Shopping CartBeskamir: As the joke goes:
Make an unfinished game: Fired
Make a bad game: Fired
Make an okay game: Fired
Make an amazing game: Believe it or not also fired
fallwitch: It's not enough to make profits any more. you have to make all the profits.
nyoin2028: All my digital homes are being Thanos snapped.
pintywaffle: Its a mad world when a comapny can buy another who has been going for decades and decimate them within a few years, because 'meh, we made a mistake, oh well'.....Sad times.
brucecampbellschin8632: This isnt a gaming crash this is the continuation of the gaming crash.
Auld17: The game died 5 years ago when Microsoft acquired Zenimax.
RepriseYT: This is the ONLY MMO I've ever cared about. I'm so upset I can't put it into words.
thefalloutguru: I struggle to feel bad for them. ESO has absolutely fleeced me over the years with their predatory loot shop and anti consumer practices.
KayePlays-i6w: Good riddance.
First they introduced automatic bans by AI in private chats among friends for bad words nobody reported, now they get "banned" themselves.
Kexlar: I used to play ESO, then got fed up of paying a sub for extra bag space.
dznnah: I still miss Tera
Homiloko2: We're making profit, but the profit is not increasing every quarter?? Completely absurd, cut them off!
sopharael616: its very clear they are pivoting to skyrim 76
with a bethesta studio
voidox: does the studio deserve better? they have long since been ruining the game from in-game bad decisions to an awfully scummy cash shop that have led to it's decline, Zenimax has always been a terrible and greedy company. This isn't on Microsoft alone.
juswiffin8380: They've probably factored in the fact that they're going to lose quite a bit of players across the entire industry once digital ID is required just to play games. The gaming industry is about to get overly sanitized just to get "T" for teen rating to bypass the requirement in the areas that they can.
Paelmoon: Problem will be if it does what happened to New World - players realise its in maintenance mode and the pop crashes to almost nothing.
bert949: I always considered ESO in my top 5 for MMO picks. I hope it survives this, but I am not optimistic.
travellingslim: Getting in bed with Microsoft or any multi-trillion/multi-hundred-billion dollar company as a dev studio is a major gamble. At that level, executives make billion dollar decisions on a regular basis without really deep diving as much as they should. Easy come easy go to them.
MrDewie: That sucks for the loyal players
leoferwer1813: I love ESO as a solo player. I play it 6 days a week, 2 to 5 hours a day. But I never spent a buck on it.
Sorry guys, I know it is my fault.
alacrah: If you want your cow to eat less and give more milk, milk it more and feed it less.
Tesserakt8: Bet they got a mandate from the CEO to cut costs cause they're hemorrhaging money from AI investments
gmonkman: Great to have you pushing content again. I really do miss your main channel output though, which was exemplary. Your main channel articles were serious pieces of journalism and I looked forward to them as much as a new BBC panorama report.
belstar1128: Microsoft really shouldn't be allowed to buy any company anymore
mikegwillis: None of these studios should have sold themselves to MS ... bad mistake
CassiusPryme: What sucks is ESO was a fantastic MMO for a long time. I always considered it a top-5 MMO. I always came back to it atleast twice a year. This is a sad day.
OmnisR: Corporation is not your friend. Corporation doesnt care about video games or the gamers playing the video games. And when corporation expands into some degree of monopoly - buying up studios left and right, that is sign of bad things to come. They dont care about gaming, they cannot make games, they are good at ruining successful people tho.
