For other warriors, the claw is reduced to a blunt instrument," so that's the reason for the Fist classification for what appears to be a Claws-class weapon.

quickfate: On the plus side, because they count as fist weapons they have super high stance break, meaning if you throw on a few stance break relics you can trivalise the first night or so for your party by stance breaking most enemies.
