GloamEyed Queen Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Lore

Stormking66324: How dare the algorithm hide this from me for 2 hours

ravendelacour1917: One thing I have noted with those who reference Plato's "Republic" is they overlook consciously or unconsciously is Plato himself reveals his "perfect" city is founded on a Great Lie. The lie that those who rule over the ruled do so because their souls are superior by nature and their absolute authority is granted by the gods. The precursor to the "Divine right of kings" that lies at the root of all self-assumed tyranny. Marika is an apt reflection of that truth. Her Golden Order is a lie based on her supposed immutable wisdom when the state of the Lands Between as we find it in the game shows she was rules by selfish passion and prejudice. One does not commit multiple genocides and seizing of resources as she and many other "divinely appointed" rulers do without being a slave to one's base passions. Indeed I would see the Gloam Eyed Queen as a necessary counter to unchecked Order's desire to leave everything in stasis and once eliminate the Lands fell apart. As we see in the game what does not die, fades and dissolves into madness instead.

EggyBenedict: Incredible work as usual, your videos only get more and more beautiful. Can't wait for the next upload

Nihil847: There are parts where I really disagree but they are on specifics and very narrow views. Regardless, you’re one of the few channels that hasn’t seemed to have forgotten that the gloom eyed queen was an apostate—that her views went against the order. I really appreciate how you explained everything and the focus on how death as a transformative act for its own sake is explained with the fire monks. Well done!

gotama7239: Your way of inducing philosophy and their juxtaposition with item descriptions and elements of the game is trully magistral !

The narrative is also confirming in every way my headcannon about elden ring ; I recently made a /r post titled "We're death, in whatever form it may take"

Glad I stumbled upon your channel.

Much love

claudiuskeat8336: I can't believe this masterpiece of a game. Year by year, I learn more and more of how carefully intricate and intional every little thing is.

NotGodwyn: Stunning. I love how well the works of Plato connect to Elden Ring.

oup6009: "death is the cure to life" - Socrates while he was in prison or something

Zevibyte: this really carried the early rounds of my Nacht der Untoten run

Coperlite-Consumer: Absolute cinema of a video. So many astute and learned nuggets of truth in there. Fantastic work!

ekysnoir: beautiful

NamelessWanderer: There is more fluff in the video than in my master's thesis.

dyllgood: My algorithm is filled with Elden Ring lore videos, and I don't know why it took so long for your channel to finally show up. I love the format. Feels like a documentary. Good work

julianaharmatiuk2662: Another thing I'd like to say: this is a really good analysis and it makes a lot of sense. By picturing Marika as an intelligent, logical philosopher "king", even her being Radagon is more understandable, him merely being the "animus", or "male" aspect, embodying this strong logical impulse. Maybe she recognized in the Carian Queen the qualities she valued on herself, like intelligence and curiosity, and harbored an admiration and respect that uhh well, eventually got a little freaky. Really groundbreaking stuff. Well done, you got a sub!

depraved420: Amazing! Thanks for the video.

Sindini: Bravo!! Very well done video!

eksplosiveknight: great video! now Im going to have to rewatch it 2 more times to understand what I watched

michaeldean1924: I find messmers dialogue interesting and contradictory. “I will not suffer..a lord devoid of light” yet this is immediately followed with “wilt thou be taken in the jaws of the abyssal serpent, shorn of light.”

Shorn and devoid being the main words that matter to me here. Devoid means we never had, shorn is taken or looked over, perhaps. I think this distinction matters as it tells us we do not contain the light. What we see is grace, which is Marika/greater Will.

I like how the serpent eating its flame could tie into this distinction, or even messmers over passing over to take over for queen marika.

julianaharmatiuk2662: So you could say the flame of ruin is like the flame of... Ambition?

Apparently, Melina took Morgott's threats personally, given that she joins us to kick his ass

jonkorpi: Good work but still nothing new about the GEQ. You have a knack for this though. Looking forward to more.

glowindark64: You had no right to make this video so good while im trying to play lies of p dlc.

dyllgood: My algorithm is filled with Elden Ring lore videos, and I don't know why it took so long for your channel to finally show up. I love the format. Feels like a documentary. Good work

lemonteurdesanuseur9686: I don’t understand, it is never stated that the gloam eyed queen died, she was defeated by Marika which is something entirely different

Osga_1: yo someone help find the name of the first song of the video, with the men chanting. I can't find it for the life of me

chrispysaid: shame nobody can prove or demonstrate the existence of a soul. it's a beautiful fiction that we might continue on after our bodies die, but alas...
