Shopping CartKobi-tx9yq: the miranda flower guy was cooking like prime walter white
Kobi-tx9yq: the main appeal of fromsoft games isnt difficulty, its the exploration and learning philosophy, its not about having crazy reflexes, its about learning how to deal with mistakes and learn from them
harraldaguilar9164: Hot take, strength builds are the real easy mode because making the bosses unable to attack by constantly poise breaking them undermines their whole moveset
yudi-weiss3827: I kinda disagree with the first take but I get the sentiment. IMO Leyndell is the actual peak of Elden Ring bc that’s the only area that matches limgrave and stormveil in terms of quality
WarrenValion: ER peaks at Lendyell. The idea of this massive explorable city and then you dig deep and find this secret dungeon and then you did deeper and see another hidden area and look at that another hidden area behind that door is literally everything I have wished for in an adventure game all my life.
Limgrave isn't even close
GG-sq2or: I'd argue that Liurinia of the Lakes is where it peaks purely because the way it's introduced to you is amazing and it's such a big area to explore.
Silentj04: The whole peaking at Limgrave and Stormveil isn’t too far fetched when you consider that ALOT of people who pick up a Soulsborne game never get passed the beginning areas of the games according to global achievement completion stats
Dukefist: the bed of chaos comment was the best
dripmn1817: I still believe multi hit builds are rarely worth it in PVE because so many bosses don’t give you openings large enough to properly abuse the buff
catalyst9568: Bro all of these "hot takes" are actually legit
Dama-n2s: DS3 is propably only fs game that has better 2nd half of a game plus dlc's make it even better. Honestly lothric castle and archives that come right after are my favourite stretch of areas in any souls game with my favourite boss in ds3 topping it all of.
dthunderr: Consort Radahn has the best first phase and the worst second phase of any boss
TheFrogurai: The last elden ring hot takes video i watched spiraled into a lawsuit
noirionC: nah Haligtree and Malenia is definitely a highlight on par with Stormveil.
Numba1indahood: There is something special about Stormveil Castle. It's the only real castle we get to explore and can actually get lost in.
_Conzo_: It absolutely does: the area diversity with Siofra and the Weeping Peninsula, the suspense leading to Stormveil with Godrick referred to as "the spider" - it's fantastic stuff which really isn't bettered later on.
BigDBrian: I actually agree on the Bed of Chaos take. The one caveat is that a bonfire MUST also be added before the boss room.
"Overcoming" the boss by just mindlessly running back to the boss room, progressing the fight slightly and then dying is not great.
If you actually try to engage with the boss, learn the patterns and figure out a path through safely, it's a lot more satisfying. But the game gives you zero incentives to do so, and in fact actively stops you from doing so.
I think the general playerbase would not have hated the boss as much if it had been like this from the start. Of course, there will always be people who say platforming has no business being in a souls fight, but you can't please everyone.
kanaria-cu3uv: 8:16 that is an actual real life psychopath
Darksoulsbueno: That bed of chaos comment : may chaos take the world.
Raso719: May be a scub take, I don't care. I love Shields. I've been playing Sword and Board since DS1. I love that Elden Ring added guard counters and made shield gameplay feel more fleshed out than just holding down L1 to survive or immediately dropping someone's guard with a kick. Would love to see it further expanded in the next games.
yo4584: Dang it, i shouldve put my hot take that gnoster is the best duo fight in the souls formula.
Tilespawn: actually surprised my take wasnt hot enough "Not having cross-play for this long as an industry standard is much higher of an issue than people say it is", i even got 2 people replying disagreeing with me
ab2dii467: bro hot takes should be 40 minutes what is this
irelandnicknick: 5:48 I have a running joke with my wife that every time I replay Elden Ring, I find something new. I've done at least 12 different play-throughs and have clocked ~900 hours, and I've NEVER seen the Omenkiller and Miranda Flower fight I guess I'll get to make that joke at least one more time lmao
chicagogr81: Yay my take was hot enough! Tis the way of the master ninja.
YareliPrime-f6j: I can't agree with the Limgrave take. The underground sections are by far the best part of the game (yes, including the lake of rot). Ranni's questline in general is the highlight of this game and has probably the best exploration experience among all the Fromsoft games, apart from the first half of Dark Souls 1 maybe. And it all takes place in, or rather below Liurnia, which also looks a lot prettier than Limgrave.
Djolej78: 0:26 "Sekiro good combat" - not a hot take
4:46 "AC6 good bosses" - hot take
