Thoughts On Elden Ring Nightreign One Year Later...

the.bloodless.one1312: It had flaws but overall it was an insanely fun idea. I still think if it had multiple maps and if the maps themselves were randomized it would’ve had way more longevity for me. That’s the only main issues I have with it. I hope they build off the idea in the future. They should make one that tosses in all Soulsborne bosses and weapons and locations and call it Super Sun Bros lol would honestly be sick.

sisyphus_prime123: "Alright what's going on guys"️

DamesClarion: I just still can't believe how good the new bosses and the music were, literally worth playing for that alone

TomTom_Tomekk: About 1050h of playtime. Still having at least one run almost every other day. I think I'm addicted.

JCV1599: I never played a coop game before. Nightreign was my first coop game and i really love the game. 270 hours in and i still play weekly. Hoping for an anniversary update tomorrow with ED Heolstor and SOTE weapons

Ishimura13: Nightreign walked so that Duskbloods can run... hopefully.

Nap-55: Bandai Namco is fucking crazy dude.

Their Instagram is STILL posting random stuff from NIGHTREIGN like:

"haha look at me running around the Roundtable breaking chairs while waiting for matchmaking haha lol"

ALL of the comments are like:

"Update the game"

"Where are the SOTE weapons"

"Where is ED Heolstor"

"Where is Steel Ball Run Ep2"

They should seriously reconsider the development resource allocation even at this point. The game sold more than 5 million copies. It deserves more small DLC.

Moonnymph.7: 600 hours in Nightreign and i still play it every now and then. I had a blast playing it.

I think Fromsoft trying something diff was a great thing.. I hope Duskbloods is even better!

kryptonian5539: I didn't care for it until I played Raider and was able to unga bunga my way to victory.

gaius2451: I totally skipped it because it has a multi-player focus and you can't make your own character.

abdouab3250: Elden ring 2 when

ZBXrivals: hollows being only 15 bucks was crazy good im not currently playing anymore but the game is a 10 as far as investment goes. Im still raging about my depth 2 runs lol

IskandarTheConqueror: my biggest issue with the game is that it came out in 2025 and there was/is no crossplay insight.

GamerSirus: I gotta say I put about 2 or 3 hours into NR and I just bring myself to play anymore. They took all the best parts of the Soulsborne games that I love so much and removed them, and just made a boss rush mode on a time limit. It's just not fun or interesting to me and just ultimately feels like a cheap asset flip. If you love it, respect. I just can't get down with it.

Meanwhile, I just recently surpassed 3,000 hours on Elden Ring across all characters. My main character alone has 800 hours. That's not even counting the time I've put into the other games. DS3 still my favorite <3

SOLO_4_LIFE: I haven't played in several months, it just wasn't what I personally wanted.

parasite7639: It was lowk ahh once the honeymoon phase ended

EldynvanDijk: Awsome Refresh pull

TaylorGumby: Not sure who I'm posting this for, but I'll just chalk it up to engagement for helping Ziostorm's channel.

Everything about nightreign is spectacular. I was mega hyped to get it at the release.

However with it being a co-op dependent game, I had a rough time getting super sucked into it, because I had a small feeling of dread with letting down other random players online.

None of my friend groups are as into fromsoft titles as I am, and the ones that are : don't have the same gaming system as I do, so hopping on to learn as a group, can't happen.

It's a game that I would love to hold my own and be a valuable teammate - but I just don't have the time consistently to "get good", so I keep putting off playing it, and opt for more single player focused titles instead.

Then when xbox jacked their online service fees up massively, we just decided it wasn't worth the cost anymore and ended it. Yeah, they have the low end $10 a month plan for basic online play, but even $10 a month just to have online play for a game I hardly have time to play - isn't worth it.

So Nightreign is doomed to be a once in a blue moon single player experience on my system. Every time I boot it up, I have a blast, but definitely is lacking without the co-op experience.

Not____Applicable: So sad this game doesn’t get updated anymore.

Caedus9001: Mission based games dont last too long for me, regardless, but i burned out even faster than usual. I didnt enjoy the normal bosses, let alone be able to beat them. So i never got close to seeing those upgraded versions of the fights

wpietrus: I didn’t like it… prefer solo experience and exploration without time restriction or coop requirement

SerSerington: I had to start a new Elden Ring playthrough this past weekend just to avoid going Hollow. This drought is killing me, boys

SirAshford: Personally, I wanted to like Nightreign, I was so hyped when it was announced. Unfortunately however, I simply did not enjoy the pacing of the game at all. I despise being rushed by the game, not being allowed to really explore, picking up random weapons every time and not even creating my own custom character. It is a great game, but it is not a Souls game in my opinion. They did some very interesting things with boss fights, so I hope some of the ideas for multiplayer that were created in here are integrated elsewhere. Server stability is a big plus.

Legather: I tried it, wasn't for me. Everything that makes it Nightreign and not just more Elden Ring put me off.

zanchohuncho9654: Personally not my type of game I found it pretty mediocre but I can see the appeal. I prefer their more classic style titles and would prefer if they stayed on that route.

Sanji_Vinsmoke_69: I think one of the most disappointing things with Nightreign is that the rewards are underwhelming. With all souls games, you get new weapons, spells, and armour from defeating bosses. Boss relics seem very lacklustre, especially how mid they are.

thecrusher5066: As someone who has been playing a lot of Slay The Spire 2 recently, I can say that Nightreign is the action RPG manifestation of a run in that game. Sometimes you get to the end feeling so strong and broken, and sometimes you barely scrape through to the finale. But each run is fun, unique, and leaves you itching to do another.
