Fallout 76 Is AntiArmor Still A Relevant Effect?

mongothedestroyer88: Look how they massacred my boy. From the best full health weapon mod to garbage tier. Rip Anti Armor. You will be missed.

IMBREISGAU: Man, Bloodied vs Anti-Armor was like East Coast vs. West Coast kinda thing lmao.

montagmouse: That's actually really interesting. It almost feels like with the buff for damage, the anti-armor wasn't given proper adjustment or it's just not worth it anymore. Thanks!

hyperionlink: There is a test dummy floating, immortal ghoul at one of the northern military outposts in the cranberry bog.

ImperatorNocturne: even more worthless if you have tank killer equipped, that perk alone should give you all the armor penetration you'll ever need

madskoomacat: tbh they should change anti armor to apply an effect like tenderizer, make it a group type support gun, similar to what they did to medic. We have enough damage effects and furious will stay on top for a while.

TechBrewGamer: I love how the big mighty super mutant behemoth is not doing anything. you are getting a fire hydrant pole slamed on you and it just does 2 pts. lol

hyperionlink: I've been curious about this since they started doing the overhaul. AA seemed underwhelming.

9Nifty: So basically low dmg high fire rate weapons the anti armor is highly impactful. Every other weapon don't bother.

Mothdust.Gaming: It would be interesting to run the AA tests using another player as the target to see if you get the same results. Vary the different armor worn by the victim, ahem "volunteer", to change resistances. If you get different results, it would mean that the formula for enemies and for players to calculate damage isn't the same. That would be interesting indeed.

I've also seen damage vs AA charts, and there's a significant drop off as AA approaches over a threshold and becomes useless. It might be that the sweet spot for AA is around 50-60%, which is easy to get with Tank Killer and a penetrating mag mod.

beastabuelos6421: I converted my heavy guns and shotguns to furious, but my other builds don't have room for onslaught. I'll probably wait until the new adrenal effect is added and change to that. Don't really want to craft like 50 juggernauts or mutants boxes just to swap them all in a few months. I think adrenal will be the new full health/ghoul top tier

Poke-ladd: Honestly I can't really tell if anti armour does anything like even with the perk which does 20-40% Armour piercing

OmegaSutol: Yeah, we cam trust the floating numbers

Meanwhile Ultracite Gatling with beta wave is dealing as low as -41 per hit on super mutants

pinpetos: Thanks for doing the work so we don't have to!

TheOutsider-vc1hy: Anti-armor is in a weird spot. You want high rate-of-fire weapons, which are usually low alpha damage, or weapons that shoot multiple projectiles like shotguns. It would've been a better test between the Combat Shotgun, the black-powder rifle, and the minigun.

So, the weaker your weapons, armor-piercing becomes more valuable as a stat to stack. The faster your gun fires adds to this benefit. A Combat Shotgun with perforating magazine, armor pen legendary would probably be better suited than a Combat Shotgun with a drum and Juggernaut.

WarrenRoyal: In the behemoth example, could the fact that he was so close range in the later tests have skewed the numbers? In the first tests, he was far away and may have had some damage drop off.

Pigs.in.space.: I wonder if there is any way to rework the perk to make it worth running for more weapons?

mattgalek4475: Only weapons I ever had with anti armor were the ones that I couldn't just throw a armor penetrating mag on and add the related perk for armor penetration. My original rule of thumb used to be at least 50% penetration, but with tank killer effecting all ranged weapons now its pretty much useless. Rip aa

leehelck4606: i have a couple AA mods in my main's stash. i was saving them in case they might become useful. after watching this video i think i'm going to scrap them for the legendary modules.

Oak_Sindacco: You'll definitely see a difference against the mirelurk queen that's for sure lol. She's one tough SOB

Shade______dumbnamerestriction: would it be the same result with other damage type like fire, energy, etc ... ?

FluffButtWolf: So what would be a good 1 star effect for the gauss minigun with a full health PA build ? Juggernauts I imagine?

ferdinandoleone4549: The video is old because a pinch of salt is still in luck, after October 21st a pinch of salt is in intelligence

I-D0nt-Care_1701: Bethesda should rework the Anti-Armor effect and add Bleeding over time to the Armor penetration. Correct me if I’m wrong, but there’s no ranged weapon in the game that has bleeding effect and then add bloody mess on top. Could be a great way to get AA back to the top tier effects, when done right. But that’s probably wishful thinking… Todd!!!

Local_Dirtbag__42069: lol anti armor has just become a placebo effect.
