Shopping Cartgaunter6160: You absolutely need to react to Heolstor the Nightlord. It's a certified banger
_Sh1ne_: Nightreign's ost is on another level
hos_7711: Libra ost next please
G0wther5683: Next has got to be The Dredge Lord from the Nightreign Forsaken Hollow DLC
officialredhedmusic: Highly recommend these 6 from Elden Ring: Nightreign, which is where this Caligo piece comes from: Libra (Equilibrious Beast), Heolstor (Night Lord), Balancers (Harmonia), Augur (Fathom), Gnoster (Sentient Pest), and Dreglord (Straghess). The entire Nightreign OST is fantastic, but these boss themes are something else.
renex250195: Lore from the game "A prehistoric dragon which lurks within fog. The great shadowy pair of eyes, framed in frigid mist, are said to appear at history's great junctures. Its coldness can readily purloin the living warmth of its victims."
James-gj8rn: Okay so i'll freely admit that i am nowhere good enough to finish these Soulslike games but even so the music for them is always incredible, especially in all the boss fights, they have some of the best boss music in gaming
mikaordog8254: Heolstor's OST is also really beatiful and Gladius Beast of night is also really great
frikihd894: FINALLY I WAS WAITING FOR THIS OST REACTION :DDD Honestly fav Nightreign soundtrack
planetaoruga: I dont even need to see the video, instant like, this is one of my favourite themes from all fromsoftware catalog
murathisle: Nightreing not being nominated for its ost is a crime
jetstreamvlad9060: You should react to more Elden Ring Nightreign tracks, pretty much all the main boss themes are worth listening too, ESPECIALLY the DLC tracks.
allanhubble9497: The impression this song gives is a sad one — like a majestic creature taking to the skies for one last flight.
sandiavida: After so long, a Nightreign soundtrack is here.
Context:
She’s a giant, slender, ice dragon, and one of the nine “Nightlords”
[Before defeating her]
“A prehistoric dragon which lurks within fog. The great shadowy pair of eyes, framed in frigid mist, are said to appear at history's great junctures. Its coldness can readily purloin the living warmth of its victims.”
[After defeating her]
“The night belonging to Caligo, left upon her defeat.
The power of its namesake can be unlocked by performing a relic rite.
From the phantasmal peak upon which she hid herself, she peered down into the world, committing to memory what she perceived.
Then, her eye drawn to a certain cataclysm, from out of hiding she leapt with wings unfurled.
For she wished to know and to understand, first hand, just what fortunes and misfortunes the disaster would bring upon the world.”
manusloquentes6040: Also try other Nightreign ost
victorshahedi5035: React to dreglord Straghess theme please
user-bh8gm9qc5o: In addition to this soundtrack being absolutely peak, the sound effects in the boss fight, particularly the howling that Caligo releases during battle compliments the track so well. She’s a dragon, but she’s not screeching or roaring like we typically hear from a dragon. There’s a mournful, tragic feeling in the way she calls out, almost whale-like, in battle. Gorgeous.
joreass6150: I have been waiting for this one since night reign release!! Finally my favourite ost from the game.
Domad-Umburus: In the gameplay this song sounds even cooler. During the whole fight you hear full orchestra version, but Caligo has one attack when she flies in the sky and the entire arena gets covered in a fog while the orchestra is fading away leaving us only with piano and echo. Caligo doesn't attack you while the fog is there so for 20 seconds you can just stay and listen to this beautiful piano making it one of the most unforgettable boss fights
Fromsoft are insane with those things
I highly recommend you check more of Nightreign music because of how experimental it is with the score of their other games. Especially recommend you themes of Libra/Maris/Heolstor and Dreglord because they are greatly showing how diverse this soundtrack is
lildr1zzyg100: Libra ost will blow you away
wonderlanddreamer1021: DUDE, you have to check out Soulframe music and the game as a whole. It's amazingly beautiful and chill inducing. There are official videos out there with the gameplay if you want context for the songs. But like, don't miss out on this
epicleaf: Have you done Gael's theme? If not, do that definitely!
Its end boss super drama epic type stuff and the best dark souls series track imo
HK_BLAU: always a joy to hear your take on my fav OSTs <3
benjaminenriquecheuquepanv3734: From all the masterpieces Fromsoft has given us in terms of music, this track is the one I love the most, to me it's the best one. Each part feels so unique, and the contrast between the last part and the rest is just wonderful, I like to imagine that when the piano comes in with quick notes, indicating danger, it's not danger for us as players, it's Caligo realizing she's not up against a nobody, she is actually in danger, thus she is now willing to go full power to survive. In the end Caligo was never bad, she's just an ancient dragon, the most ancient, who is curious and wants to see and learn, but she sadly chose that over her species and ended up caught in a calamity, and to end the calamity she must die.
Also, what really, REALLY hit me hard from your reaction, Tony, was that "hmm" when the song is ending. That "hmm" was my exact reaction when I first listened to this track, because it was the only way to end this song, the perfect way, calm, gorgeous, but sad at the same time, because Caligo is finally resting.
I'mma go play some Nightreign if y'all don't mind, I got hyped!
riccard1n0: Elden Ring Nightreign have some of the best game music I’ve ever heard. Honestly better than all Fromsoft Previous Games in terms of music/ost
