EstinR: I don't usually say someone should lose their job, but the recent layoffs that hit ZOS should've hit the ones in charge of these clueless balance updates in order to make their half baked multiclassing work. Real talent was most likely lost due to the new MMO team getting axed, and we're left with people who don't even know how to play the game they've spent 10 years working on outside housing and daily crafting writs.
Deinareia: 1) Release new systems that everyone tell them will be OP
2) See skilled players take advantage of the new OP possibilities
3) Nerf everything to the ground
4) Be surprised that skilled players are bored and leave
5) Profit?
charden2016: Tone Deaf is probably the best way to depict how the patch notes were introduced.
"Gentle reworking"
My ass.....
DerCashee: Patchnotes week 3:
Hello everyone. Our data shows us, that everyone loves our changes so far, so we decided to continue.
Ring of the Pale Order: Gives the player Major Lifesteal, instead of healing 20% of your damage done. This not only will finally introduce Major Lifesteal to the game, but it also will stop rewarding skill.
Velothi: Instead of giving a unique 15% damage buff, this Item now provides Major and Minor Berserk. Note: It's the same damage increase, so nothing changes and we truly believe that.
Doodelz02: Gaslighting has become meta.
I pay money to play ESO the way I like to. I do NOT want to reward gaslighting.
"We screwed up, nerfs incoming" is vastly preferable to being fed bs.
lapinlogic6267: ZOS "Oops, we accidentally made everyone a nightblade by making it BiS for every other class.. what if we nerf Pure Class nightblade again" dusts off hands and walks away
oriain81: U47 was an infamous submarine that sank.
thomasshone2488: Invents new OP systems.
Needs to nerf and unbalance everything else to make new updates not too OP.
Never learns.
claytonabernathy4310: what is the point of subclassing, if they are going to homogenize all the passives? this isn't "gentle balancing" this is ZOS's normal sledgehammer approach. I would rather roll back so each class at least has its own flavor.
dcub6251: I'm surprised anyone was excited for subclassing in the first place, we all knew this was coming. My only regret is not quitting sooner.
alamaden: The devs of this game don't deserve passionate players like you (edit : i said devs but i meant whomever is in charge of combat balance, there are a lot of good things that the dev team is making)
anannoyedpanda: I’m standing by this statement.
Subclassing is not good for the game. It needs to be removed.
darkspawnsenior9488: Grim focus I get. I get it. It was becoming the centerpiece of most builds.
But hurricane? Why!? What does it add, what does it give to any build? No.
pikewerfer: This is not a gentle reworking. This is making builds more boring, and fights more boring, and tracking effects more boring... it makes the game more boring. Well done, Zenimax.
LucaMiolla: Well, don't forget this is the same people who wanted you to do 5 weekly endeavours in one month.
prisonmykee2595: If this goes live then heroism pots will be pointless as well which is dumb. No need to farm dragons and zos effectively kills the only reason to go to southern elseweyr.
acloaker6254: Stop buying crown crates, stop subscribing to ESO plus, stop paying cash hand over fist every time they come up with new ways to extract your money. Come together as a community and black out this game. None of this discourse matters and we've seen that it doesn't for a decade. Anyone who's got even a little bit of a pulse on how the gaming industry works nowadays- or at least- ZOS' behavior tendencies, knew what was going to happen the moment subclassing got announced. People already told ZOS everything was going to be OP in the PTS. We already knew they wouldn't listen to feedback in the PTS. We already knew the would suddenly wake up a month later and make U47 a nuclear nerf patch. They could've just taken the steps to introduce subclassing properly. But no. Anyways- this is how ZOS has operated for... it's been a long time. You want change? Drop the game. It sounds counterintuitive, but at this point, the only thing that can force ZOS to listen to players is a mass exodus. I genuinely believe that ESO is a great game, fundamentally. ZOS is just happy to doom it to eternal mediocrity.
ExoScrolls: So happy that their new MMO got cancelled.
fobtasz4693: Hyperioxes turning into Nefas before our very eyes.
evilpenguino9398: I can't believe they killed Grim Focus.... so sad. I finally had a good HA build
blindy4263: “The floor people aren’t going to give a fuck they’re only going to anger the ceiling” is the best way to describe this. Nothing wrong with casual overland players but the people who haven’t sunk tons of time and effort into organized group compositions aren’t gonna care. It’s screwing over a decent chunk of the player base in the disguise of helping the other player base who never asked for it
HookahOtaku: Bro I was about to resubscribe to ESO, now im going back to OSRS. Its blowing up again now for good reasons, and meanwhile this game does something cool, and then literally destroys all unique passives. Literally destroyed the game. Goodbye Zenimax, hope they shut down the entire studio.
Daniele-PierreDuLac: The wrong people were laid off it seems
ZeeeXeeee: they still the same devs tho, didnt expect much . introducing subclassing itself rather than create new content is already an evidence of their inability
BMXhunterWOW: I started a 3 month break from the game, when Patch 46 dropped, but I'm likely gonna extend it 3 more and just stick with Classic WoW for right now since Mists is dropping. Maybe they'll have things sorted out in 48.
BLVCKSCORP: what's the point of subclassing anymore when class passives get streamlined?
