Shopping CartVok250: Tinfoil hat theory: the whole reason for the wall is because the other half of solstice isn't done being developed yet.
If they continue this seasonal content model expect more interation of walls. Maybe it's a gate or a boat or a cliff next time, but same thing haha.
chrizlo7246: I hope they never do this again
ESOFeanor: I am gonna sunken cost fallacy my way into the ground, but will remain honest about that being the case no matter what direction the game goes.
I have hope, and a timeline before I start considering that "life support" status. But currently it really is on the table, and can go either way and its all in Microsoft/ZOS's hands for what they want to do.
guardianv5846: It's would have been so much better if they didn't limp the locations where you could complete the tasks. When they say you have to kill wolves in a very small area, there's no wolves, 40 players standing around, waiting to kill them as soon as they spawn
benrossouw6404: I am not one of those people who expect miracles ONLY because I spent a Dollar or two on a game, but this is wearing a little thin now. Especially Solstice in particular. I don't think I will be buying the next season pass. Especially not if I have to be happy with getting access to content I paid for 30 or 40% at a time. It seems as if they brainstormed a few ideas, decided on one and then opted to stretch it out over months.
postbeaver: I agree with you so the only thing we have to look forward to is a visual presence of our work better than nothing I’m happy to see the light built and in place hopefully everyone’s around to help with the new word boss
JamesOKeefe-US: Totally agree with your thoughts here. The first week, did all the dailies on multiple characters and got a couple of style pages and the pet. Atrocious drop rewards. Burned out pretty much on the fat, fur, souls and essences and woodworking. The incursions are fine but I shifted to just completing the gold coffers and then going back to other content. It will be so disappointing if Phase 2 is more of the same. Like you, ESO is my favorite game but these are really a waste of time and don't feel like any kind of progression or real battle with the worm cult. It is just jumping around the world and trying to check boxes as fast as possible and even worse, those places are the same each time because you go to the most optimized locations over and over. Again, really appreciate your content, enjoying the Witches Festival!
MFCzm-i: I just do the first quest and get the yellow chest and that's it
It's boring and meaningless.
A fetch quest with bad, uninspired rewards.
All the hype lead to a big disappointment.
Over the years ESO slowly declined in quality.
Now it reached new low imo.
The Dev is basically a skeleton crew now.
Nothing of value will come from and now probably.
Grillok-n7c: I hope it’s not in maintenance mode but ya devs dropped the ball
MultiKwolf: yeppp !! i agree, even the forums sometimes had a hard time holding its place, it would go "maintance" page often, which was shocking cause i never seen it this bad
JDog_Unchained: Its just another grind like always
bill-ESO: As usual good stuff. I don't blame Microsoft cause Zos hasn't done things right for years; if anything Microsoft gave us endeavors which is cool.
For years watching Zos on twitch I can honestly say some of them either have no clue or never play the game. During a BG event one of the Zos folks was running in sets that weren't pvp related and their set up was PvE. They never listen to players and the ultimate fix (hiring Skinny) they kicked the can....
Trust me you don't want a harder overland and I'll tell you why. In a recent stream they said they will NOT revisit old sets or do a blanket buff for all of them; with that in mind what's the point of a vet overland? Lol thinking they will make new sets for every zone is laughable at best.
Another problem with Zos they don't revisit what works to make it better. A prime example is the infinite archive. When that went live by far it was the best farm and people had to rethink builds to get far in there. Currently they nerfed the material bags to the point it's a waste and nothing new is added and it's a shame. Another example is the Trainwreck TOT. I am safely say less than 1 percent of the population play TOT and it's an absolute fail; there's not even an endeavor for it I think . Instead of revamping it they leave it be.
Remember when people were complaining about a trial boss being too difficult for Trifectas Zos answer was a blanket reduction of all trial bosses HP..
I look at this Wall event as a two fold logic: market to lure and keep the active player numbers as high as possible.
In truth it's almost no point to farm the gold Wall event boxes now cause the pages are getting cheap to buy and by now everyone should have those fragments for that achievement.. lol today I did the bear/wolf skin quest and it was empty in Auldurn.
