xyourdeus4972: My thoughts on subclassing is that it will make some players happy but it won't address the core issues of the game(that being the gross imbalance between classes), just make the focus different. Even more so when it comes to pvp. Much of the problems have stemmed from how grossly overpowered or underpowered some classes are. Some classes still don't even have fully functioning base toolkits despite zos saying "play how you want".

Reasons why the original mag and stam specs were enjoyable to people pre-hybridization was because it "forced" diversity in combat scenarios. Metas still existed but a Magblade couldn't do what a Stamblade could, and vice versa for each class both mag and stam versions.

The reason why hybridization and subclassing are seen as concerns are that they give the "illusion of choice". Many people say they "enjoy the diversity" that it brings, but more often than not people want to feel "powerful" or "competitive" more than they want to be unique, so going meta over varied builds always wins out and the variation quickly goes out the door.

We saw that happen to hybridization when it first came out, with both resto staff and destro staff back bar metas. It's too early to call it for subclassing but I think the same will occur.

I think subclassing and hybridization will show just how strong the imbalances are and how the skill lines of each class are preferred to weaker classes skills.

On PC NA, 70% are running crit force-based aedric/storm/flame or assassination/aedric/restoring light with the same overarching logic - pump out a big burst and kite in-between like an epileptic. If this is a good change, then IDK. There are now skill lines you never see in principle. Subclassing is great in principle, but they need to do much more in terms of general pvp balance.

liekosdawn: Every sweat on Xbox NA is using some combination of sorc warden blade, or plar instead of blade. 95% of them have rallying cry on the back bar.

More like 4 combinations, not 3000.

PvP is even more stale now than before subclassing.

MrGrimord: I tried it out a few months ago for the first time. Animations and Combat felt so clunky and UI so outdated. I played a rough 1 or 2 hours before uninstall.

ЯрославСуський: Subclassing totally destroy diversity in pve for now. Even if you not interested in this, you might understand that developers become more and more lazy and it takes years to bring back some diversity and balance.

bminturn: I'm still upset and mad about it. I did re-install the game again, and even leveled up 4-5 class lines for sub-classing. I just didn't love it.

nursontest156: I came back around 3 months ago and I absolutly hated it. I probably never had that little fun in the game. Not only had I forgotten how to play properly but there were so many other problems.

1) Battlegrounds were unplayable. Every single game lasted for around 2 min, then 1 team had the upper hand and camped the spawn of the other team for 10 minutes.

2) The pay2winn in this game was crazy and I say this as a mobilegame enjoyer.

3) The combat was laggy.

4) I got a friend to play with me until we didn't find any match for half an hour so we stopped playing together.

5) it felt super empty

6) my gear was just absoluty outdated (yes thats to expected but I am not gonna farm for 20 hours in a game that has no fun)

7) I heared subclassing was comming and was very sure that all people would runn the same 4 builds in pvp.

But when the p2w is better in the feature I will perhaps reconsider playing this game.

Man this fucking game is part of my childhood. I was in second class and a firend of mine was allowed to play it and he always told me about the certain skills in the game which I noted down amd started to make my own builds on a piece of paper. Once I was allowed to play it on his moms account and it was the world to me. Then finally when I was 14 my parents allowed me to play the game. I had never been interested in any other PC games but for this game alone I bought a laptop. Then in (probably) 2023 I left the game, diselusioned by the lag, the p2w and a terrible tank meta.

After that I played New World instead nad well we all know how this ended. Now I am Mmo-homeless.
