Borescoped: I keep getting non fishing reel plans… seems like you need Mark 2 reel and at least 1 mod to catch the axolotl, from all the comments I’ve read all over the place.

I need something that allows me to swing cone of reeling in faster, sometimes I get something hooked and I just can’t swing it around the circle fast enough.

hughejasse1: I agree that the Mire location was pretty easy but I didn't catch my banded there. I naturally caught it near Crater on my second cast because rng. Used a Mark 2 with improved bait but no other mods; keep getting camp items from the daily. Also caught a glowing ambusher with the same setup in a nuke zone. Nice detective work btw. shingouki1693: It's possible to catch an axolotl with the mark 1 reel and the advanced drag. I caught mine near the kiddie corner cabins in the toxic valley using a nuke station weather machine.

Edit: forgot to say it was with improved bait, not superb.

invicta6110: I was trying to fish at location #2 yesterday, that pool is difficult to get the mini game to activate. Was also getting irradiated pretty quickly so Chinese stealth armor would be good.

scottshep8978: Does the weather affect the chance to catch it? Can you catch it with common bait?

Those two questions would be helpful to know and would have been useful to put into the video.

dlsisson1970: I caught my banded axolotl not far from the pool in toxic valley you matched up with the photo.

Now I just need to finish the regional fish I haven't already finished, get the rare ones to get the plan for the mark 4 and then go after the 3 local legends. Should be done by the time the season is over. :P

brucewarren9281: Yes region is what matters. I got my first, at my camp, on about the 6th cast with the Mach 2 reel, rocket bobber, steady handle and of course improved bait. It took me 70 improved bait to catch all the fish for the Mach 3 reel.

lukemacneil5995: I don't know about fallout RNG but I caught an Axolotol at the wavy Willard while hunting the local legend.

osker4738: Most importantly, repair your rod. There is no health bar, but trust me. I stopped catching uncommon fish out of nowhere and couldn't figure out why, after repairing my rod it was amost an immediate difference.

Surprisingly though all three of the glowing fish(ambushers) were caught on comman bait in a non nuke zone

deadeyeskunkgaming: Is it true that improved bait at minimum is required? I was able to catch all the regional fish required with common bait.
