Krishnath.Dragon: Axolotl Fact: Axolotl's are incredibly popular in the aquarium hobby, and while it is critically endangered in the wild, most captive axolotl's are actually tank bred. This has actually helped create a fairly thriving industry in its native Mexico, where locals have started capturing and breeding wild axolotl's, growing out the young, returning a portion to the wild and selling the rest. Unfortunately, the main threat to wild axolotl isn't overfishing, but rather pollution, so time will tell if this project will bring it back from the edge of extinction in nature.

Sandyman406: I’m trying to get the third level fishing challenge. Every time I get a rare fish hooked the radar is 180° from my starting position and the fish is at the circle’s edge. No way to get anywhere near the fish. This ain’t my bad, this is by effin’ design.

Tundra_archer: I hate how you need the mark 2 reel to catch rare fish even slightly reliably but you have to catch 3 rare fish to get it ive been grinding for it for 3 days now

aestevalis0: Slightly off-topic, a bug I've found is that stored fish can still be turned into fish bits. I had a glowing piranha stashed & it was still showing up in the cooking menu, so be careful if you're storing fish to be displayed later.

kenobi1125: Ok, I really don't care for fishing. in game or IRL. And I've had crap luck with this season, I don't know what rare fish are, but Axoloti and glowing aren't them. That said, I set up a camp with the snow right by the retreat and actually caught the Axo on my 2 improved bait cast.

Though yeah the idea you need to catch rare to upgrade, but you need the upgrade to catch rare is the worst mechanic. Im stuck with the Mk2 reel and I believe the steady handle.

The_Lone_Outlaw: I think I’ve hooked an axi like 6-7 times but I’m struggling like a motherfucket to actually reel it in. I have the mk2 with the advanced drag and I just cannot physically keep up with how fast and far he moves around the wheel. Like it’s literally impossible yet it seems everyone else finds them to be pretty easy once you hook them.

Does anyone know how to actually reel these little fuckers in? I’ve tried advanced drag and the improved catch zone size mod, the only thing I think of is maybe going for increased rotation speed???
