ESO Pain Points Are Getting FIXED in 2026 Qualify of Life Improvements in Update 49

Zerocaliber-b6z: hope they update the character creator one day

cleverbotevie1262: I do not play on side characters as much, what do you meeean outfit and armory slots weren't account wide??? What the hell...

its_vinyl: Why does eso think they can demand more then WOW or final fantasy yearly but offer way less

tillyfromthecrypt7571: I'm so excited for overland difficulty swapping!

One hand wand or orb or glyph, some kind of magical one hand weapon would be cool too

_invinciScribe_24: I'm really excited for everything. Great Video also like you're Room Background looks cool.

Trigarta: I am so looking forward to account-wide outfit slots! It is so pricy to get one for just one character.

As something i'd like to see: reworking crafting areas in base game zones to make them more convenient (some are just too spread out to be of use) and adding writ boards to DLC's zones that don't have them (Vastyr on Galen comes to mind).

Cooperharley0204: Great video Kal! Loved it. Capes would be sick. Looking forward to 2026!

kck_fireman7127: Pretty good changes but something I have wanted to see for a long time is why not let us armor out our mounts? Be nice to have a way to unlock different armor styles for the mounts and be able to dye them just like the stuff you wear. Be cool to have your mount matching your own armor.

Verpal: All the QOL update sounds promising, but I am gonna be honest, to me, the most important thing for ESO have always been the new zones, no matter how many lingering friction pain points, usually a good new zone will cover all that up.

I am not trying to sounds not appreciative, no, all these QOL improvement are great, but ESO need to nail next new zones, just don't be another Solstice. I don't expect every zone to be banger like Summerset isle, but surely we have reach the bottom, and can only go up from this point.

starboundconquestgame: I just want to keep my oakensoul build and not have to farm anyrhing else. Ive been running that build since it came out!

ExoScrolls: Love all your videos Kal, thanks again.

davery07: Great video. Will def be sharing this one. Thanks!

Sam-pb8ym: I love the fashion changes. Silly thing, but I found it so greedy that you had to pay PER character to unlock outfits. And you had to use event tokens to hide your shoulder. This is a step toward the light side lol.

I feel like they have heard how much real players hate the cash shop and I love the steps they plan to take to move away from it. I'll believe it when I see it, but this gives me a lot of hope! Good video thanks Kal!

Himalayansuga: I wish they worked on fishing and made more crafting into quests to get people involved in doing them.

Alex-rz4fg: Off topic question Kal, what chest does your warden wear in the newer videos?

RaskusArhaus: How about skipping the hideous tabbard altogether and just allow us to have our character name, title, and favorite guild float above our heads in text (visible to others when not in combat) to show to others (or not)?

tBankruptjojo: Please for the love of God let me get out of combat

intoxication1877: really hope there will be some proper PVP updates - only thing that would make me come back

simonw1252: Capes and cloaks!

aisuru8013: need to add solo 3 companions dungeons and overland content

currentlykent4593: I was talking to some friends in a guild and this changes things for me. I was saying I didn’t want to ever start a new character again. I’ve got two right now around cp1300 so going back to grind a new one seemed uninteresting. Not anymore, baby!!

courtgame: Looking forward to sorcerer rework please get rid of all daedric with new ones

niteskye1031: The character models deff need an update.

ArkhBaegor: I follow ESO from afar, hoping one day they make questing fun by upping the difficulty. There was talk of adding optional difficulty modes, like in LOTRO. Has that been added yet, or is it still just a vague plan?

Gerlofke: It’s great to see werewolves finally receiving more visual identity and fantasy depth — the new visuals look genuinely cool.

However, as a vampire-focused player, this only highlights how neglected and immersion-breaking the vampire system in ESO has become since the Greymoor rework.

In established Elder Scrolls lore — especially in Skyrim and Oblivion — vampirism followed a clear and intuitive logic:

hunger meant loss of control and a more monstrous appearance, while feeding helped maintain one’s humanity and ability to pass as mortal. NPC reactions and social consequences reinforced the idea that vampirism was a curse that had to be managed.

ESO currently does the opposite. A starving vampire looks almost completely human, while feeding makes the character increasingly monstrous. This reversal is not supported by Elder Scrolls lore, nor by classic vampire fiction in general. There is also no meaningful social or narrative response from the world, which removes tension and roleplay depth.

The common argument that this change was necessary for balance or new-player clarity only applies to combat mechanics — it does not justify breaking visual logic or removing immersion. These elements could have been decoupled from gameplay balance, allowing both group content and lore consistency to coexist.

While werewolves are now being enhanced in terms of visual fantasy and identity, vampirism feels reduced to a mechanical skill line rather than an existential choice. That is disappointing in a franchise known for strong lore and meaningful consequences.

I truly hope ZOS will give vampires the same level of care and attention by reconsidering:

– the visual logic of vampire stages

– separating appearance and immersion from pure combat mechanics

– restoring a sense of consequence and roleplay to vampirism

Vampirism should feel like a curse with weight, not just another build option.
