ESO Whats New for Nightblade in Update 47?

Zoah_00: Devs should buff less-used options instead of nerfing the useful ones.

xnbk-yotiex5247: Zos, can I just get a class change token now since you are slowly destroying my pure class NB who has been my main since day 1 release of the game?

dinkdadink: I feel like if they nerf some high use skill lines, they should also be paired with buffs to low use skill lines.

TrackStaff404: Been a NB main since launch. I'm heart broken

IBriscoCountyJrI: And in about three weeks they will change something else

williamgrunzweig571: ESO opened up subclassing and the players have chosen what they like. Now the creators of this game feel that player decision making process is not acceptable and ZOS will forcibly change the game because the players should not have chosen what makes them happy. Talk about confusing. They knew that subclassing would open the door to massive dps/tank/heal opportunities, and yet they did it anyway.

The only class that should have access to Nightblade class skills is a Nightblade. Sorc to Sorc. Arcanist to Arcanist. Warden to Warden. Subclassing was intended as ZOS stated, " To let the player play the way they want and open up new play styles". I'm not joking. ZOS literally wanted the player to choose how they wanted to play. Why not. It is after all a game, and nobody is forcing the player to do anything. If a player wants to min/max let them. If they want a more traditional setup, then so be it.

What I see is ZOS making random changes in an attempt to keep the game alive or relevant. I love ESO for many different reasons. Random changes that remove the element of "play the skills and builds you developed" is not how to keep a game alive or relevant. Quite the contrary. What ZOS is doing is back tracking and revealing how they never intended to "let players play and build as they desire". It is as I said, a way to keep the game alive or relevant. The only reason some players came back was to see how subclassing was going and have fun with the all the new possibilities. However, now that is changed. Not only are they removing elements of skills, but they are also doing it haphazardly. They are also dialing down Trial gear for many sets. Why? It's not for balancing. If that was the case, then why was it left alone for so long?

I again point to the supposition that this is an attempt to keep the game relevant/alive, and it's backfiring spectacularly. This also reveals a lack of planning and though. This is not how proper game development should operate. The fact they openly admitted that trying out the "do and see what happens method" only reveals how this game is teetering on disaster.

So, now nightblade players will lose this skill line ability. Same for other skill lines. Again, this is not balance. This method of throwing something at the wall and see if it works out is just not working. Oh wait, it does not. Quick fix it. Oh wait, that created a new problem. Quick, fix it. Haphazard and disastrous, not for the game stability but for the player base you profess to "play and build as you see fit".

Will players leave ESO, hard to say. I'd say the players that will remain are the one that don't focus so much on min/maxing. Players will stay for the enjoyment and stylization this game shows. In my opinion, those players have no real lives outside of games. For those of us that do, these changes are unwelcome.

This also reveals how ZOS is relying not on their skills or expertise, but random content creators. Content creators focused on these areas and showed the player base how to build an amazing setup. Had there been no content creators, this most likely would not have come to pass. This is troubling when you think about it. This is what makes me question how competent the team at ZOS really is. A game is a game after all, however to some players it's more than just that. This is their way to unwind or have fun. I wonder if ZOS ever considers how their haphazard adjustments makes players feel? It seems to me they simply don't care and only care about what the content creators reveal or say.

If your game and staff are incapable of testing a game out so you launch it live and hope your public flushes out issues, then you have a failing game on your hands.

I look to YouTube and build channels to get ideas. I'm not going to spend hours and hours on ESO making builds. I'm going to find one that's interesting and try it out. What is the point now if ZOS just randomly changes things at a whim? Why bother going to build sites now? Why bother playing anymore?

The constant changing is what makes players leave. Personally, ZOS you need to leave your class skills alone and gear alone. The game does not need balancing. It's fine as it is. What you do need to develop is way to allow players to "opt-in" to harder play styles. There are plenty of lower-level players that struggle with open world and in basic dungeons. The high CP players sail right through it, and those are not the players you should be listing to. Give those higher end players the option to increase their difficulty. It's that simple. I run random DLC Vet Dungeons, and I come across players that have no business in vet dlcs. I don't mind providing the knowledge and dps to get them though, however if you take away the dps aspect the teams fall apart quickly. This is a fact. Play the game, and you will see.

