dirtyjokesandvideogames: I think the ‘Original Sin’ (besides being a narrative tool that can’t be satiated gameplay wise) is pretty much everything Marika did. She altered the world (perhaps universe) removing death, the ‘real’ night, the sanctity of rot, etc. In many ways, she was preserving a moment in time at the expense of the future; a selfish sin by forsaking the lives that should have been born, live, and die in the natural cycle.

krishnansubramoni7801: I would love to explore the concept of night in the Elden Ring universe. Mainly because even before Nightreign, night time was unusually significant in base Elden Ring. There was Margit's famous lines of "cower in fear of the night", the Night's Cavalry and Death birds only spawn at night time, the demi-humans go berserk at night, the walking mausoleum's "go to sleep" at a specific time at night. And of course, all the lore bound to the Nox. Why night time in Elden Ring is the way it is always puzzled me, and even though FromSoftware say the lore is independent, it is still undeniably connected on some levels. And so I am really excited for more Nightreign lore

It almost mirrors how Gladius, Beast of Night, was driven from its pack and how it would then find a nameless man (Heolstor) who would welcome it as his companion

Not to mention that the Lone Wolf Ashes are 3 wolves and Gladius, Beast of Night splits into 3 separate wolves
