bee5464: The whole point, I think, is that Ironeye loves fighting. He loves the hunt, he loves the thrill. Ending the night already puts a damper on that but being killed afterwards would only make it so he stops doing what he loves.

If the night ends and is banished until it returns again, he and his kin would be executed for just existing by servants of order. He would rather condemn the world than save it, as saving it would have him condemned him by those he saved. Why be a hero when the world will still view you and your kin as villains even if you do the right thing?
