whitediamond8507: The stone coffins actually have more ties to the "unclean"/those who live in death than they do the numen.

They're full of dead who weren't given proper burial, which caused their bodies and spirits to congeal into putrescence

and since they were never properly put to rest, they were able to to move and thus the putrescent knight was born.

It's a nod towards the idea that Marika's order wasn't the only order to only offer solace in death to those deemed worthy- there's a history of it in this world.

There is actually no indication that those coffins have any ties what so ever with the Numen, kind of interested in what exactly you read or heard to draw that conclusion.
