Bethesda Finally Responded to the HUGE Fallout 76 Mistake...

colonelb: From a PR perspective, Bethesda really should just eat the cost. Otherwise, it's going to be a complete and total disaster - say you had 3,000 atoms, and then your account jumped up to 6,000 atoms, and you weren't paying attention and bought 4 bundles each worth 1,000 - who decides which bundle needs to get removed? and if they take a bundle away that you bought and maybe that bundle isn't available anymore by the time you go back in - that sort of thing would cost so much goodwill that it really is best for them to say, "we screwed up, if you got free stuff, merry Christmas" and just patch it so that moving forward that doesnt happen again.

potatopells: Anything with atoms or the shop they fix immediately. But if it doesn't affect them financially urgent, then they'll forget us.

dalelawson28: Any time we get weapons that do damage that we're actually able to do stuff that does damage, but Thesda. Nerfs it

stevenkunkle3857: I've been grinding all those stupid quests that award 40 atoms here and there, I will be beyond pissed if my rightfully won atoms disappear

malikto1: They could give every player 10,000 atoms and it wouldn't cost them a penny. They make an estimated $10-$20 million a year on Atom sales.

whskytngo: Interesting how they can fix a problem in a day if it involves the things people have to pay for but the host of other problems last for months.

martinsonofwar395: Still waiting for my orbital strike beacons to work again.

Angelshae: Meanwhile I paid for fallout 1st a week ago and still haven't gotten my perks / atoms. As well as been ghosted by support...

mblair5327: The last time a free atom glitch happened they warned spending them can result in a ban. They ended up telling players they can keep them. It was probably a hassle to figure out how much to take away from players. That bug was caused by server hopping meat week for some reason. Every time I server hopped my atoms total would change. It was fun lol.

fishman_tony: Haven't seen my Fallout 1st atoms in 2 months. Tried reaching out to them multiple times with proof.

Ahibasabala: I don't believe that atom thing happened. The sheer gravitational force of Bethesda's miserliness, means free atoms to players is a physical impossiblity, it just can't occur in this universe

jexterjackson3087: In fact...

We buy Atoms FROM Bethesda.

Who do we sell Atoms TO?

trentkage8334: If Bethesda bans players for the corporation’s mistake: that would be ripe for a class action lawsuit.

SavageKaoticGaming: Lost atoms sounds crazy how wtf

paulrodriguez6784: They keep f***ing this game up I'm slowly weaning my way off of this game I'm about sick of it

patrickcumming7624: I don't see them banning accounts. It is not the players fault for an error on their end. Maybe see them removing purchased items using incorrectly given Atoms. I received them but thought it was due to the new event as a perk for paying for Fallout 1st. Just got back into the game and wasn't trying to look a gift horse in the mouth.

KetoFitChef: They’re getting TERRIBLE when it comes to the Atomic Shop and I’m sure it has everything to do with their new Finance Guy.

I’ve heard of people accidentally buying relatively cheap stuff, then submitting a ticket and getting refunded their Atoms and being told to keep the items.

Back a couple weeks ago when we had to keep re-equipping our Emotes, I accidentally bought one that looked like one I owned already, but would hardly use it. I reached out and they refunded the Atoms, but removed the Emote.

I really didn’t care that they took it, but I felt a little snubbed that they were letting people keep Camp items that were 500-1000 Atoms, but they removed a 350 Atom Emote ️

Oldenfox64: I might sound like an old square but i would just contact them and let them know caps i didn`t purchase were in my account and to remove them so the account doesn`t get banned i put in a yrs worth of work into my game.

Hejsa23454: Im afraid we Will have to wait years to progress the burning springs story, I liked the update, but for real the story felt so incomplete and short, i nearly thought it was a joke

SavageKaoticGaming: System keeps up with everyone stats

jtrent4942: I may 2 accidentally purchases and notified Bethesda. I never even got a single response from them.

AidenTrombley: 6:39 I don’t think PlayStation really has a problem with that

2kool4rock: Wasn't personally affected by this atoms bug/glitch but i noticed that while building there where atom shop items available to build for free like the police siren light from that jail bundle and I'm wondering if it's going to be removed or what? ️

KentuckyRanger: It makes me chuckle, that you said Bethesda is losing money over this.

Especially when Atomic Shop items are purely digital, cost nothing to create, and garner 100% profit.

If say, 100 people, get $100k's worth of Atoms, and spend them on stuff, Bethesda is out nothing, if you really think about it, LOL!

I remember, back in the early days, Bethesda allowed us to place Atomic Shop items in other players C.A.M.P.s, until they realized, that it was cutting into their bottom line, LOL!

Moving forward, I hope they reimburse the lost Atoms, and let the rest go, as a good will gesture.

Otherwise, it'll blow up in their faces, if they go after the players, who received bonus Atoms, and spent them.

If I log into my account, and I've suddenly got $200 worth of Atoms in my account, there's no way I'm spending it!

But that's not going to stop someone else.

Remember, Atoms are like Bitcoin, it's fictitious currency, sold for real money.

Yes, 5000 Atoms, equates to $50, but only if someone paid for it.

If you receive 5000 Atoms, and buy 5000 Atoms worth of digital stuff, you haven't caused anyone to lose out on anything.

Yes, I know, "What about all those workers, who developed those digital creations?!"

Yes, they were paid to develop those digital creations.

But once created, it costs nothing to mass produce them.

It would be a totally different thing, if players were spending Atoms on say, Bethesda gear, like physical bubbleheads, shirts, and collectable items, because they're made at factories, by Human hands.

Anyway, I personally wouldn't spend the Atoms, but people who get them, and spend them, shouldn't be hit too hard.

Even if they did, the most I would do, is take all the items they purchased back, and leave it at that, LOL!

lonedragon3261: What platform(s) did this happen on?

Man...I guess I have to write down how many atoms I have at any given time now? That's a chore I don't want to do. I have no idea how many atoms I have at any given time because I just get them for 1st every month and almost never buy bundles...only a small item here and there, usually the daily discount. So I've never really had to keep that hard of track of my items because I never spend enough to run out...but they don't really pile up either. I tend to have between 1k and 4k at any given time.

stephylynn83: I never got any extra atoms wtf why was I left out smh. All the time and money invested in this game fo1st because without it I wouldn't be able to survive the wasteland and I didn't get a sliver of anything

robertmask2223: My issue with atoms and the shop. Is that there has never been any update to camp budget. For every item you put down, one needs to be taken away. Some items you can only have one of at a time. I don't spend very many atoms even though I have fallout first. I just don't see the point when it comes to stuff. I mean I can only display so much stuff in my camp. It's not like Fallout four where you had like five hundred settlements to mess with.
