therealcryss: I just stopped fishing, because it is too frustrating. I don't have access to other mods besides Reel 2 and can't get any of these harder fishs let alone the Axolotl. I tried for a whole day and I just lose them because the f... thing jumps to the other side of the radar and the drag over is far too slow. They feel MUCH harder than Leatherback and the Piranha for Reel 2. I don't call this a challenge, it is just 100% frustration.

Also I miss most of the events because I can't open the map while fishing.

nocturnechanson: I find I like the third camera position because it puts the bobber directly in front of the camera.

pcolamojoe8840: The drag is killing me. I find that I'm fighting the fish ok but he's so close to the edge that because of poor drag to center that it escapes easily. Also you can change your POV(third person camera) to one that's on the bobber when you tap once at the fishing screen. Keep cycling and it will put you behind the bobber. It helps alot in rainy weather.

julianzepeda2398: The plan drop rates are like the gat plas plans all over again you can only get them one way we should be able to get the fishing rod plans as a rare reward feeding the crab fish bits or something to help. Cause it’s bs that Theres fish that magically dash to the other side of the radar man

SourChicken1856: Yeah fishing isn't fair at all. The uncommon fish either start at the other side of the circle or move to close to the edge to be able to catch them on time.

What is bethesda doing? How do they fuck up FISHING this bad? It's near impossible to get the MK mods.

2shoes155: Fo76 is starting to have a lot in common with Terraria. Crafting, decorating, boss killing, cooking buffs, build crafting and now fishing.

Hopefully they keep updating the system. Maybe we could get a world of Warcraft type rare fishing event that can spawn at x:10, x:30, x:50. And camps should have a weather indicator on the map. Go full on terraria and fish up a boss in a nuke zone.

PolloSenseii: To learn the fishing rod mods.. you can use the mule/throw away character to farm them. Start a new character, read note outside vault to fast travel to Fisherman's Keep.. complete quest daily... Transfer your plans/bait to main... Delete character and restart... each run takes about 20 mintues...(Can also take a quick peak inside Valley Galleria for the refrigerators to find more bait.)

Isamudyson84: I've caught the axolotl with improved bait and stormy weather without much issues. Also have had almost no issues catching ashen ambusher with common bait. I'm at 9 ambushers and 6 glowing ambushes with common bait, and a nuke weather machine.

LunaC101: to those getting frustrated I just wanted to say that i received the advanced drag today and it makes everything so much easier, just persist until you get it and you will be surprised how much easier it is!

Kevin-ir2wd: Some great tips. I didn’t realise the plans were tradeable and you could use alts to do the dailies. Didn’t notice the direction of the fish when caught either. Thanks.

logancuellar5707: Thank you so much for your Tips & Tricks, always helpful. Not sure if anyone else has mentioned that if you are willing to eat cereal for a few days, the Atomic Angler Bundle has the bait resource generator. Similar to the Santatron Collectron Station trick, you can put one in multiple workshops and farm bait for the time you are on the server. Works best if you are on a private server of course. While your lighting trick is great, for a quick stop to try out a new location, I found that having your pipboy light on while you fish also helps when the float is hard to see.

lunarhexagon8108: rod upgrades should come from crab, not dailies (or from both), or some rod upgrade should be at least guaranteed till you get all, because isnt anything more annoying in this than wanting ANY upgrade ony to get already learned plan for ugly dirty sofa thing, only rod upgrade I got was from "challange"

making 5 characters and do whole inventory thransfer schenanigans shouldnt be required to get to at least decent progression reasonabůy in my opinion

biostemm: They really need to allow the world map to be scrolled further to the left, since the right side is taken up by tracked quests, {or put them in their own window on the world map view)....
