sdgkh09: Daphne and her story could've been in a Bloodborne sidequest with the horror and victorian element being present, not to mention the bloodied night and a man murdering others madly, like Father Gasgoine. Perhaps that's how the Plain Doll came to life, similar to Daphne's origin?
kidsamsa: I think that if Chloe’s killer was a stranger, Daphne would be more focused on getting revenge on him as opposed to the Nightlord. If she knew the killer was a good man beforehand though, someone would never hurt Chloe if he wasn’t being corrupted by the Night, than it makes sense that her sole focus is the Nightlord. So for that reason I agree the man was most likely her father.
AlbertusSalvatierra: The 1.00 text for her codex mentions the estate’s servants went mad and began to kill one another. Various attendants of Chloe sacrificed themselves to ensure she could hide safely, but in the end she was slain by a “fiend’s” blade.
Also, funny fact is that Chloe’s character model looks a lot like Daphne. Makes me wonder if her grandfather made it in her image as a life-like play mate.
transient_moonlight: I love this character. I absolutely love her.
shyboievris834: I'd like to note that it looked as if Chloe had red hair. The house of Northern Croft could be descendants of Radagon through Rykard or another offspring we were not told of. (I only suggest Rykard bc we kmow he got busy).
nickperri6571: I haven’t done many remembrance quests just yet, but so far no one is quite who they seem
thelynxter733: I do personally think the revenant is from bloodborne, at least the same world. After all both the focus on blood and the fairly distinct architecture is a key. As well she follows the look of the doll from bloodborne, and not one like Rani uses, being the more porcelain look and the lack of ropes holding her together.
diptube6563: The way Chloe prays looks a lot like Miquellas posture too
adamoz0004: this cutscene is peak
Billyboy597: Yes! Music used to summon spirits. This increases the importance of the "dancer" archetype in the game.
Huh, I have a whole Christian framework for Elden Ring. For me, the "father" archetype is the most under explored areas for the lore. Well, Father and "Old Man" archetype. In Christianity, the Father and Jesus Christ form a type unity akin to the Roman God Janus. A being with two faces that represents the past, future, portals, boundaries, and the proper transition between the boundaries. Like, the transition from childhood to adulthood would be an example. I have this whole Janus narrative with the Dynast and Radagon, and we see Miquella play out the sins's of his father with his inappropriate transition into Godhood/adulthood.
But, Godfrey and Sir Ansbach are within the Old Man/Father archetype. Ansbach representing nurturing father and Radagon as the possessive father.
I'm all for your Nightreign interpretation. I haven't played, I might have to soon!
Looking forward to your Nightreign exploration! Off to a great start!
Hoivey: I highly doubt Radagon was the one that killed Daphne's family. If anything, Radagon simply reminds Daphne of the killer. Thats my headcannon
CheerfuEntropy: just a note, the word "caress" means to touch gently or stroke. Rhymes with "ah yes"
Murasaki046: Not a lore expert here.
When revenant uses her ult we can see that skull inside of her face. It might indicate that the creator must have used actual bodies as a place holder for the porcelain or the mold of the doll. And the spirit of that dead body must have been Daphne.
tuckddd9: I’m pretty convinced that Revenant is Miquella somehow. Especially if it isn’t an actual soul transfer from Chloe happening. We see Ranni in a doll and her and Miquella have a lot of parallels, she uses triple rings, is found staring at Radagon (who would be her father), and she’s frail and childish and relies on followers to fight for her. I don’t know it’s a stretch but she at least feels like a loose reference to the ol miquellester
SilentCrypts-j2d: That thing is not a revenant. They are blue with four arms and ring bells or scream and slap me until I am dead.
LadymEmma: It would be cool if her father actually the final boss in the DLC
Wafflefrieslmdh: It’s funny how the crucible samurai encased in his own armor bearing a cursed sword and capable of transforming into a beast ended up losing the edgelord contest to a literal doll
pupely: Amazing story! Seems like she parallels Ranni. Radagon led her to death by being a leal hound of the Golden Order, breaking her mother as well
chito2701: i think it's safe to say that THE REVENANT and DUTCHES are from the Bloodborne universe.
zackdoom: Pls do all of them
eeveeeevee610: Pretty sure its bloodborne connection, the man was making beastly noises and I believe when Chloe died and a pool of blood exploded was some transformation from the man's beastly growls to full on beast
uninhibition31: I would have never unlocked her because the item from the vendor seemed so useless. I had to look up a guide, lol.
Chatisthisrealquestionmark: what the hell fromsoft.
nightsage217: I'm not insinuating, but if Fromsoft decided to make Resident Evil-ish title, we know where it begins.
Red_Eyed: I heard a rumor that From Soft or Miyazaki’s next game was gonna be more focused around magic. I have a feeling they’re giving us a taste with The Revenant.
macjackui: Maybe night aspect is Radagon . He use moonlight gs that explain why she look at Radagon portrait
