grod4L: It was honestly the first time I had fun in pvp
SaliusCy: I just finished the Golden Pursuits for this campaign. I enjoyed it and had zero lag issues. It was a lot of fun.
syoudipta: Don't know what will come after this testing, but for the next few days im going farm some AP on all my toons and get them as much PVP ranks as possible. I don't have to worry about being on the right toon or right build or anything, just go out anytime and have fun.
MrJustn: It's a great feeling... sieging in this campaign. It reminded me how it felt just like at base game.
I love not having to worry about bombers, ball groups, and unkillable 1vX players. I love the balance where all characters have the same stats, same gears etc. I had an epic moment where it was 20 mins defending a keep, fd and a side wall were down, and just ultimately defending the whole keep and pushing them back. I haven't had this much fun in cyro in forever. Like you said, I think it would be good to get weapon skills, world skills, and alliance and support. Picking morphs. But I love the no set thing. But then I can see the flip side, all the sets that were made for pvp, they all are worthless if vengence is made the norm. So kind of a catch 22.
But for me, I love what is here and can't wait to see how they expand it in the future
Aten_Ra: This is Ideal for me. I hate having to use annoying builds just to keep trolls out. This is true skill. This is how it should be. I adore PvP now. Nuff said.
Wagmon-hz8nj: For me it was pretty positive as well. Of course it cannot be the only campaign, but i hope becomes one of them, CP, No-CP, Vengeance.
It kills the build theorycrafting of mmos and eso in particular, but damn if it's obvious how 90% of the players are just 95% build 5% skill. In this campaign it's the opposite, 5% build depending on which skills and class you decide you use, and 95% skill. I hopped in as a level 30 player and I received hate whispers from cp2000 guys because I won 2vs1 them and called me hacker. Pretty satisfying. Literally zero lag, everything connected like it should and no weird melee attacks connecting while I los, or other stupid things.
Great and very fun.
kaveex_2327: It honestly was the best PvP experience I've had in years. Sure I wasn't able to run away, but nor were my enemies hehehe
davidreed1745: Has turned Cyro into whoever has the biggest Zerg wins. Very hard to go out on your own and do anything without getting run down by groups.
ianhambly3134: This was the first time I enjoyed Cyrodil, even though I died alot!
Valeryu_Minka: PVP is meant to be a challenge. It is meant to have a learning curve. Very few people, if any, walk in and become an instant 1vX god, and lots of pvp mains will never aspire/push to become that either. If new players keep having issues with being ganked on the way to fights (etc), then they are meant to LEARN spatial awareness/make a better build/skill up to survive or outsmart. It’s really not hard to drink a detect pot. Unkillable tower humpers are annoying, but if you stop feeding them your squishie/unaware players and ignore them, they tend to get bored and go away. Ballgroups are horrible for performance, but they could be dealt with by tweaking group cross heals.
Yes, we want new players to join and have fun (and keep pvp alive) but encouraging zerg play isn’t the way to do it. People won’t learn from this type of environment and will then get frustrated later when they are the outnumbered ones. This is just slowly running as one of a huge zerg while randomly throwing skills into a hopefully smaller zerg. It’s turned Cyro into one of those mobile game adverts where the three green stick people stupidly run into the 9 purple stick people and get consumed.
What makes it even worse is that those of us with terrible lag before (Aussie here) are having the same performance and connection issues (if anything, my overall ping sits about 10 points higher than average). Yes, there are 100’s of extra people around us and big fights, so it IS an improvement in some sense, but all the ways we would normally build to counter the lag are gone, and we’re getting hit with 50x extra lightning heavy attacks than is typical in Mayhem.
I’m glad it’s only a test, but the amount of effort the devs put into it is concerning for future updates.
christophershepherd4309: I think it’s great. No gankers ballgroups or bombers. Just fun
Trigarta: I played a few hours over the last days and I know the whole experience is reduced for a reason but I was really missing set and build diversity. Performance was pretty good and that's what the test is for. Having no Ballgroups or invincible Towerrunners was also great. Sustain was pretty bad with the adjusted class skills though. I can live without CP because I played the non CP campaign for quite a while a few years back. I think I could live with adjusted skill (but all skill lines). Sets need to come back though! All in all it was very cool to see a lot more players in Cyrodiil and performance that was actually pretty good, but it got boring after a while because of how reduced the experience is.
salinaember9527: only experienced 1 or 2 slight hiccups during my 3 hour play time. had low expectations going in, but found myself immersed. tons of fun playing cyro how it was originally designed and intended. i hope they continue to explore these aspects, for example, campaign based inventory, stats, and skills with no prior resources or time investment needed. way more fun for new players to hop in. i love how i was provided with unlimited pvp equipment. i also got to use my toons that i never normally play. i'd want them to continue exploring campaign based items, like coffers for example.
gertoise: i was talking shit on it but you're right i should go try it out myself.
LaneWorks: 1vXing and build diversity is what keeps me playing. If I want more something I build for it. I want more tankyness, build for it. Damage? Build for it. Not one build beats every build. Not one player can beat every player. Balancing just kills diversity. There should obviously be adjustments to things that just straight up over perform but everything should be somewhat useful in someway. This is what makes this game shine to me and a lot of others. Take those things away and dumb it all the way down? No thanks, I’ll play something else then. I understand this is a test, but if this is the path that PVP stays on due to feedback count me out.
blackstarrk4530: Completely terrible.
Zerg vs zerg
No group diversity
No build diversity
No capacity to "X"
Only positive is the counter seige and offensive seige cap.
Boring. Boring. Boring. 100 players to grab an outpost is absolutely ridiculous
sugmadic: Boring campaign for pvers . Perfect for lazy casual player who cant google builds and change gear
JuMoraf: Well said
AULIGAofBLEED: I will miss this and I am an avid PvP player. Yes there is th Zerg but I have had many small fun fights as well as epic large three way keep battles. Ball groups, bombers and unkillables cannot work here. It's only skill and teamwork. Some tweeking needed for sure (skill line and stamina)
MTS1738: I've been playing ESO since it came out. I think this campaign is great. It helps performance and lag, which is a massive issue here in AUS while also cutting out those annoying bomber or cheese builds in normal PVP and makes you rely on skill alone.
WEAPON-MRX: Rush of agony enjoyer ….. zergling
kullinaama: nothing good about this zergfest
CrazyBasshead: Without build diversity this will get boring super fast. No bombers no ballgroups no tanks just form the bigger zerg
Nobody08361: This dude must be getting paid, the whole point of spending hours upon hours of your time theory crafting, and testing new builds and sets is specifically for PVP do not punish those people by removing that aspect of the game from PVP, literally no one wants this nonsense find another way to fix the game.
Hakagure: This is the best pvp that's ever existed in ESO. No ball groups spamming overlapping heals, skills feel balanced between classes, and class identity exists again. You can bring in a lvl 10 toon and be on par with a cp3600 player. There's also been virtually 0 lag or bugs
DrHerculesReal: Finished the Golden Pursuits on Day 1. And it ONLY took me about 2-3 hours with a random group! YAY!
