ESO Dev Update Finally Some Good News for Players

crystallinecrow3365: It honestly hadn't occurred to me to be worried abt crossplay. At this point if we still get class refreshes in a timely manner I'm thrilled.

kevinarnold8634: Are those responsible for making the decisions that contributed to the quality of those chapters still there? It is not just a numbers game. The actual key people involved matter as well. If they are no longer present similar numbers of workers cannot be assumed capable of producing similar results.

siniister710: Summerset is still the best dlc they've ever done imo so hopefully we still get some great shit going forward

Centurion305: One of the biggest issues ESO always faced was properly hearing the players and adjusting accordingly. With Gina finally gone, it looks like there's hope for proper communication. Gina was supposed to be the voice of the community and she failed at her job miserably. Looks like the cuts were for the good of the game going forward.

vitalsteve1: companies do this to get rid of senior staff to reduce production costs and increase profit.

this country really sucks sometimes... YAY CAPITALISM! /s

Patton243: This game will be pretty much dead in 2 years. The remaining employees will say anything to keep the fan boys around and milk them some more.

bagofrice: now they just need to add meaningful pvp progression, like some kind of daoc-like realm point system

Xyrer: I've read somewhere that although some important people were laid off, most people were actually just redundant so no real impact

bill-ESO: Ty for the post. It's fools gold to assume years ago they did this with that and assume years later that's how it will be. So far this year the game has turned into a tedious grind and it seems we will get a lot more of it, just at a slower pace.

roygaming666: Are you buying what Jessica said? probably the one behind Gena departure..

WhiteRainxX: Gina was awful at her job and it’s good to see her departing from ZOS

OkinaNagareboshi: Wrothgar and summerset are incredible DLC’s. I’m pretty sure we will still get winterhold skyrim new zone, and warden (hopefully sorcerer too) for u52. AI is strong right now and not the end of it. We may not like it, but it has its uses. The new team will figure it out. Everyone needs to be patient and quit doomsaying

Dezhavu13: Given the news regarding the new xbox pricing, maybe there won't be a need for cross play as not many will be able to afford it.

acido7572: Be careful don't spend your money on this game, In my opinion, ESO will be shut down not right now, but in about two or three years.

KingDomfaithlifecoaching: I love how people try to spin bad things into a positive light. This is what keeps the outrage docile.

nblife916: A reality check is required. (Susan and Joe have been fired so do not expect updates from her). The German guy running the event you found helpful was fired. There will be no more taverns with the community and they handed out the props to people to take home. Bethesda lost control of their entire IP 3 days ago. They lost control of the permission to make any further decisions for the Elder Scrolls and Fallout was handed to Obsidian. In addition to the 40% gone, the studios making stuff for ESO as contractors -are also no longer employed on ESO. In addition to that, there is another round of cuts coming up. (Facts). (Jessica is likely not to survive that if they're ending community live events). Now the pattern -XBox is giving out game IPs to other Teams they manage. Control is being centralized for ALL their games. So what it is looking like is a) ESO will be sunsetted for Elder Scrolls IV because the later will sell consoles. b) Anyone currently at Bethseda, who isn't necessary to keep the dinosaur code working, has a very short shelf life remaining -they're not needed if Xbox starts seeing all the devs as interchangeable across their game creation teams. Bottom line -old games don't sell consoles. It also suggests that they will not want to invest in MMOs that continue on for years without requiring further purchases. Game pass failed on Xbox. That's also out. ESO has a very old gaming community. The advertisement for ESO at XBox showcase was booed by the crowd. We're not the future of Xbox. They Do Not Care which is why the woman in charge was chosen as a non-gamer. ESO has gotten life from false hope for a very long time. (Yes, I'm a member of the Pvp community and could write a freaking book on the lies told). At least it won't be taken offline while people continue to buy houses...And yes, it's sad and tragic and sucks.

eyn85: Yeah I usually hop off sinking ships but here I don't care and I am just playing it.... ESO fullfil what I wanted from a long time on fantasy medieval RPGs...just to be an simple adventurer completing quests abd fighting monsters throughout the world....no overly emotional BS like BG 3 and my character is not stuck on an single region because "oh my god I am cursed/infected"...your prologue issue on ESO can be solved and you just move on

bigcountry4301: Elon cut 80% when he took over Twitter.

thekami953: I personally hope they tackle bugs more and hoping they get the class refreshes out faster without still sacrificing quality.. Kinda feel bad whoevers main class is last. I personally main sorcerer and really hoping it wouldnt be half a year... Do hope to see vampire refresh too at some point.

kblacklabel: Remember guys this is just the first round of lay offs wether we stay or not is probably irrellevant the suits on top sill gut zod

MikeyP109: One of my favorite zone stories is the Imperial City.

Aedrion-: It all depends on who is left and what their priorities are.

Personally, I'd like them to focus on improving the game and gameplay that is there - overhauls, PvP balance, dealing with long standing issues and finally listening to the community - before rushing to release more DLC's and zones. There's plenty already and the reason people aren't staying, isn't because there's not enough to do. It's a question of quality. The realist in me assumes this will not happen.

UltrEgoVegeta: Wrothgar is my favorite storyline

KeristanMorrowind: Spunds good! Summerset is the best DLC in my opinion.

CaptainPePe69: So we went cook to no cook

commanderkeen2078: Remember what happened when they were that team size? They could only prioritize new content. QoL changes and changes to the base game were basically a non priority. This shows you just how much these layoffs will hurt the game. 100 developers on an MMO is basically a skeleton crew.

gokrisgaming: I want crossplay!!!
