Shopping Cartm1tch50: Uneven frame pacing never seen that in a fromsoft game before
ABassicGuy: One of the Switch 2's best features is having DLSS. So strange that FromSoft insisted upon themselves and their own in-house tech.
clkong3427: Their in house upscaler is like 2 gens behind.
SITSIndustries: It's 2026 and From still has no clue about holding solid framerates or frame pacing.
MetroidFREAK21: Playing this on a portable and making me angry anywhere is a joy... watch out car maintenance shops
Nemofaker: It's honestly fascinating, that From delayed the release of elden ring for a year and even afterthat somehow they ended up missing-out on the implementation of dlss upscaling...
lordzeth2859: The decision to not use DLSS is bizarre to me. I wonder why they did that.
kosmoskiruu: This would be a pretty decent fit for DLSS lite to 1440p. It's base resolution is not terrible and a lot of object in the game are static which retains higher image quality.
DGFTardin: The good news is: it's Elden Ring
The bad news is: it's Elden Ring
mjf8897: we need dark souls 3 on the switch 2
colondnb: Got to the lands of shadow and the grass density pop-in really stands out there with all the ghost gravestones. That's the most obvious visual thing I've seen in the unhealthy amount of this I've played this week, otherwise have been surprised at how striking the visuals remain. I found one corner in Nokron which appeared to completely unlock the frame rate for a moment, which makes me wonder if the 40 frames cap becomes undone in certain scenarios (or I was just seeing a very clean 40)
AxLWake: The fact we can have this game run better on an handheld than on PS4 is mind-blowing to me.
MrMorotep: The fact that DLSS is not in use is really disappointing.
The fact that they reached:
- better resolution/image quality, framerate and draw distance compared to PS4
- better image quality, average resolution and shadow quality compard to Series S performance
- worse framerate but not by much compared to Series S quality
without the use of DLSS is quite an achivement on Switch 2.
Salamihawk: Man… I remember scoffing at all the rumors that the Switch 2 would be on par with a PS4… since having one in my hands I can safely say I was very wrong
pnp29: 0:49 Ah...where does it LanD BeTWeEn
Jev55: I was worried you guys weren't going to cover Switch 2 ports. Thanks for the video!!
SuZzy-d8m: Uneven frame pacing never seen that in a fromsoft game before ....
JoshueKento: Switch 2 needs a technical team to have optimized performance. From Software is lacking in the tech department to use all of Switch 2 advanced GPU's features.
PrismFoxes: Just started playing it 10 minutes ago, what timing.
yeaboy707: Been waiting for this video. I already have 20 hours on the S2 edition, but good to have this info.
Adrian-X1: Been playing the heck outta this and have gotten farther than I did on my PS5 thus far (it'swhat i played it on after it was given to me). Game looks damn good from what i recall on my PS5.
nEspumoso: Such a crazy move not to use dlss, just why
swamplight: This game has somehow become my "comfort game" after 450 hours on the PS5, so playing it on the Switch 2 in bed makes it even better.
captainobvious8322: I didn’t appreciate the Switch 2’s 12 second respawn time until I saw how long it takes on PS4. I don’t think I could cope with a 35 second wait after each death. I’d be uninstalling the game after a few attempts of that first tree sentinel
shinababes: Without using DLSS, The Switch 2 is simply a Gen behind. Nintendo specifically partnered with NVidia for this purpose.
Codes_Comics: Credit where its due its a pretty solid port. Especially for a nintendo system, I have dark souls remastered on the switch and that port felt very half-assed in comparison. they even forgot to change the A/B buttons for the menus in that game for switch
zallapo66: 15 hrs in playing purely in handheld, and it’s easily one of the best ports I’ve played on the Switch 2