Scalecaller Peak is a perfect example. Your player base is so casual now knowledge players are fewer and fewer. Just yesterday I did Scalecaller Peak as a random. Both the healer and other dps died on the first boss and it was me and the tank finishing off the 1st boss. Same thing on the 2nd one. The only reason we cleared it quickly was the dps I can put out. The knowledge of the mechs as well. Understanding kiting. ZOS you are not paying attention.

Prior to subclassing doing Vet Scalecaller Peak was a hit or miss with randoms. Having subclassing now allows for higher end players to help carry teams, so they don't just give up. They do give up quickly these days. These are the facts ZOS. ESO has more casual players in it now compared to the past.

In the end I guess ZOS will do what they want. The player base will shrink more and more. Let that sink in.

kaworunagisa4009: RIP my BowBlade main. Give me my weapon damage back. I don't need extra crit, I have enough, thank you very much. My pure Nightblade is gutted. And for what? So that Arcanists drop a new toy?

Just move Grim Focus, the way it was before U46, to Siphoning ffs.

justrandomstuff6828: Welp, back to being a vampire again

MatthewStanley-e1f: I mean if something is overpowered everyone is gonna used it i don't like the nerf but it's understandable

efrus66: Look the overall issue is they brought the ability to learn other class skills to the game but at a cost to the pure builds. So far we have seen plenty of nerfs because those who adopt another classes skills became to powerful. So they nerfed the skills. That not only affects the dirty builds (mixed classes) but also the pure builds which did not include other class skills. So where does it leave the game now. Pure builds are becoming more and more power deficient as a result. Seriously unfair. They obviously did not think this through at all.

MrFernley90: Good for subclassing as a whole but for those who don’t want to subclass like me then this is a massive disappointment.

scrapburgin4193: I like the 10 stacks. You can cast it any time at 4 ..having ten means you can set up bursts and get more casts. 10-4=6, light attack (7) cast again (3) light attack (4) cast (0)

I think thats a fair trade off for merciless resolve doing more damage and more healing but requiring 5. The damage is roughly even and now and seems like a resource cost choice or damage type choice. I think its fair.

Didnt explain all that to YOU personally, but to express my point to others that may not have understood.

mickey3448: Time to redo the lazy sorc.. again.. hopefully after

kleaxy_lovick3097: Yes dark deal is my go to now vs the og morph cause I plan on building my NB into a tank brawler so it's perfect but your right they need to bring the stacks down to 8 and add the weapon and spell damage back maybe not as much 2-395

lilmoscoskoscoss: Devs at this point dont kno what they are doing in their own game. It's inevitable for them not to want people to use the same stuff. This will always happen especially in PvP. Especially with other classes lacking useful abilities and traits. How about making other classes and skill worth equipping.

thomasjefferson3449: Face it..they f'ed up the pure classes in order to make the bs generic classing to work

TheGMac316: I think these are some bad moves from the devs.

fatalcrack3600: Don’t forget an update 47. They’re gonna Nerf the passes also so most people would might wanna start trying to figure out something else to put there.

IROPP4I: Ardent flame with seething fury and back bar whip for the passive weapon damage could be the play

TheSupermauro30: haha oh no one see this coming rigght , buch dumb developers that even play their own game

LeónJacintoyMartin: Keep it at 10 stacks, when you are light attacking from the back line it’s still advantageous to carry over 2 stacks to the next rotation after firing two times.

yangermanagement: If these nerfs really impact Your most recent Lazy Sorc build, I'm hoping You theory craft a new one. It's been really helpful for someone who can't play as well as others.

treymorgan9926: Idk why they didn't just make it to where you got the weapon and spell damage increase on ability cast instead of passively getting it or just make that weapon and spell damage only apply to that ability to make it stronger on cast and make it worth getting the full stacks

shinobi197: I wouldn't want to sound like well actually guy, but wouldn't having 10 stack using the ability twice won't use the last 2 so 1 more heavy would get you enough to fire again instead of 2 heavy attacks.

cautiouslycynical9786: I'm making a stam sorc which is the new NB. But with my luck they'll nerf this as well as soon I hit champion points levels.

ChrisWilliams-hm1nx: I always fire my merciless resolve as soon as it's available. So I imagine I'll just keep it. Also I don't know of anything better to replace it with. Because I'm very new to this.
