tunt8189: Sometimes at the beginning of the run after you drop down if your first camp have some broken carriages lying around there is a big chest in a carriage that have a high chance for a stonesword key.

D43vul: The corpse in the sewer also has a small chance to drop a/the stonesword key. I've gotten around 2 keys for every 10 castles I've visited from the corpse. It's not a very accurate sample but the chance is there.

henriquerodrigues7795: From my testing lordsworn guarded chest is 100% guaranteed to always have a key. Cathedral chests behind altars can have them too. Abductor chests are not guaranteed to have them. And Golem/Crystal guy mage chests on the area with the gate are also not guaranteed, all of those chests are likely to have keys but only lordsworn guarded chest is guaranteed to.

caraldinho: I found quite a few stonesword keys off the guy at the very end of the long bridge.

If there's no key in the fort, you should look at that spot on the bridge.

awesomejz7069: For the Small Forts (where you walk up the stairs normally) there is also sometimes a wooden chest to the right of the bottom of the stairs that can drop a stone sword key as well.
