joesheridan9451: Great to see the ulcerated tree spirit back... Really feel he was underused in the base game
blackhammer5035: I can't believe that for once, Iron Pineapple is covering a Lords of the Fallen-like that I have already heard of. Guess he's gone mainstream.
Mangoscats: I still wish we had a 2 player mode. It’s infinitely easier to get one other friend to play than 2
brethen05: I think adding the pursuer from DS 2 as a field boss would be awesome. Have him randomly fly in on his raven and drop in
mota7455: No crossplay is crazy for a coop game
PlatinumAltaria: One thing they really missed is AI coop partners for singleplayer. Imagine not just bringing back old bosses, but old characters too. Let's get Solaire, Sif, Patches, Eileen, Sekiro, Leda, Igon, Bernahl, Sellen, Melina, Yura, Dung Eater, and Blaidd
MetalCaffeine56: I know Nightreign isn't a live service forever game or anything like that but I could easily see this game getting content updates in the future depending on how successful it is.
are3287: >You can invite people to a lobby
HOLY SHIT I was so god damn sure this would be beyond fromsoft but lo and behold they actually did the bare minimum
GrongusPlays: I can't help but notice they FINALLY made new critical/backstab animations for weapon classes. It only took 11 years, but finally Dark Souls II's influence has come to fruition
peterf9006: Randomizer runs are so popular with these games, I'm kinda shocked FS didn't put in a "Chaos" mode like he said, where they actually randomize all enemies/bosses. They could've tweaked the parameters to make it somewhat reasonable, they're the creators of the game ffs.
alexmb929: No cross play and no game chat really makes this brutal for an Xbox gamer with no friends
TK_121: No cross play and no two player option. FromSoft are living in the stone age when it comes to multiplayer coop.
101lwx: My issue with the whole "it's fun with friends but not solo" thing is that almost everything is fun with friends cause hanging out with people you like is almost always going to be a good time
PotatoPatatoVonSpudsworth: Nightreign suffering a lack of proper randomization and variety makes sense. Remember the Chalice Dungeons?
hugeali758: I hope they're planning to release more content. It looks like the kind of game you go back to playing every now and then.
mimimalloc: I was a little worried duplicate characters may not be allowed so it's good to see they are. I'm glad if my friend had the same favorite we wouldn't have to fight over it.
itsyaboiguzma: By far the best review for Nightreign so far. Straight to the point, brought up the genuine problems the game has, what the game does right, and how fun the gameplay loop is. Very much appreciate the genuine view for the game
jonathanperigo6853: I really hope they expand the variety in this game. The ideas are so cool, but just like you said, it gets repetitive much faster than a roguelike should.
bitterweet5115: the lack of randomness is pretty painful honestly
yakkocmn: love to see accurate labels on the fun chart with "ranked league of legends solo queue" at the very bottom
Salmonwithfeet: Totally correct, iron pineapple! (I havent even started the video yet)
MasoTrumoi: Here's hoping that they have free updates in addition to DLC that adds more variance to the events and abilities. Not sure if they will, but sounds like it'll be that much more solid for it.
mrblade6163: A note on the no SotE enemies or bosses (barring the hippo) from what I have heard nightreign was developed later on but at the same time as elden ring base game was, so there werent any dlc enemies for them to add. The project is a way for FromSoft to teach newer developers and directors about game creation in a safer environment and give them the room to fail without a huge amount of pressure, while also letting them learn lessons on where they might or have failed. I love this approach as it gives the consumers a taste of something new while gearing up the next names for their big projects, and I believe Duskbloods is in a similar boat regarding its internal aim. FromSoft for the win again
OrewaShow: At the very least the Elden Ring mod scene got a huge new database of things they can pull from to make the mods even more interesting
larrywoolfolk8224: 10/10 non glazing review, the rougelike mechanics were what I worried the most about, and it seemed like i was right. I will wait until later down the line because the combat looks slick, but a rougelike without robust randomization is a sin.
_Cyph3r_.: Another game with the impossible wall of organizing more than one friend at the same time...
EatDemWaffles: For anyone sus on the format of the game, Ravenswatch is a fantastic game with a similar character system and 3-night mechanic thats usually on sale for like $15 and a lot of fun with friends. Obviously not a 1-1 comparison as its not souls combat but it might tell you if the stressful looting/grinding of the days format is right for you