I know there are new pieces in place for game direction, but as much as I support game creators Zos needs a complete overhaul from top to bottom. Promoting the same people you're basically promoting the same problems. They did have a new hire or two and that's fine, but everyone else should go.
As per the Wall phase 2 I suggest everyone get the caltrops skill style, check out the world boss and wait for phase 3. It's been noted phase three will last a week. So let's say by Thursday we will hit phase 2 and a week to 10 days (I seriously doubt phase two will last more than two weeks) and phase 3 is a week; so basically mid/late November the Wall will be done.
Ty for the post .
rainbowstay: Imo base game needs to go free to play at this point. Just to get player numbers higher in general.
The games already 5 bucks like multiple times throughout the year so might as well just go ftp on base game it's over ten years old now
ExoScrolls: You're a good content creator, I suggest moving on from ESO and going to another game where you'll be appreciated and get way more engagements than this dead game.
kaustavsen8480: I couldn't agree more. You are absolutely right on this point. It seems you literally took the words right out of my mouth. Well said.
evancalgary7684: i was more excited for the Halloween event than doing more of the writhing wall..... the free event imo is better than the paid one in no world should that ever be possible especially if yoy paid 50$ to 60$ for it
dovahkiin9413: It's certainly a letdown, but still it's pretty good to see that there is something that changes over time with the lens. Despite it being minimal.
scottreinhart4316: Dude the julianos chapel house from the witches festival is a better reward than anything the writhing wall can and probably will give.
dragonblade3808: honestly the event would be better if they werent dragging it out let us put in the time and let us clear it so we can get what we paid for on the other side of it.
0o0olll0o0o0: I think a lot of people were expecting a large event similar to Silithus/gates of AQ opening and are disappointed it hasn't been.
I would just remind them that preceding that event was the "war effort" that was basically identical to this. Just grinding out mindless tasks until everything was ready to progress
So i havent written the ESO event off yet, i just dont expect anything fun or epic before the final phase.
And i think it should send a message to developers regarding events like this. "War effort" build ups make sense in an immersion sense because of the logistics involved, but that doesnt make it compelling gameplay. FFXIV has been guilty of this too with things like Ishgardian restoration. Its all busy work for the sake of busy work.
leivendil: I don't think stage 2 and 3 of this event will be good. But all this hate and player loss might make them improve in the future. Honestly, the event itself didn't upset me almost. But such thoughts about maintenance mode, hate in the comments, people saying game is dead, this is what upsets me the most. And I believe this is one of the reasons we lose players, even new players who don't care about new content, as they have so much of old content to do. Event sucks for sure, but the game didn't become worse because of this. This really breaks my heart, as I want people to enjoy the game I love. And there is a bitter feeling reading all these comments. Should probably stop reading comments entirely, it's like watching news, they are always sad. For me this year was a banger. Subclassing is one of the best features and my builds are so much better now. Swimming mounts and stackable surveys honestly mean much more for me than the quality of the new events. But I still understand players who have beaten all the old content, they have a right to be upset.
provisionalhypothesis: It is clear that it's on maintenance mode. And that, they just don't want to say it. people have a right to be upset about this event, I mean, especially now that you can compare how much more fun witch's festival is compared to this shit
billymills3893: I wish they would bring back class identity, and get rid of the hybridization BS. Cause now all it seems like people do is take the most OP abilities and put them together. No one actually has to get good with a class now and it’s sad.
minakatahizuru: THey took people from game to work on failed project hired dei hires feminists for EOS and game is more monetized than multiple F2P gacha games combined.
greorbowlfinder7078: epoch changing? really? I paid 60 bucks to do old style, boring, dailies. nothing changed except my bank account. I genuinely feel ripped off. Once that happens, I stop paying for anything.
GuthixisTeaFlask: Microsoft. They want your money. They will only put the absolute minimum into development in order to make happy shareholders.
That's it. Remember the massive layoffs?
Save your $. Jagex and osrs truly care for and invest in their game. Literally the last mmo not squeezed dry.
