats in the test server too

HeartShapedMonster: insane that it has been almost a year and they cant fix it... what are they doing w the money they do out of this game?

BuenoMcgurski: PSA when your caravan gets stuck, all players have to fast travel away for 1-2 minutes so the brahmin despawns, when you come back the cow will respawn and it will be fixed. Or it will die when you are away, in which case you can start a new one. That is the only way to fix when they get stuck at that one bad area shown in the video

nukacolanut6095: Caravans have so much potential...I hope they don't give up on vendors and add on activities.

CogsFixmore: I just want Caravans to be all over the map, not just sky vally.

Square-0ne: Oh no, they are half-assing it again. So we are getting a cheap workaround and participation trophies for everyone instead of a repairing the bugs (and adding the missing NPCs)? And one more event that feels like out of a mobile game? This is just sad. And I would prefer they do not tease "the largest update ever" for the end of the year when they are unable or unwilling to fix basic engine and gameplay issues. It will just lead to more disappointment on the players side when the update falls short again.

TheBigIronOnMyHip: They do everything to make people abandond this game so bethesda can just sit and be lazy while preparing Fallout 4.5

volta1492: GIVE US WINDY ALREADY!!

Nathan_Drinkwater: I think the problem is they are encountering the limits of the dreadful 'GameBryo' engine or whatever they call the most recent iteration. They can only do so much. The in-depth pathing required by the Brahmins to navigate the broken or at least extremely rough terrain manager would put too many performance demands on the platforms they target. After all, even the next-gen consoles are nearly five years old now. This timer is perhaps the most obvious sticking plaster I have seen--they are effectively saying 'we give up'. What the game really needs is being ported onto a better, more optimized game engine such as the much-praised Unreal. However by this point that would mean effectively producing an entirely new title, 'Fallout 77' as it were. Although from things we have heard about other Bethesda remakes it seems they are starting to move in that direction. I doubt very much if 76 will ever get that treatment itself though.

For the game itself, far more worrying than the Brahmin timer are the new rules that add a penalty to AP cost for weapons that have enchantments applied to them. I think that is going to be the end of the line for some players after all the 'rebalancing' of the last two patches and the one still coming. I am not a critical-every-shot lunatic myself, but if it adds to the already greatly increased AP demands for weapons in VATS then it may well be the place where I finally part company with the game. Which is sad, but... At its heart I think it is what Bethesda want; veterans stop playing so the field is more level for new players who come to the game because they like the TV programme. I suspect they also hope we will conveniently forget to cancel 1st as well...

MonsterHobbieShow: I think caravans should be about the cow with the cargo following you around and delivering them to settlements, the farther away from the Milepost zero the higher the reward. So imagine taking one of those to the crater.

So basically you have to walk from Milepost Zero to the settlements (which there are lots to choose from already) by picking a destination before starting and deliver the cargo, there is no need to have enemies spawn to attack you since you already have a lot of enemies throughout the maps and it's your choice to take longer routes if you want to avoid encounters.

A few of the destinations I can think of could be:

.The crater

.the Wayward

.Gilman Lumber Mill

.Blue Ridge Bunkhouse

.Ohio River Adventures

.Whitesprings

.The Rusty Pick

.Foundation

.Settlers Ridge

.Fort Atlas

.The Retreat

.Middle Mountain Pitstop

.The Rose room

.Nuka World on Tour

.The Coop

.Lewis & Sons Farming Supply

.Big Bend Tunel East

.Big Bend Tunel west

ConvelBlade: I have feeling they going to leave the cryptic hunter rewards for Atomic shop

INt3rDieMenti0nal: We're all annoyed that Bethesda doesn't seem to focus on the bugs or listen to the player base first, before their planned stuff. Don't get me wrong, as someone who loves CAMP building, and having FO1st, I do love new items. And honestly, I am happy that they did something to help at least!

A few days ago I did a caravan, had 3 other players helping and my brahmin got stuck, in a corner between the rocks and a junk wall. It would not move no matter what we did. You can't reject the mission like you can with the Raid, so I had to wait for the timer to finish. Honestly, I do appreciate this. because I didn't get any rewards for that stuck caravan, spent the caps to start it and the time it took.

CalebNomar: I want the new traders they were supposed to be adding in awhile back especially the trader Wendy

zacharymccants77: If they aren’t going to put Windy in the game, then they need to at the very least unlock her snow globe for us so that we can complete the display.
