cesco4866: I think the ds serie, bloodborn and elden ring changed my gamer life in a way that's not even close to anything else, the fantasy reality every kid always dreams about, but even more. More real. More cruel. Not all cool and nice, but dark and mysterious, violent, and that was incredible, something that game like Baldurs gate can't do imo. And this doesn't mean they are worse without doubt, but for me personally ds and er are on a whole level of peak.

You learn that even the gods aren't good enough to bring everything back, that the erdtree has rejected everyone who tries to enter, and ultimately once you've unleashed death itself you find that even the elden lords of the last era failed to fix the problem.

Only by moving on from the things causing its decay can the world heal from its wounds and find its own way forward.

juanrodriguez26: The story and lore of Elden Ring are a masterpiece. But for some reason, Miyazaki and George R.R. Martin threw everything out the window with Shadow of the Erdtree, its lazy writing, its boring characters with no soul or charisma, its incoherent lore that contradicts the lore of the base game, its pathetic antagonists with silly motivations like Messmer, who in the trailers looked imposing but ended up being just a pathetic crybaby with mommy issues, or Miquella, who is easily the most disappointing and poorly executed villain in the entire Soulsborne saga. Not to mention they ignored the existence of important characters like Godwyn, Malenia, Godfrey, and Melina and ridiculed characters like Radahn, who became a complete joke and doesn't even make sense for his return.

Elden Ring is a masterpiece. Shadow of the Erdtree is a fanfic.
