The Art That Created Elden Ring

ripthedodobirdss: forever grateful to exist at the same time as miyazaki

motterfckr: god I wish I could play this time for the first time all over again...

motterfckr: I really liked this video idea, good job bro

riderz_13: Elden Ring is Such a Endless Journey pushing 3000hrs and cant stop

thecrabpilgrim2849: Elden Ring is a masterpiece

ShogunOFC: This is what FromSoftware's silence does to a man.

DoBTF2: Banger video. Love to see the real world inspirations for FromSoft games!

epiccthulu: I thought this was about to be a video of Berserk artwork…the classical art is fantastic to show

Quicksilver20233: For me it was that portal to the Haligtree and my jaw just being on the floor, and later walking into Elphael and just being awe struck, no game has come close since

TheDiamondSea: This was good. I saw a similar video a couple weeks ago and felt a lot of the examples were a bit of a stretch.

goblinhusk: As a fan of the Friedrich piece, Miyazaki really made that painting into a literal explorable environment fraught with mysteries and danger. I can't get over it. It's now my favorite video game vista.

dev4159: I've always thought that sometimes the clouds in the sky look like the ones in these old paintings.

shehnajathwal9276: Loved the video brother

nikeaddiction0420: the guy who made the album covers for prog. rock band 'yes' ended up suing james cameron for his art direction in avatar

revenantwolzart: Liurnia of Lakes is definetly Van Gough's Starry Night!

fastenedcarrot9570: The winged helm in the Siegfried painting remind me of the Mausoleum Knights a bit, although their wings are attached to their chest piece and would be beside their heads.

bigporkens5439: Great video! I always loved seeing paintings that directly inspire the games I love.

NoSuchMachine: One that always come to mind is another Dali piece called "Raphaelesque Head Exploding" that is the same Greek dome that Marika's Bedchambers are modelled after, except exploding and mixing with rhino horns to form the head of the Madonna. I used to know a bunch of them, but it might take me a minute to think of some that aren't kind of obscure.

rycte: How come you didnt credit Seancesco who uploaded a video with this exact theme and even some of the same examples released two weeks before this video?

silentobserver888: George R R Martin

MrYsosad: I would say "art that inspired".

"Art that created" is stretching it

arrunmajhu4781: Nothing beats Elden Ring

batrol6687: Every artist has an inspiration. For some others it will be Elden Ring, which will inspire their art. That is a beautfiul circle which never ends.

old_shape: Miyazaki is a true man of culture

fastenedcarrot9570: Elden Ring is by far my favourite looking game of all time. Partly I just like massive structures and ruins. You can very easily see that there have been multiple different eras with very different architectural styles across the lands as well and I love that. As you said later in the video being able to see that something great once stood there, like with the mega structures in Limgrave and Caelid (then we see similar architecture in Rauh in SotE). It makes the world feel very lived in.

allinyourhands: That was awesome, thank you !!

not_a_weirdo_tfc1324: One real world location that may have inspired some of the landscape is Fingal's Cave in Scotland. The shape of the stone looks like a lot of the stone in the Lands Between. Fun video!
