JoeNeutrino: Storm King and Silent Ellipsis are the most underappreciated Elden Ring channels.
waltsalemastick814: It's pretty clear that it's the Nox who broke Metyr, look at the gash in her chest. There's no way that it was just always there and nothing worth to note. Metyr and her fingers have been described as to as broken and damaged, and I think it's meant in the literal sense. Metyr's injury caused her connection with the Greater Will to be severed, which is why they've been defective and inaccurate messagers for so long.
ChanchoWins: I'm pretty sure that the burried Eternal City was a fragment of Llyendel. It's not only right under it but shape and arquitecture also match and this definetly does not mean it happened after the shattering.
mdcandronic: There's more Sellian architecture you missed! The churches of Marika in the Realm of Shadow are of Sellian architecture. Compare various elements and you'll see it's the same style, just slightly burnt and discolored. The Church in Shadowkeep's church district is different though, built later. Can share my reddit post if you like. This implies that these churches were built at a similar time to Lower Leyndell which i believe to be the oldest part of Leyndell, as you said built around the remains of the Nameless Eternal City. I also wanna point out is the Urumi, the only weapon which mentioned Nightfolk beyond the character creation, is found in Caria Manor and the weapon seems modeled after the flowing weapons of the Nox. Another connection between nox and Caria, which i find quite important because the Nightfolk are suggested to be mimics which somehow gained "real" blood.
HARBLJONES: they turned the gloam eyed queen into a frickin' fingerslayer blade!!?
spencer9745: I started barking like a dog when I saw a new Storm King vid had dropped. This dude cooks like no one else
beansnrice321: Opening with The Plagues was pretty sick.
VoidVoid1337: Pog First
noamias4897: There’s just something about your theories and how you present them that makes me agree with you, even when you’re not affirming my previous thoughts. I think you’re totally on point when discussing Tarnished Archeologist and his approach for example. While he makes awesome videos there are some things where I just don’t follow his thinking
ironbadger8985: Brother, you have been consistently delivering one banger video after the next. I look forward to seeing more like this.
henrikryden8682: The Plages from the Prince of Egypt is a fucking good track!!!
metafauxr: Great video! I agree with 90% of it! Here’s some speculator hints:
- I call the sword and book statues “Radagon Statues” as they are continuously associated with smithing stones, arteria leafs, pumpkin heads, etc.
- I hope to hear more about the connection between the ancient dynasty and the Nox, specially with their focus on ghost gloveworts.
THETYMEKK12: What about the Sun Realm? I think it existed before the Eternal Empire, due to the connections to the Ancient Dragons.
Ok - you referred to is as Farum Azula - fair.
andreapda10: Loved the video. In particular I found very interesting the connection you drew between sacred and celestial. A closely similar theme was present in Demons Souls as well
kurenian: This is a really great video. It gives me the idea to one day make an interactive map of the lands between, charting the golden order, eternal empire, Farum azula, rauh, and the dynasty ruins.
arthurking3638: 400 likes a way to few for such a good video. Thanks for sharing your theories!
falgalhutkinsmarzcal3962: Celestial Dew is more explicit about the Moon interfering with Fate in vers 1.0.
"A nostrum used by members of the Carian royal family, gathered from MOON TEARS remaining above ground.
An old magic hides within, known to interfere with fate itself."
The usage of the verb "hides" might implicate the Dark Moon since it is basically "hiding" from the Golden Order and the Greater Will until it has the opportunity to interfere more perfectly with the Greater Will and the other Outer Gods (Age of Stars ending). The fact that we cannot see the Dark Moon until we reach Manus Celes means that it is a secret being hidden. Moreover, the Celestial Dew being a product of the Dark Moon makes sense since we see that the Nox were attempting to create dark moons by using mimic tears. Their experiments resulted in the rolling balls underground. Mimic tear larvae also "rebirth" several enemies in-game (such as the wormface near Rykard's dead erdtree), and ablutions are viewed as "rebirth" by many religions (such as Christian Baptisms). Rebirth through baptism is a means of washing away sins, or, as it were, wrongdoing against npcs.
KarmicBreathing: Your take on the Eternal Empire transitioning to the age of the Hornsent put a funny thought in my head
The downfall of the Eternal Empire with their sophistication and refine, being replaced by a Madmax style group of people who wandered too close to sources of radiation the Eternal Empire knew better to avoid. They notice their kids growing horns and go "boys - I think we are a chosen people."
Mid-explanation Ornis falls from the sky and says he just kicked an eagle's ass
sephiroth8517: I thought maybe the founding rain of stars was the time when metyr came to the lands between.
AyaGumede: There are only 3 moons, and they represent the 3 sisters Rennala, Rellana, and the Snowy Crone Renna (Couod also possibly be Selen)
agxryt: In the base game, Marika is said to be from the Eternal Cities, descended from the Numen, and also related to the Nox. In the DLC, thats entirely discarded. It’s a disappointing level of incoherent from FromSoft. But I guess there’s also that line from Rogier on the Night of Black Knives - “It happened long before the shattering of the Elden Ring…. Soon, the Elden Ring was smashed, and thus sprang forth the war known as the Shattering.” Long before? Soon following? Same thing. Elden Ring lore was unhinged from the start.
TriforceWisdom64: Is...that a song from The Prince of Egypt at the start?
michalnowacki1489: It's kinda amazing that the timeline is still so debatable, and in my opinion DLC muddied the waters a little with the introduction of the Hornsent society. On a side note, were the people (women?) of the Shaman Village all Nox people or did they affiliate with them as a means of fighting the Hornsent? I really hope the GRRM short story that the game's lore is based on gets released some day.
