The PROBLEM with ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN shorts

LifeEnjoyer-jo6yb: I’ve heard they’re adding updates to address these concerns, so glad they’re listening. Nightreign has crazy potential, and I expected short comings because of previous experience with multiplayer in fromsoft games. As long as they’re addressing these issues, I foresee great things from Nightreign.

FLUFFYWOLF1212: To be fair, nightreign and duskbloods were made to teach their newer developers how to make a souls game and how to use the assets, it kind of makes sense that they arent perfect from launch then as its likely the original devs and the veterans at fromsoft will add more in time to make it a better experience

Raccoon-man2253: It’s quite simple, communicate with vibes(spinning, and attacking the air)

ilcyclista1: "Our first ever multiplayer soulsborne game"

Dark Souls White Sign Soapstone: "am I a joke to you?"

user-yp8ph6gt6k: I’m actually glad they made a game like nightreign. People saying it’s just a cash grab, but I think they’re mostly just using it as a test game to sort out the multiplayer and co-op implementation for their newer games, possibly like their upcoming Duskbloods game for Nintendo Switch.

AlexanderBurks08: I just bought it today and my biggest problem is finding someone to play with

Edit: I meant real friends to play with bc of the lack of cross platform

seanbrooks5863: True I swear you always have the best takes

ElvaHilda: Ironically, a 7 does not detract from the game's overall quality; in fact, it says a lot. I'm sure they'll patch it up in a few months.

skitzy9870: To be honest not having a chat I feel like was a good idea. I'm already struggling against bosses no need to listen to someone angrily screaming at me in voip or flaming me in chat for not playing the exact way they want me to or blaming everyone for dying themselves

MarryGinovia: I'm actually glad there is no in-game chat.

Conimon: The lack of Voice Chat is lowkey fire because whenever I would usually be upset with my teammates for screwing things up I think “I couldn’t tell them, it’s not their fault, they aren’t in my head” but if it had Voice Chat silly mistakes would become inexcusable because they have warnings and waste 30min of everyone’s time

sashamackereth9590: Ironically a 7 doesn't make it bad in fact that still says solid things about the game as a whole. Which im sure they will patch it up in a few months time.

GlunkTheLegend: Fun thing is the maker of the seamless co-op mod has made one for Nightreign already, it is still in an early state but functional, it allows for the duo fun players want. I do feel bad for the console tarnished as i was one untill i got a pc but fromsoftware did address that they'll add a duo mode in time.

LabronJames-k4c: I feel like if they spent more time polishing it like they did shadow of the eltree then it would’ve been a bigger hit

LordFurafura: I love that there is no chat. No discussions, no screaming, no urge to mute the whole squad like in valorant. It's perfect. What I miss though is the option to communicate with presets like in rocket league. but that would be hard to add to gamepad controls as basically all buttons are used already...

giratinate: Nightreign is one of those games that can be drastically improved by just adding “more.” More maps for specific bosses, more unique weapons, and ESPECIALLY more ways to improve your characters in between runs. The relic system is fine for what it is, but the improvements are minor and situational. While a big parts of rogue-likes is restarting over and over again, another big part is visible improvement and unlocking of new gear each run. I think that adding unlockable skills and ultimate arts would be a great way to have actual progression. Another really great improvement would be a rest period in between days 1 and 2, for a chance to manage your inventory and plan ahead.

DevinOfBacon: They need to add NPC summons as an option for solo play. It makes more sense to do that, since the game is designed for multiplayer rather than solo. Scaling difficulty wouldn't work as well, as well as it would be tougher to get right.

odleadam: All valid criticisms. Personally none of them are an issue for me but I know not everyone has friends crazy into the same game that are already on the same platform.

When you have three and it works it is an absolute blast! Already poured in 12 hours over the weekend

JasonFunderberker3569: Nightreign is another Dark souls 2 situation, they let a different director steer the wheel, and let experimentation rule without fully flushing out the main ideas

clinicalant9198: As someone who hasn’t played yet, i think lack of duos is the biggest problem, but the other two issues also need to be fixed.

Coltonfray: I’ve been waiting to hear your opinion on it!

kellyrussell6179: Hope they actually follow through and make updates and not abandon it like sparking zero

marquisnewman7110: After playing for a while, I've realized why balancing for 2 players would be difficult. It's not just the enemy damage numbers, enemy density, and player power scaling/rune acquisition that would need to be changed. The revival mechanism itself would need to possibly see a complete revision. Right now, as it stands, you revive a player by dealing damage to them. Both the players and the enemies in the game move at a much more increased speed overall, and with 3 players, the typical solution is for one player to draw aggro while the other assists their comrade. In a duo match, if one player goes down, the second player is now tasked with both avoiding the current enemy/enemies and finding an opportunity to revive the other player. This already happens in trio sessions when two teammates go down, and it's one of the hardest situations to recover from. Imagine if that was happening EVERY time one of the two players went down. To balance this, the developers would possibly have to change the revive system, the overall enemy aggression level, the damage that enemies can deal to a given player, the speed at which a teammate can be revived, and a number of other values that would make this comment way too long. I am not saying this can't be done, but we might need to look to a complete overhaul of game mechanics in order to make duo matches more viable.

LabronJames-k4c: I feel like the only thing wrong with the game is that it wasn’t finished and that it was rushed

Slothjira: I love this game, I only want I game chat, and duos

ItsDuon-g9w: The hardest part of nightreign isnt even the actual game itself its just finding friends to play with

Accountthatexists: Ngl hopefully it gets those updates within the next few months, should of existed as basic features at launch but whatever
