Tarnished Edition NEW LORE Explained Elden Ring Lore

nicodemusedwards6931: Even across the fog, Lucatiel is remembered.

AstroPontelious: Heavy Knight's lore: He is a knight, and...

umm...

Angelus02: It would actually make a lot of sense for Goldmask to be draconian. They're the descendants of the ancients dragons who were the original bearers of the Greater Will's order and the Elden Ring, the "ideal" bearers of order if you will. Goldmask, being the one to crate the "perfect order" to fix the Elden Ring would be pretty fitting then.

TheTomOne: Expanding on the blind faith topic, look at the position of the break in the mask. It’s beneath the eyeline. This could very well symbolise refusal to acknowledge the existence of the break that’s literally right under his nose, or, that the break is beneath his notice.

InspiredTarnished: Roommate asked about my plans for the weekend. Had to let them know the light of grace was calling again and there was new lore to be found. They just sighed and asked if I couldn’t just wait for a Smoughtown lore video.

CyanBirb: A note about Broken mask! He actually looks very similar to the perfumers in Leyndell, them being alchemists would also factor into Goldmasks questline quite well imo

duroprem: We knew it already, but now it's officially confirmed: Lucatiel armor in Elden Ring means Elden Ring truly is Dark Souls 2 2.

Volnas97: The most important thing is, that Fashion Souls now includes Torrent and that makes me happy.

LadyAsmodeus: finally having that dark Torrent skin reminds me of my first time playing Elden Ring, then watching a video on youtube revealing I missed a Night Cavalry in the beginning, and I saw in the video you can knock him out of his horse, then the horse stays there - I immediately went back to the game with great anticipation that I'm going to be able to ride that really cool dark horse instead of Torrent, but no :'

randconfig8626: I'm so glad there was new lore instead of generic flavor text! I wonder if the other lands mention in Idus armor/weapon could be a hint at new DLC... I really want to believe we will get more DLC, it can't end like this, with 5 dollar horse armor...

mattelwood980: Torrent yeeting me off as I first wandered into the Abyssal woods is probably my favorite part of the Shadows DLC. Ol boy through me for a loop trying to figure out what the hell scared him.

scaldingsteam2038: Been a long time fan for about 4 hours now. Always nice to see a new video drop.

viktor_v-ughnda_vaudville_476: The only person who could make not only a 40 minute video out of this but a great and informative one

titaniumteddybear: 12:58 So Noble Broken Mask is cursed to do everything he can to rid himself of doubt. If he was watching when we revealed the statue of Marika that would provoke quite a lot of doubt in him. And so to rid himself of that doubt he has to kill us.

novemberguy7087: Heavy Knight gives off 'too angry to die' vibes. Also reminds me of Tower Knight from Demon's Souls. Albeit with a smoother and more round armor design.

stinkybean5: 24:35 Imo, the reason for her invasion may be to seek an end to her life by glorious combat to join Radahn. Wouldn't be the only time in this game that we were challenged to combat to the death.

enkrumelur: Did not know we kill torrent in the frenzied flame ending. Never doing that ending again, Melina can burn but Torrent? That’s worse than a cardinal sin.

Sabaku-Rose: I did a video about Radahn's past using Caelid for evidence, he really was someone that a lot of people respected and admired. Its nice to see more people added to the Redmane list, even if they forgot what game they're in.

N1TealLover: I think Leontiel invades you because she lost her purpose, Jerren left and Radahn is finally at rest, so now she decides to test her strength against the one who felled him, as a way to meet an end like him perhaps

jerensteinbear: My favorite thing about new Fromsoft releases is knowing we're gonna get some fantastic videos covering it.

KainPT730: I dont know if anyone pointed out, but the golden order flail skill animation its almost the same as the law of regression and causality, but theres a difference when the character does the pose the arms in the skill arent completely straight unlike the incantations.

TristanHawthorne: I think Leontiel invades to protect the War-Dead Catacombs. Her invasion location is nearly equidistant between where the meteor strike cutscene spits the player out and the doors to the War-Dead Catacombs, directly on the line drawn between the two locations.

BeardGrizzly: I think it's important to note: BOTH Goldmask and Brokenmask are exploring who they are in the Order or exploring their beliefs. Brokenmask is not doubting the order; he blindly follows it. Goldenmask isn't in doubt of the Order but knows that it needs to be "fixed" or answer that which Marika may have been keeping from the Order in the first place.

Regardless of which way it is intended, this on le added NPC actually adds a lot of depth to the quest that already explored a lot of themes both in religion and in personal development.

gregm7598: I can't believe YouTube hide this from me for 15 minutes.....unforgivable

Daemanding: I was waiting for this video!

felbalze6307: I find an interesting visual similarity between the knights of Idus, and the Erdtree Guardians. Not the Avatars, but the figures adorned in green and gold funerary attire with saplings growing from their backs. It’s perhaps a stretch, to say that Idus has a pact with the Golden Order to send their tarnished to live and grow in the Lands Between—and in death defend the icon of their faith and its scions eternally, but I find it oddly compelling. It could be because they are both have good Dexterity and lean towards Faith, could be because the Idus knights belt looks like it has a golden seed on the end… I don’t know. I just feel like there’s something there. What do you think @SmoughTown? I see a lot of people connecting them to the Carians, and sure, I can see it, but also… just doesn’t fit right, imo.

Woecaller: Appreciate the uploads bud
