thats4thebirds: It’s actually insane to me how the relic system works.

it should not be possible for a relic to roll with conflicting effects, but we get ironeye relics where the starting ability is a second skill and it’s not bow related.

Nitnert1: The thing that sucks is that the "random events" like morgot, the meteor, and mausoleum are tied to certain seeds of certain night lords. The meteor can only happen on like 3 night lords

andre-n9l6f: i wish they let us choose from a couple of white weapons for each character to start with, so you could do cooler builds, Like duchess can start with a staff or a rapier, or raider start with a Ultra Greatsword, that would be nice

Nap-55: I think the relic system needs some sort of bias applied to it.

For example:

If you get a [Raider] Relic, the second/third effects should be more likely to be melee/strength based, etc.

Even something like 10-15% bias would be HUGE.

Yuno_Ishigami: My biggest problem is the end of day boss selection. The game could be so much more fun if we didn't have to fight the bad/boring bosses over and over again

You are in the extreme minority of players, that can play the game as much as you do. There is a real issue with the gaming industry where content creators and "pro" players being the loudest minority of players dictating the direction of the game which ends up being unfavorable for the "normal" / "casual" players

wittynclever: You can sum up 95% of this games issues with 2 words. More variety. We need more variety of essentially everything. More characters, more skins, more maps, more randomness, more weapons, more bosses, more of everything. And where the hell is Patches?

CoachSpilo: I feel like the most important"high effort" work this game needs is serious work on the class kit/relic design. Easily one of the most appealing part of this game is the replayability through the classes- something Fromsoft hasn't really done before. It brings a fresh breath of air that has a larger impact on variety and fun than boss selection, map RNG, or drops/weapon RNG. That being said, Fromsoft clearly shows their inexperience, because I think the only class that is essentially fully functional with their design/relics is Wylder.

Just to name a few:

Executor: Passive is the worst in the game, skill is great on paper, terrible in any group play (and it's his biggest hero fantasy, too). Arguably a bit overtuned statwise, so leans into status application, and has a lot of horrific relics.

Revenant: Summons scale horribly & don't have utility explored well, limited support options, passive is dysfunctional and inconsistent. Relics are mostly fine.

Duchess: Her Ultimate desperately lacks utility beyond defense values- her stealth relics as a whole seem a forced flavor that Fromsoft clearly didn't test enough, because it just doesn't bring anything new to the table.

Recluse: Most of her cocktail is useless and/or scales poorly compared to just plain sorceries (like Executor, her most thoughtful and interesting mechanic doesn't function well).

And that's just a handful- pretty much every class has glaring issues in design or in Relics. Heck, I'd go as far to say there should be even more relics for each class to further shake up playstyles. The ideas behind some of the classes are great, but when the execution is so lacking, you miss the opportunity to open up so many more avenues of fun to explore. Executor picks up a katana and applies status, Revenant pulls out a summons that gets one shot, and then spams whatever incantation she got, Recluse ignores cocktail 90% of the time and spams her best sorcery. You rarely, if ever, think or use many of your class unique aspects or relics. Compare that to Wylder where most of his relics and abilities provide options and are consistently useful and fun to use.

Nwrathburn: Possible unpopular opinion:

As someone who will never "get good" I would like just a few more minutes on the timer as an option for lesser rewards or something. I have distractions at home and sometimes I just need a minute to check on something, and as an average player, I need every minute before the circle shrinks. I love the format, just need a bit more leeway and I'm willing to give up rewards for it /shrug

gustavl3107: In Bloodborne, you could modify your runs in the Chalice Dungeons using the Cursed, Rotten or Fetid rites. It boggles my brain that Nightreign does not have a similar system.

michalnowacki1489: Some relic perks need to be merged

I would never take increased deathblight resist, but a 100 to all resistances is more appealing

Same with HP/FP restoration on hit, it should be on multiple weapon types like daggers thrusting swords curved swords, instead of just one wealon type

A random/chaos mode you unlock after finishing the game would be hella fun, if it mirrored or rotated the map that would surprisingly throw your muscle memory off as well

Voicelet: I'd be satisfied with just making the game truly randomized w/o using mods.

Hope the DLC will add more stuff than just SotE things but bring more stuff from the other Souls games too.

thegitgudgrrl: We have proven that communication is completely unnecessary in this game. Would it make it easier? Yes would I use it? No.

Coming from playing thousands of hours of destiny where we literally could not play the game without communicating so I missed out on a whole bunch of activities and My daughter is a twitch streamer for call of duty

I will not put up with the abuse we had to deal with communicating with Destiny and CoD players.

I understand that we have a much better community than cod and Destiny but the last thing anyone wants to hear while running through Limveld is a dude screaming at them.

Besides all of us have done gank runs through boreal Valley with randoms we picked up along the way and no one had to talk.

This is a game like no other I think it's innovative enough, but yes, something needs to be done with the relic system , I want more skins and we need more field bosses

Jay_daewi: I hate that if you’re in the storm for too long it will actually just take your heart from 100% to zero without an actual build up. Like some of my favorite moments of the game is going back out into the storm and fighting a boss while constantly losing health. It’s so hype looking at your flasks dwindle and wondering if you’ll have enough time to beat the boss and hit a grace in time. But instead even if you have flasks left over, and even if you planned the perfect route out of the storm, eventually the storm will just one shot you despite the health drain barely going any damage not even a second before it

Thanatos913: Agreed. Game would really benefit from a system that let's you gradually unlock harder game modes. Something like boss cells from dead cells and ascencions from Slay the Spire

angelus_lucifero: This game is fantastic, 300 hours into it now and I'm still hooked. But I pretty much agree with all of the above. I know that's hard for people to wrap their heads around but this kind of criticism is genuinely from a place of love.
