Duchess Is Almost Perfect! Nightfarer Guide and Breakdown Elden Ring Nightreign

RandomDude1w3r: Please rank all Radahn Festival Summons, Rusty is as slow as a snail when it comes to Tierlists

krosa: i like the duchess but the stat scalings are so weird, it almost feels like an oversight -- feels like their way of balancing that very powerful skill

dedboi7089: I actually kinda like her invisibility ultimate, because after hitting a boss or something they don’t actually agro onto you-they just attack in the general area where they took damage. So if you dodge behind or to the other side of them (which is very easy for duchess) then you can constantly attack one side, go to the other, rinse and repeat for free damage. Wish it was longer though and gave a damage boost

furner837: The thing about her dagger combo is you can dodge between the stages and not reset the combo, you just pick up on the hit you were going to do after the dodge, that is why that relic is goated provided you wanna focus on daggers.

runespar: 1. Agree that her ultimate feels weak, but tbf I've lost count the number of times I've clutched a boss fight because I was able to revive my teammates thanks to that brief moment of invisibility.

2. Not sure if I just have a different playstyle, but I've gotten significant mileage out of dagger chain Restage relics. Definitely worth bringing one of those on most runs.

battsengelnurzed4787: YOUWY!!! MAKE WYLDER REVIEW AND MY LIFE IS YOURS!!!

lususnaturae881: Her dex and int actually scale the same. The only difference is that int is considered a higher value per point for the letter grades.

At level 15 duchess has 41 dex and 42 int.

The thing to note is that weapons have higher dex or int scalings, meaning each point is more effective on the physical stats. An S dex dagger will make more use of that 40 dex than a C int moonveil.

Kretek: I think her ultimate is like this as a balance to her character skill. Its still can be useful. You can safely revive. You can reposition yourself. Its not that bad. And to be honest, having op character skill with 12 seconds cooldown is good enough.

TerencesSouls: It doesn’t matter she has C in arcane: with a dagger, she can process every status very fast; I would say easier than executor. She has speed, damage, restage (LOL), I frame flips and even high int for some spell. Maybe its not clear: she’s broken.

112cyrax: btw you keep saying "...revenant can revive your teammates from across the bossroom..." which is not true. the range on it is really not that big. just wanted to point this out, love you

zambsDGOW: on duchess' damage:

While most other characters can out DPS her, duchess has the highest burst damage in the game because of restage. She gets more out of status proc than any other character. Using an ashes of war restage, duchess can out damage raider and wylder with some of their own weapons despite hardly having a strength stat. Stacking spells together in short burst combos like greatblade phalanx comet restage allows duchess to out damage recluse and revenant.

Restage is duchess' main damage source and it's what a good duchess player plays and builds around. Combining duchess with other characters with strong burst like ironeye and wylder makes restage go nuclear.

ayh4968: third

MrSkillcap: Do recluse next. I want to love that class but i feel like consuming the 3 cocktail buffs is just too long animation and you can't even reset them to continue draining mana unless you use it.

Mistle-uz8rc: The relic ability that lets gives attack power when you kill an enemy in ult actually stacks with itself. You get 1 stack per enemy killed by ANYONE on your team, up to 10 stacks. The buffs last for 20 seconds after the ult has ended, and each stack actually decays 1 at a time, so it will go 10 - 9 - 8 etc... Lasts much longer than 20s. You also get a ~22% damage increase from attacking enemies who are not aware of you (will happen since you are invisible, and they auto lose aggro when you ult). This means you could potentially have about a 170% added damage boost after ulting, and factoring any of the tons of other damage buffs in the game it can get fun. Especially with howl of shabriri and bloodboil aromatic being in the game. I have stacked the buff before against minor bosses and managed to kill them in 5 light attacks. You can use the ult on the first wave of day 1 or 2, and then have max buff ready for when the actual boss spawns. You can also just use it during the main boss fight depending on who you get. Ones like freja, commander, demi humans, etc. all let you stack the buff high pretty easily.

All that said I still think it is a pretty meh relic ability and the ult is for sure the worst in the game.

retrosoul-: Duchess was the first one I went all in on. I have ALWAYS loved my spell-blade type characters. She gets a unique dodge attack with daggers as well, meaning immediately after a dodge you can attack, no waiting. I like pairing her with her Old Pocketwatch relic (FP restoration on successive attacks and 3 dex), her blessed iron coin ( 3 vigor, continuous hp recovery, defeating enemies while art is active ups attack power), and her Crown Medal (dagger chain attack reprises event upon nearby enemies and improved dagger attack power). That last one is amazing in multiplayer.

The Duchess I have the hardest time picking a build for. You can either go all-in with her character power or lean into the spellblade aspect of her. She also makes the Color aspect of the relic system so frustrating, as the builds are limited because you can't just do whatever color you want.

yeeeeeeeeeeeepbanned9585: I got 3 relics that restores stamina on hit (including the dog one) and since it’s a flat amount restore, I can actually spam the dagger combo almost indefinitely, which is kinda broken

Agentguilt: Duchess ult is a great way to rev downed teammates, even with 3 bars. Big aoe attacks from bosses still need to be dodged, but you can wait until they finish attacking (with near infinite dodges) then go invis and they won’t aggro at all. This makes duchess one of the best options for holding wending graces. It can also be used throughout the run in a lot of ways. For example, going invis before a boss location to start the fight with the whole squad jump stronging. Also can be used as a panic option since it’s got invul while casting. It’s got a lot of utility and great support, which meshes well with her kit since you don’t really need another DPS move.

scythe7827: You forgot the multiplayer nerf where only when you play her you have trash teammates. Like an Ironeye who never uses his skill or a raider who uses a bow.

FransizSefKurbaga: Does duchess improved skill relic stack with another one? I dont know why i never tested it but i was using two, i hope i was not wasting a slot for nothing

frgrangel: the restage on dagger last hit relic is really good in multiplayer actually

her dagger moveset is fast enough that im basically always getting it off if im not actively being aggrod at the moment

unless the boss jumps away or smth

restage us up like half the time

its just an overall free benefit to the entire team

i pop the actual ability for when i want to restage a specific big chunk of damage i wouldnt make it in time for with the dagger combo

itsSmiv: Such a weird character. Bad stats, the best skill in the game, and the worst art in the game. Her skill synergizes with bleed/frostbite but her stats are geared toward dex/int

remorse2720: First

Kara_Pabuc: Duchess is the garbage class in the game. What?

m10hhn6T6yLungng-v8o: I watch your channel with pleasure. Your videos are a great way to dive into interesting topics.

rami7601: I think a "good relic setups for nightreign" would go so hard

FrigolitBAWS: Ty for the guide Youwy
