evancalgary7684: its not about should ESO have subclassing it absolutely should the problem is its being forced because of the way they have to balance around it your actively nerfing yourself by not doing it is the issue
branmikefrye: I just hope they give a bonus to a class purist to balance things out.
treacherygod7664: I wouldn't say it's the identity of each class as it is the power gap between subclassing and non-subclassing. People being able to quadruple DPS output puts the game in a really bad spot. Either those that use subclassing have to get a debuff or players that stay faithful to their class. Get a buff. Otherwise, players that subclass are going to cake walk through trials or if they power creep, anyone who doesn't own the DLC is completely screwed.
Daniele-PierreDuLac: Ok that clock joke as the first one in a while to make me actually laugh out loud. Good one
FuKyYoYo: Honestly I think adding a scribe-able skill to each class skill line that can only be used by that skill line’s original class would solve some of the class identity. Combine that with class unique passives and I think there would be enough class specific content to keep a feeling of class identity without effecting the new system too much.
sugmadic: Your hero your way
AidenAlias: I find interesting people are against this. A huge part of this game is supposed to be build freedom. As well as this adding another reason to play eso over some other mmos
I see this as objectively a good decision in the long run.
capnyoungs6896: I'm just getting back into ESO at the right time it seems! Just got a fresh lvl 50 and working towards cp160 for the first time! excited to see all the new stuff when i comes out next week!! have watched a lot of your vids over the years and it's always been great content and very helpful! keep up the great work!!
blackyvertigo: Now instead of adding a new class later they can just add a new skill line. Smaller, easier to balance.
Agumon5: Subclassing got me to step away from ESO. Will just explore other games that I used to play years ago. I hear GW2 PvP is good.
ESO is just going in a very different direction from what I want in the game. As a mostly Cyrodiil player, subclassing is going to create a clusterfuck for months until they figure out the balance.
txchainsaw8907: Balancing the game for PVE and PVP is not one of ZOS’ strengths. They shot themselves in the foot with this one. Not a fan subclassing at this point. Would rather they added a 3rd morph or new skills for each class.
drackar: I think a lot of people are going to enjoy subclassing, but a given percentage of the people that have only ever played one class, who are now facing some pretty heavy handed nerfs, are going to just...leave.
randyfellows: What they should do is give you a class buff if you stay a clean class with no subs. That would be a nice balance
aki13lack: Class sets should get more love and add more of them atleast 3 of each class line for more selection, would also nice if they bring sets like if you use 1 or 2 subclasses you get something extra bonus with a drawback for balance
talionis1396: I like that classes exist. It helps others to know what theiyr're teammates might be capable of. However, being a musician, I thoroughly enjoy playing different styles of music. I hate being limited by other people's definitions or limitations on what I should be allowed to do.
colslaw69: Subclassing is the Deadpool from X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Scribing could've filled the gaps between classes. This will be a net negative for the game. Nerfing pure classes for the sake of op subclasses is backwards. Pure classes should be more powerful than subclasses.
timv4290: I'm here for the tea...errrr ..info. I mean info!!!
Slothnem: I still want a one handed magic weapon type
csakzozo: Tbh, I personally feel like letting everyone get one single subclass skill set would satisfy both groups. You have to keep 2 skillsets from the class you're actually playing with the option to adopt a bit of a subclass...
oldtimegamer8253: I love the opening jokes. Keep up the good work
ptransformed6039: Class passives would be great since it really feels like my pure class builds are going to be weaker.
Silly as it sounds, I'm really concerned about how horrid some of my toons that subclass will look. Already having nightmares about the NB grim focus red and the arcanist inspiration green on my weapons. I hope we get an option to remove some of the visual effects (a skill style which is actually 'no style').
Dingus2: Idk how i feel about subclassing yet. Ill have to wait and see how it turns out, but what I can tell you is how sick I am of every time I want to check back in with the game I have to completely relearn all the revamped systems and on top of that completely overhaul and change my builds. Spending way too much time farming for new sets or whatever I need to make a build work. It happens multiple times a year at this point. Makes me want to jump back in less and less each time
michellepartridge8558: I'm just tired of play how you want, but if you don't play a certain way, you will never be able to play competitively. There so many things I've wanted to try but didn't because you need to follow the meta.
TheAlphaOmegaX3: Can you complete all the content right now? Yes? Then subclasses will just make it a little easier and easier for those who struggle more than you. Its a non issue. If your a pvp player? Play the new mode that has no sets and limited abilities.
dontblockmedk: Good content thanks.
Initially there was high class identity where the original 4 classes were specific to 4 roles, dk stam tank, nb stam dd, tmp mag heal, sorc mag dd. But the second they had PVP in the game the class identity has been reduced because of PVP BALANCE.
People don't seem to realize that 'class identity' is the OPPOSITE of PVP 'balance' or PVE 'min/max', you can have ONE or the OTHER but never both. And it is the very same 'balance/min/max' people who are complaining about 'class identity'.
BTW since ESO changed the 3 class skill lines to be role based, obviously pulling all the same role from 3 different class skill lines will be better in that role than 'pure class' build which has skills/passives for EACH role. The only way to have fixed this was xynode's idea about subclassing where you could only swap a ROLE (tank/heal/dd) skill line for the SAME ROLE skill line from another class.
Sorry for the rant. BTW I think ESO is trying to sell armory slots with subclassing, I should have bought a lot more when it was on sale. Overall subclassing is going to be pretty good IMO.
sebascal951: I am honestly exited about the change, but I also share the fear about the losing of identity in the game, maybe the creation of a new passives line exclusive for each class could solve the problem, that way they can buff the use of you original class lines and "aliviate" the nerfs that they made.... But for now I'm gonna experiment with my nightblade! Maybe magika nightblade gets and interesting aproach now hehe
wixlynsworld1965: I need clarification on the new sub.Class now if I run a Nightblade, and I want to subclass it with other classes, like the warden class. Will they both reset back to 1, and what about all my crafting? Does that reset also when I go into sub Classing, or will that stay the same?
